We were the first Leonidas Chocolate Store opened in Canada, since 1989 and now operating under our own brand — De Meersman Belgian Chocolate — specializing in mouth watering fresh Belgian chocolates.

De Meersman works with world renowned, award winning Belgian chocolatiers like Centho and Chocolatier M. Our products are handmade and sold on a smaller scale, only available in very exclusive stores around the world. We are exclusive re-​selers in Canada.

Born in Belgium and raised amongst the best chocolate in the world, Guido De Meersman grew up passionate about chocolate. He entered the chocolate business as a young man, and over the years, earned the status of connoisseur.

In 1989, Guido began bringing top quality Belgian chocolate to Canada. Over the past 25 years, the demand for top quality but affordable chocolate grew tremendously. Guido perceived a need to bring to Canada more variety, superior quality, and the experience of true luxury in every bite.

With 40 years of experience and knowledge, Guido toured Belgium in search of the world’s most creative and talented chocolatiers. He now operates under his own name, De Meersman, to bring you collections of luxurious pralines and truffles, all hand-​made by small, family-​run chocolatiers located in the Flanders countryside of Belgium.
