Dr. Goldstein graduated from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his internship at the Ocean State Veterinary Specialists hospital in Rhode Island. He spent four years at the Forest Hill Animal Clinic in Toronto. He then completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph. As a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Dr. Goldstein’s special interests include gastroenterology, urology, endocrinology and autoimmune diseases.

Dr. Boyd graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College. She completed a small animal internship at the Ontario Veterinary College, followed by a surgery residency at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto. As a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, Dr. Boyd specializes in orthopedic, soft tissue reconstructive and oncological surgery.

I must have hit this clinic on a bad day. When I arrived, everything was great; the receptionist was friendly and helpful. She told me what to expect, length of time, offered coffee.
The lab assistant took my cat, although I’d been told the ultrasound would take 20 – 30 minutes, my cat was back inside 8 minutes. The doctor spoke to me for a bit, and although he didn’t give me his name, he was clearly knowledgeable and competent, yet I found his personal identification with the cat to be very odd and eventually, annoying. «We’re not eating, we’re not feeling well, we may have cancer.» I understand that he may feel he’s the voice of the animal, but for me… it was cute at first, and off-​putting over the next 20 minutes.
The receptionist that checked me in was busy when I went to pay, and the woman that I paid was mentally and emotionally absent as I was paying for the visit. Frankly, it was a touch of sticker-​shock having had ultrasounds for sub 200.00, and then paying 500.00+ this morning.
But what left me massively annoyed/​unhappy, was that:
A-​the shave job on my cat was haphazard and poorly done.
B-​the clinic didn’t even bother to attempt to remove the lubricant from her body.
For $ 500.00, I expect more than a very messy shave job and sticky, oily mess for me to clean up.
Some reviews here say the prices are «reasonable.» I guess I’ve been visiting all the right places, because I found that 500.00 plus HST for an Ultrasound to be off the charts. Cost aside, I wouldn’t have minded so much had the checkout-​receptionist been even a bit conversant, friendly, or accommodating, and had my cat been cleaned up.

My name is Fernanda. I am a volunter with the TNR. I foster cats to get them homes. I also Trap and Neuter and release cats if ferral. One of my 4 month foster kitten. Was neutered on April 20, 2015. She got sick while in my care. She was to be adopted. Took her to the clinic at 530am on April 27, 2015 vets there took her in so fast and tried to get her the best help they could. Unfortunately she did not make it.
I so appreciate them for there kindness and understanding, very sympathetic to the kitten and to me as well. They were also very patient with helping me to make the final decision of what would be best for her. God Bless them. I strongly recommend them to any one at any time.

I’d say the best vet I’ve ever worked with. i have worked with arguably the 3 best veterinarians in North America. It’s a tie for first. The most critical element is that they saved my dogs life. They did it with medical expertise. They did it with compassion. They did it with forthright information-​being sensitive, but honest. He had a very serious condition that if not recognized immediately and treated is fatal. They saved him. And then as he had other, more minor issues, they welcomed him back. And genuinely enjoyed seeing him. Initially, I worked with Michael Goldstein, but eventually worked with multiple doctors. Michael made himself available to me –like a concerned friend would-​never being annoyed or impatient with my questions. All the doctors were sympathetic and responsive. IF you need an emergency vet-​go to Central Toronto. They are remarkable, capable, compassionate folks that will not only give your pet the best medical care, they will validate that our pets are important and will be treated with all the concern you can imagine.

Dr. Donaldson and the staff here were amazing. They took the time to make sure that I was comfortable by offering me water or coffee (which sounds small, but really was comforting). They also explained what was happening in my kitty’s X-​ray, and all of the different options that I had. They even only charged me for half of the cost of the X-​ray because the last photo my cat had refused to stay still. Overall, I am incredibly happy and would recommend it highly.

My puppy LeBron broke his leg and after weeks of trouble at another vet, I was referred to CTVRC. I was immediately impressed by the professionalism of the staff, along with their obvious love of animals. They made me feel welcome and the doctor was very concerned with ensuring LeBron get’s the right method of treatment. I will continue making the 30 minute commute to CTRVC as opposed to going anywhere closer!

Absolutely phenomenal vets and staff! They saved my dog’s life after she was hit by a car. Everyone there went above and beyond to save Daisy and nurse her back to health! If you have an emergency don’t even think about going anywhere else!

If you have ever had an ill pet and had to make a decision about emergency care you know how scary it can be. Emotionally and financially frightening. Not only is this clinic state of the art, packed with knowledgeable doctors and caring staff-​but they don’t take advantage of your misfortune by abusing your pocket book. The prices were very reasonable for an emerg clinic and the care was out of this world wonderful!
My cat Samuel was very ill — dehydrated, not eating, losing weight. He was rapidly deteriorating within a week. I brought him to my regular vet and they recommended 24 hr care. I was sent to CTVRC where the staff was waiting for me and Samuel to arrive. I left him there and the staff assured me he was in good hands. The next morning Dr. Goldstein called me and proudly reported «Your boy is eating like a champ.» The fluids and antibiotics were working and Samuel was making a turn around for the better. He was there for 5 days and I was able to visit every day as the clinic does provide a family room with a comfy couch.
Dr. Goldstein is one of the most amazing vets I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and has a real love for animals. I always laugh when he picks up Samuel after an examination and cradles him in his arms as he talks to me about the next course of action to be taken. He really does care about his patients!
Dr. Goldstein, not sure when you fell out of heaven, but I sure am glad you fell in my neck of the woods… you are truly an awesome doctor and an amazing person.

These guys are the best. When my dog was first diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Finora went through treatment options with us, gave us realistic expectations, and listened to all our concerns. We chose to try more aggressive surgery before opting for radiation and thanks to the skill of Dr. Boyd my dog no longer has cancer. My dog still has to be monitored regularly and when we were given the option of doing follow-​up monitoring with our regular vet or Dr. Finora we didn’t even have to think about it. I don’t know what the future will bring for my dog, but it is very reassuring to know this team will be there and I will not have to doubt whether she’s getting the right care.

I don’t know where to start. Without Dr. Goldstein and his team I never would have had an extra year with my precious Daisy Duke. They are professional, kind and caring made. They made me feel comfortable and the staff was always there for my husband and I throughout my Daisy’s cancer. Their love for animals, and the personal care they gave Daisy will never be forgotten! Thank you Dr. G, I feel so blessed to have met you. You are my Vet for Life!

Very compassionate, thorough, with a side of realism.
A year ago yesterday we said good bye to our awesome dog Sierra. A few months prior to that our doctor gave us the best advice to know when it’s time, and in such a nice and kind way. I thank them dearly for their care and sympathy through a tough time.
I have never seen such complete examinations every time. They don’t just check for what you think is wrong, they try to get the full picture. It’s a no brainer go to for emergency needs. If only they did regular practice.
