Chatime 日出茶太

Chatime is usually my go-​to place for bbt. I always order the Brown Rice Milk Green Tea and it is always on par. I get it with less sugar and less ice and it’s just perfect! However, at this location (like many have noted) the consistency is just not always here. I didn’t taste the brown rice flavour. It tasted like watered down milk tea, worse than the ones you make at home with a packet! Their pudding barely taste like anything either. A hint of sweetness and again, verryyy subtle; almost taste like bland jelly. Quite disappointed as I was looking forward to having a nice cup of bbt.
My friend ordered the Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jelly and I had a sip of it and right off the bat, the «roasted» tea flavour was not all there. It was very subtle and not as strong compared to the other location’s I’ve had it at.
It takes awhile for them to make your drinks as well even though there were 2 people making the drinks along with 1 taking the orders. I waited for almost 15mins for two drinks. Service was pretty slow at this location.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love Chatime however, this location just doesn’t do it for me.

I like them but I find that this location isn’t very consistent. I usually order the roasted grass jelly milk tea half sweet no ice — sometimes the flavour is there sometimes it’s not.
Also, the layout for this location really suck. There is no room to stand or walk especially if there is a line. They are also very slow…

There’s not much to say about this place. My experiences have all been great. Decent service and the drinks are consistent with other locations. For the size of this Chatime, there are a good amount of seats. It can get a lot busier at night.

Brown Sugar Milk Pudding Tea ($ 4.70R) — Pudding is very muted in flavour so you can’t get sick of it. Tastes like egg flan or something of the sort. The milk tea has a more delicious warm taste to it. It’s very comforting. However ask for «no ice» because when I ask for «less ice» it still filled up one quarter of the drink.
Mango Slush — Tastes like those mango gummies. Pree good with half sweetness. Don’t get any toppings. Trust me it’s better off that way since it already has a strong flavour.

My bf had a crush for mango and he tried the #5 mango juice with lyche jelly and tapioca
Turned out to be very sweet– the drink tastes like cheap mango juice made from artificial flavour. I’m pretty sure this mango juice has no mango at all.
We ended up wasting 80% of the drink and drive to green grotto to grab some real drinks.

Chatime has been popping up almost every where in the city lately. And lots of people I know have been raving about it. I finally tried it and it’s SOOOOO OVERRATED!
I played it safe and got a taro slush, their taro is very different compared to every other place. Firstly, it’s not purple… It’s more of an off white colour but you can see bits and pieces of stuff in the drink. It didn’t taste like any taro I’ve ever tried before. If anything I guess it tasted more natural? Don’t get me wrong, it was made well there was nothing wrong with it, there’s just nothing special about it. Within 5 minutes of drinking it, I concluded that people hyped up Chatime way too much. It’s nothing special. I wouldn’t necessarily buy Chatime again though.

This place probably has the best bubble tea in scarborough. It’s also one of the better chatimes, the downtown location always has huge lineups and for some reason the drinks never taste as good. I like this place because it never has a huge line, there’s places to sit and all the drinks always taste really good. My favourite is the matcha red bean milk tea. In comparison to the downtown location you can actually taste a difference, I assume that since the downtown chatime always has a huge crows they make everything in a hurry and don’t pay much attention to quality.

I’ve been here twice, for some reason, they’re not as fast at the other locations. Some of the employees spend a good amount of time socializing with each other and some customers while a long line forms. I wasn’t really impressed. The drinks are so-​so. I asked for less sugar (on two different occasions), pretty sure I got normal to more then normal sugar. It was super sweet — not what i ordered (TWICE). Not like the other Chatimes at all. I’d say it’s not up to par with the other locations yet and I don’t think it’s because the location is small. I think it’s because the employees don’t care.

One of the best boba shops in Scarborough out of all the options out there. Me and my friends usually come here after dinner to get ourself some sweet boba tea. Personally I enjoy the green tea with mousse the most out of 70+ different choices. Service here is decent but be aware that this place does get pretty busy.

I got my go-​to drink, grass jelly roasted milk tea, 30% sugar, and this is the first location that disappointed me with this drink. There wasn’t enough milk in it. It wasn’t creamy enough. Sad. On the upside, this is the location I got my first 10 points for vicinity at! Huzzah. Free drink next time.

Service: The service was quick and dirty as you would expect in any chatime.
Ambiance: Small space and long lineups. What else would you expect?!
Drinks: Sub-​par compared to most chatime, and super sweet even at 30% sugar. The colour for both drinks looks off…

Love chatime. Went to multiple locations in Toronto and Vancouver. This is the only chatime that doesn’t have consistency and the taste changes every time. Tapioca (pearl) sometime soft and sometimes hard. Odd setup for takeout have to walk through people to get out. For bubble tea it is a little pricey but the tea still taste pretty good compare to most.

Can’t go wrong with the Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jelly, half sugar less ice– it’s so damn good. I’ve tried other flavours but I’m usually disappointed so I haven’t tried much of the menu.

This is one of the only ChaTimes that doesn’t have a line forming every time the doors open. It’s rather small in comparison and parking can be a pain as it shares the parking lot with a multitude of other tiny restaurants.
The wifi connection is amazing here if you’re looking for a place to study.
The drinks are on par with the ChaTime expectation.
ie. The tapioca is always chewy and the grass jelly always fresh.
The washrooms and overall store is very clean with the staff cleaning the table and often sweeping the floor.

The original milk bubble tea here is really good. I’m a big fan of most of their bubble teas. I am glad they offer free wifi here also.

Absolutely the number 1 place that I get my bbt. Tapioca is always tasty and service is relatively fast. Try any of their signature QQ drinks — and sign up for their reward points to get free drinks! I go here pretty much once a week and never thought to Unilocal.Roasted milk tea is amazing, grapefruit QQ is the summer drink of time, mango juice QQ is on fire. Get the pudding to add on!
Not alot of room to hang out during prime time hours but its pretty deserted during the day so you’ll have plenty of room. Who cares, just grab it to go and have a party.
Don’t think. Just drink.

As always, Chatime has not yet disappointed me. I love how you can adjust the sugar level as well as the amount of ice. Any time a friend suggest bbt, I say chatime :) This location is relatively new and the interior is decently clean and not too crowded.

It’s my go-​to location for bubble tea since it’s so close to home. I usually only get the Chatime Pearl Milk Tea — which is good enough for me. I don’t stay to drink the bubble tea here — I get it to go — as it’s quite small and they don’t always turn on the air conditioning. It can get quite stuffy in here. Nevertheless, I’m here for the milk tea, not the atmosphere.

I love love love their mousse drinks! My favourite one is their Matcha mousse. Definitely best made with less to no ice because the mousse topping sticks to the ice when the drink is finished. Also, the mousse itself has some sweetness to it, so I always ask for less or no sugar in my drink. I’ve only tried their pearl (tapioca) and coffee jelly toppings. Their tapioca is very good; just the right texture. I found the coffee jelly to have a nice, sweet, coffee flavour, but a bit on the hard side.
Our drinks were made in a decent amount of time even though there was a line. Out of all the Chatime locations I’ve been to, this one’s the most quiet and has less wait time.
Interior décor is pretty nice, everything is white, bright, and purple. They also have a mini showcase of food (donuts, cronuts, etc), but from my visits, it’s not always fully stacked.
I’ve visited Chatime many times in the past, but it was only yesterday that I got my own Chatime rewards card because they don’t really ask if you’d like to join or if you have one. So if you love bbt, it’s worth to ask the lady for a card and start earning points :)

I have been coming to various Chatime locations since it’s first GTA spot opened, lining up in previously snaked-​out-​the-​door queues only a few years ago. Nowadays, with multiple Chatime having opened since then, the lineups are less long but each location still constantly bustling with customers eager for their cups of bubble tea.
The usual fruit and milk mix varieties are available, along with more tea-​based offerings and unique options like the Strawberry Pudding Au Lait (strawberry milk tea with a scoopful of jelly-​like yellow custard at the bottom). Choose the amount of ice and sugar you’d like in your personalized cup. The one thing that I dislike about Chatime is the fact that they use dairy product powder in their drinks rather than actual milk (with the exception of the beverages actually marked «fresh milk»). With the amount of money that Chatime makes, I think it would be more fair of them to just use real milk.
There are usually about 5 tables at each location, seating roughly 4 people per table group.
Every Chatime accepts credit card (a rarity in the land of bubble tea joints) and has their own points program system which will be tied to your cellphone number. These points allow you one free small sized cup with your choice of single topping for every 10 cups purchased. After purchasing 100 cups total over your entire life, you’ll earn Chatime Elite status granting you a free Large sized cup with unlimited toppings plus a free doughnut, per every 10 cups. The doughnuts look adorable but also super dry.
Not the greatest perks, but the day you finally hit coveted Chatime Elite status you may find yourself slowly raising up your cellphone in both hands, joyously crying «Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba!!!», presenting your card Simba-​style whilst staring deeply and meaningfully into the cashier’s eyes.
If your experience is anything like mine, they will most likely have no idea what you’re talking about. Just take your drink from the counter, walk away slowly, and enjoy your bubble tea.

Wasn’t it just 3 or so years ago when Chatime was only in Downtown?
The reviews I’m seeing here are saying how this Chatime has the least lineups out of all the branches in the GTA. Either business has significantly picked up, or they didn’t go on a weekend… cause the lineup was out the door last night at around 10pm! As well, since this Chatime is smaller than the other branches it made finding a seat and even walking in the store difficult. The waiting area for your order was also not set up well, as you would be standing in front of a table where a group would likely be sitting to have their meals.
In terms of the drinks themselves, they were about par with the other locations, although my hazelnut chocolate milk tea had quite a bit of chocolate syrup sunk to the bottom. A shake up and down after and everything was good.
This branch also has the largest supply of baked goods out of the branches I frequent. I had two extreme chocolate muffins, and they were actually quite good!
I would visit here if I’m in the same plaza for dinner and whatnot. However, I would certainly not go out of my way just to come here.

Not that many people flock here, so no big line.
This location is not up par yet with the Warden and Steeles one, in terms of the drinks always being consistent and customer service wise. But they are still kind of new, so I won’t go lower than 4 stars considering Chatime is my favorite bubble tea place.
Even though the Midland one is alot closer for me, I still go to the Warden branch. Once this location gets a hold of consistency, I’ll come back.
This location used to be an old bubble tea house with a One Piece animé theme.

Taste like every other chatime around~ nothing special… The décor is pretty interesting since the ceiling looks really neat and creative. But space wise its pretty small compared to the richmondhill/​warden one.
Other than that… overall good !!
I always get the Honey Lemon Aloe ! and it tastes amazing cause the aloe is so juicy and sweet and the honey lemon just fits so well with it…

I love chatime and as an elite member I have to say the people here making drinks are inexperienced and the drinks at Gibson chatime are definitely better.

This Cha Time definitely has the least line ups out of them all, but you’ll still be waiting a good 15 minutes on a busy day. My personal favorite part about this location is that it is relatively easy to find parking nearby. The seating is minimal, but I usually just get my drink to go.
The #2 80% sugar is great like the other Cha Times and their slush drinks are standard across the board. Make sure to use your Cha Time points card to earn free drinks as well.
Overall I don’t mind coming here for a drink if the line ups are small. A nice quick treat on the go!

Another Chatime opens up. Just as good as the others. Got my usual large egg pudding milk tea for $ 5. Small place but still a decent amount of seating. Service was fast and friendly.

Line up no more!
With all these new Chatime location opening up all around Toronto and GTA, I think the days that people would line up for over 1 hour is gone!
I came here on a snowy day. maybe because of the weather, there was no lines at all even the store is still doing the Grand Opening buy 1 get 1 free specials!
The staff though was a little slow in both order taking and preparation. I can’t imagine how it would be when the place get busy.
Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jello 30% Sweet Less Ice ($ 4.70) can be a little more creamy but the grass jello was still so good.

First time coming to the newest chatime branch in the GTA area. Even tho the P mall location is pretty close, I guess Scarborough needed one for all the people who need their chatime fix nearby.
As usual chatime has the normal line up of drinks they have at all locations. Nothing really special about this one compared to the others. The roasted milk tea which I normally get still tastes the same as any other place but I did feel like it was a bit more watered down than the other times I drank the same drink. And for once! I never had to line up!!! Since there was barely anyone there which was a surprise. I find that this location parking isn’t as tough since the plaza has a shit ton of parking spots. Also got a nice discount since I knew the supervisor there. :)
Layout looks the same as all the others. But this one is more spacious in sitting down. As for the other locations there more small and crammy. This location is decent. Not a lot to say much is different for this place than the others. Just that if your around the Midland/​Finch area and your craving for a chatime, it’s right within that area.
