The Dog Father is a great store to either pop into and check out all the great products on display or to just peak into the windows after-​hours to see what they have in stock.
The store is smallish but definitely packs in all the different items a dog owner would ever need. I always stop by to pick up rubber dog boots in the winter and buddy belts when I need them.
I do believe that the Dog Father does cater to a particular demographic, and that is completely fine because there are boutique in all sorts of industries that do that. This store is not for 100% all dog owners, unlike places such as Petsmart. This is a high-​end pet boutique, and the prices definitely reflect that. As someone who sees themselves as more of the middle of the road type person, I go into the Dog Father for certain things, but also know I will be buying other things at the big box pet store. I will say that on more than one occasion I have been searching for particular items and only found them at the the Dog Father!
Staff has always been friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t suggest bringing your dog in with you unless they are there for grooming services already or are very small, not a lot room in the store.

Dogfather and Co. is a wonderful store. I have been shopping at the store and have worked closely with Kristina and Natalie for a few years. They have beautiful collars, dinnerware, leashes and buddy belt dsigns for all sizes of dogs. My havanese is the best dressed dog out there thanks to Dogfather and Company. They have provided such beautiful accessories including pretty paws flowers and bows as well as bling charms. The toys and treats are fantastic too. I love this store and recommend it highly to anyone looking for doggywear and accessories. Great help and they go above and beyond to help me when I am there.

Previously, I had written a bad review about my experience while buying a winter jacket for my puppy last fall. The store owner sent me a personalized apology so we decided to try the store again!!!
Our regular Dog Groomer had been grooming him since he was 3 months old … She moved out of province so we were searching for a New Groomer for our Baby Schichon Boy. After reading so many great reviews about the Groomers at Dogfather & Co we decided to try one of the groomers out … Karolina … She was very knowledgeable and kind and really listened … our puppy looks so fantastic and she really took her time and did exactly what we asked her do to and more. He came up looking gorgeous and tail wagging happy and we have already booked our next appointment … Thank you Karolina & Dogfather & Co!!!

This has to be the all time best dog store I have ever been to. I’ve been in Toronto for a while now and have been looking for good selection of natural dog treats. Dogfather has the biggest selection I’ve ever seen. The shop is deceivingly small so I didn’t expect that much but once I was actually in there I realized they have everything. I went in for liver treats and came out with a bed, a harness and leash set, a feeder, a rain coat, 3 toys, and 2 different kinds of liver. While I was there the girl behind the counter told me about their paw spaw grooming. I had been using petsmart since I got here, they’re not bad I just felt that they were a little rough with my dog, so I made and appointment for the following Tuesday. OMG was my dog gorgeous. I think the groomer’s name was Caroline, she was so sweet to my dog and he came up with a happy wagging tail. Two days later when we walked by the store he actually pulled me pack in, that’s how happy he was. This is now my go to store for all things dog.

This is my favourite dog store. I am so impressed with everything they carry. They have gorgeous collars, leashes, and custom designed beds. Everything is fashionable but versatile at the same time. The service and grooming are also amazing!

Discovered a new gem today — Dogfather and Co. Located just two stores North from Rosedale subway station The Dogfather is a great one stop shop! With their talented groomers, its adorable K9 Café, quality products and friendly service your dog is bound to leave with a happy tail. I was impressed with the attention and knowledge I received from Kristina today and will be sure to recommend Dogfather and Co. to dog owners near and far.

I just wanted to add that Melissa, the second groomer I tried at Dogfather, was equally great. It was a awesome cut and my little guy seemed happy again. Had to wait a week for an appointment but that was fine. Picked up some unique new bowls as well.

I just got my first puppy. The sales person helped me pick some key items that a dog owner needs! I love the cute sweater and boots for walks!

My St Bernard goes nuts when he figures out he’s going there. He can’t wait to get inside and get beautified. They do a great job.

A great easy stop on your Rosedale stroll. Treat your dog at K9 Café with some organic doggie frozen yogurt, or how about some organic doggie pepperoni. Great staff to answer any questions you have to get the best for your pooch. You can also book an appointment at the Paw Spa for grooming. The groomer really took their time and was very gentle. A lot of merchandise a little on the shi shi side, but overall, a great one stop shop and fantastic service.

Dogfather & Company for sure is a nice pet supply store! Talking about you have too much money and you don’t know where to spend it!!? Hey come over here and you won’t be disappointed.
Sometimes I think pet owners can get overboard of what cute things they can get for their dogs. but really spending $ 21 for a stuffed toy… or a Tierra Bowl for $ 60 or a Art dog bed for $ 1400!
But I can guarantee one thing is all their doggie treats are human grade and awesome and good for your K9 friend.
My dog may have to look for a new mama if he expect me to shop here for him!
But definitely a nice place to browse around and pick up some treats! And make sure you ask your dog not to touch anything, if he breaks something he is in BIG trouble!

Dogfather offers a reasonable selection of all things dog, catering mostly to smaller dogs, but the prices are high. It comes in useful for those special occasions when your four-​legged friend simply must wear rhinestones and sleep on satin.
A cannot miss is their hilarious postcards, available at the front desk. They essentially summarize the insecurities of the fashionistas that shop for their dogs here– but I digress.
I take my dog to the groomer here because she is WONDERFUL — she really cares about her canine customers, and takes her time making the experience less stressful for them. She even taught me how to properly brush my dog, and gave me a hug on a later date when I returned with a mat-​free pooch!
Even though my little pooch would rather eat vomit* then get groomed, she still gives her groomer kisses when it is all over with — and when was the last time you kissed your hairdresser?
So two stars for the store, and four stars for the groomer, and three overall.
*weelll, actually, she quite likes vomit — we find a lot of it around my neighbourhood on our Sunday morning walks. bleecch!

It’s a great store with doggie treats, and accessories… a great selection of apparel, ranging from cotton to wool blend…
you can find jackets in real PUCCI material.

I must admit that the store really looks cute and have lots of variation for our pampered pets.
But what if you can find the same/​similar items in another pet shop that sells cheaper?
I bought a box of cookies from Dogfather. Later did I find out that the same box of cookies cost half the price elsewhere. :(

When it comes to my precious pooch Lexie, only the best doggy fashions, treats, toys and beds are for her.
This is where Dogfather & Company comes in.
This store is simply adorable and pet friendly! With such cold winters in Toronto, I venture to Dogfather to check out the latest in warm coats and sweaters for the pup every year.
The treats they have are a favourite of my dog’s — particularly their special homemade cookies and cookie mints, which are perfect for freshening up my dog’s breath.
Another thing I love there are the cute and creative food and water bowls! Let’s just say I have decked out my dog’s dishes in shades of pink, tons of flowers and patterns fit for a canine princess.

I love the selection they have here — I got the Ruff Wear boots for my dog there as well as unique sweaters, organic treats and quality leads. You should go if you want to see Burberry, cashmere etc for your dog.

My pup Ozzy is my baby! There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for him. Except as I found out yesterday, buy him a $ 1400 dog bed! Yikes-​bikes! I’m all for spoiling my dog, but being that indulgent, well the jury is out on that one still.
That being said, there are a lot of really nice cute and nice dog accessories here. All products look like they are able to stand the test of time (for a $ 60 dog bowl, it better last the life of my dog)! The cutest thing in the store in my opinion is the leash holder. It’s basically the tail end of a dog, which you pin to the wall, and the dog tail is used as a hook to hang your dog’s leash. Ironically, that is probably the cheapest item in the store (my opinion on it being the best item holds no correlation to the price of the item. I swear).
If you can afford this store, all the power to you. Just keep in mind, little Cujo isn’t going to notice the difference between a Tierra dog bowl and a puddle of standing water.

Pugoween is coming up so I took my dog Alfie to Dogfather today — an adorable little shop (with the best name ever!) in Rosedale.
Seeking a costume that would beat out any Toronto pug for first prize at this strange costume party I was disappointed that the closest thing to a costume that they had was a knitted sweater with a skull and crossbones. The owner was very helpful though, telling me that if I wanted my dog to dress up as a bride or groom he would be happy to take his measurements and put in an order because they often have customers whose dogs are in their weddings. I didn’t want to spend the amount it would probably cost me to buy my own Vera Wang dress on my pug’s Halloween costume, despite the importance of the situation, so I politely declined.
Nonetheless, if you are in the market for a doggie indulgence or a special gift for a pet lover, this is the place to go.
