Neat little studio! I stumbled upon this place on my visit to the Distillery District. I’m not sure how many people actually buy their art, but these guys are pretty creative with some of their pieces. Most of their pieces are done with Rubik’s Cubes, and some with other material, like record discs for example. Many of them you can’t tell what it is up close, but if you take a few steps back, its pretty clear what you’re looking at. Its a small studio with an upstairs area. The guys working here are friendly and encouraged picture taking. If you’re in the area, even if you’re not shopping, its definitely worth a look.

Cube Works is a fun studio in the Distillery District that specializes in Rubik’s Cube art but has all sorts of other works playing with pop art generally. The costs are out of my league, but it’s a good gallery.

Cool little studio in the distillery. I bought my sister a super-mario themed art piece here for a reasonable $ 80. The larger pieces are more expensive, but they are impressive. I talked to the owner and he has a designer that does the images on computer — then they get told how to configure/adjust a rubic’s cube to get the actual colours needed. Pretty cool!

Very cool little art studtio. A variety of art work is for sale, mainly made out of Rubik’s Cubes, but some made from other materials. Prices are very reasonable. For example, one medium-sized piece that I liked was priced at $ 500, which is not a lot to pay for something really unique. Even if you aren’t shopping, it’s definitely worth a look.

I stumbled into Cube Works while wandering through the Distillery District on a Saturday — and woah, was I impressed! The Cube Works artists make most of their pieces from Rubik’s Cubes — but also some out of different materials such as dice and spools of thread. They use them to make some pretty amazing pop culture type pieces — many inspired by musical artists or Andy Warhol pieces. When I went in, I was told to look through the pieces I couldn’t quite understand with a cell phone camera — and strangely enough, the pieces become so much more clear! Definitely recommend it if you can’t quite«grasp» the pieces. While I can probably never afford the pieces I want(*sigh* Marilyn Monroe Andy Warhol made with spools of thread) which run a few thousand dollars, there are still some pretty cool affordable pieces, mainly inspired by nintendo games(~$ 40). This place is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area, even if you’re not looking to make a serious art purchase in the future — it’s great just to browse!

Cube Works Studio is one of the numerous Artists studio in the Distillery District. It is really cool to able to talk to artists about their works in person and it is a rewarding experience for both. The goal of Cube Works Studio is «meant to inspire, unite and invoke a sense of nostalgia by using common, tangible objects and methods to create impressive and entertaining works of art that can be appreciated and enjoyed by all.» I find those Rubik’s Cube work of art that displayed in the main floor of the studio really neat! The topics includes Hollywood celebrities, Renaissances Master pieces and Andy Warhol’s themed artworks. hey even simple people like me understand what I am looking at! I am really in awe when I saw the reproduction of «Hands of God”(used over 12000 Rubik’s Cube) which is the World Record Holder for Guinness… They also have a great website that display all their work of «art»! Now visiting Cube Works Studio makes me have the urge to dig out my Rubiks’ cube and try solving it again! :P
