Service was good. But they have the worst instant coffee. Don’t order it ! Leave if you have to to get coffee! Fish and chips were mediocre. Not a big fan of their fries, it doesn’t even taste that good even when it’s dipped in tarter sauce :(Good thing the battered fish made for it !

I went to this location a couple days ago with a friend. This place has always been pretty reliable — decent food, decent prices, decent service. This time, the service was exceptional! I’m not sure her name, but whoever worked lunch by herself on Friday is the best server I’ve had in a long time. She was friendly, quick, made great recommendations and was just an overall pleasure. The food was pretty good. I had the meatloaf sandwich which, at $ 12.99, is well worth it. My friend got the grilled chicken sandwich and enjoyed her meal as well. It’s nice to know you can still go to a run of the mill pub and have a great time. I wish I knew the server’s name because she definitely deserves praise! I’ll have to go back for the fish tacos that she so highly recommended.

Which Fox is this? Does it matter. They really feel all the same. Another reviewer said«uncompelling» and that’s exactly what they are. Do yourself a favour and go to a real pub with actual décor and a darkness of soul that can only be filled by whiskeys of dark colours The Fox is fine in a pinch but you can do better and so can they.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Server was nice and recommended the fish tacos from the Chefs Menu, they were very good. Outside seating was comfortable, unfortunately there weren’t a lot of people there but the food was still slow. Free wifi for travelers like us!

I went with a friend for karaōke. On the upside, it’s close to the subway, the space is huge, and they have karaōke three nights out of the week. I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. As an example, we asked the hostess where to get paper to write down karaōke songs. Instead of telling us where to pick it up or passing us a piece she dismissed us saying to talk to the server. We approached a server, not the server for our section so we need to wait for the other one. Ok… Get the right server, we need to talk to the karaōke host. We finally get paper from him along with a dose of bad attitude. I won’t be bothered to go back.

Beer selection isn’t the greatest. Service was slow, the staff weren’t too attentive, and we found the food lacking in rich flavours.

I am very disappointed that they’ve replaced the Pete Rock Radio Show; frankly it was the only redeeming quality to this establishment. The food is sub-par, the service is terrible and the interior is extremely dated. I will not be returning here.

My co-workers and I have been coming here for years after our department lunch for a good time of drinks and fun Karaōke. After what happened this past weekend, we will not be returning, ever… We normally bring a large crowd in and we always spend at least over 1000 dollars and have always made sure to pay in full(with gratuity) every time. There was some false hope when we saw the new management banner. Service was as slow as ever(not because it was busy, but you just seemed to not really care about serving us). Some of the attendees mentioned to the server that some of the drinks seemed like they did not contain alcohol(straight tonic, no gin) as just an observation to the bartender. Instead of taking the constructive feedback, you had the tenacity to tell us that we were assured that the drinks all had alcohol.(then proceeded to serve the alcohol and mixers separate from there on out). You probably cut us off in the worst professional way possible. I am not fighting the fact that you did, I agree that it is your responsibility to know when enough is enough but teach your wait staff some grace and finesse in these situations. I’d rather just be told to we were done and given our bills rather than sit there and be ignored for 35 minutes. For the record, during that time, I tried to order food, not alcohol to help sober some people up but instead I wasn’t even looked at. We get the picture, you don’t appreciate good business and would like us to take our money elsewhere. Bravo…

I know it’s a chain and I’m not a fan of chains in The Village but they really have done their best to fit in and I feel comfortable being a Gay man in there. The best comfort food

I have recently signed up to Unilocal & would like to share with you a memorably bad experience last summer at this fox and fiddle. The service is shocking — the waitress took our order, forgot the order, passed it on to a second waitress, who brought us the wrong drinks. In the mean time we were sat on extremely uncomfortable chairs, squeezed on to a patio that is smaller than most in the city & were mesmerized at how this place was so busy — it was getting absolutely nothing right. Needless to say we left without tipping after one beer — a rarity in Toronto but I would recommend this to nobody, ever.

Recently I had the pleasure of re-visiting one of my favourite hangouts. I was a frequent customer of the Fox and Fiddle location at John St. and Richmond St. in Toronto, years ago. After moving around a lot, I’m back in Toronto for good, and got to check out the location at 27 Wellesley St. E, in Toronto. I had never been to this Fox and Fiddle location, and I was surprised by how big it was! There are three floors, all with TV’s and/or projection screens that show all the biggest games and pay-per-view events. Want to know the best part? There is no cover charge to get in! So you and your friends can go in and watch the next UFC fight in a fun environment on a big screen! This specific location also offers karaōke nights Thursday thru Saturday! Bonus: not only do they have a heated patio, but also a fooze-ball table. I challenge ANYONE to a fooze-ball game! Bring it! Any time I have been to a Fox and Fiddle, I have always had a great experience, and this time was no exception. Walking in, we were instantly greeted with a friendly staff member who showed us to a table and gave us menus. The Fox and Fiddle menus have been recently revamped, and there are SO many options! Going to a pub like Fox and Fiddle, some would expect simple pub staples to overwhelm the menu, but there are some new additions that you would not expect! The menu consists of old pub favourites, with new twists! From Potstickers(dumplings stuffed with sesame jack cheese, chicken and vegetables served with an amazing Asian sesame dip) to a Butter Chicken Poutine(pub chips covered with our butter chicken sauce topped with melted cheese curds and fresh cilantro) to Chipotle Chicken Wrap(breaded crispy chicken strips, lettuce, scallions and melted marble cheese tossed in an ancho-chipotle sauce wrapped in a soft tortilla) or even the Pulled Pork Flatbread(stone baked flatbread topped with pulled pork sautéed in a chipotle sauce topped with Korean BBQ sauce and melted marble cheese); Fox and Fiddle has stepped up their menu! I made sure to show up HUNGRY because I wanted to try a lot of items off of the menu. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered: 1lb Wings — Half with Whiskey BBQ sauce, half with Medium sauce. The wings were MASSIVE, seriously. I’m a bit of a chicken wing connoisseur, and I loved these wings. The Whisky BBQ sauce was very tasty, but I’m a sucker for hot wings! Crispy Shrimp — These shrimp were exactly as described. Crispy! Perfectly cooked and the sweet chilli sauce was a perfect companion. Pulled Pork Flatbread — The picture does not do this dish justice! Cheese was melted and smothered over a mix of pulled pork sautéed in a chipotle sauce, I couldn’t stop eating it! Chipotle Chicken Wrap — When this dish came out we were in shock at how large the wrap was. I’m not sure if it seemed so big because in reality it was, or if it was just because we were stuffing our faces with so much food already! LOL! I personally didn’t try this item, but I was told it was quite tasty and worthy of a re-order upon our next visit. Fish and Chip — This is not only a pub favourite, but a personal favourite. The batter wasn’t too heavy and oily, which was nice. And the chips were perfectly cooked with a little crisp.

Whenever I go to Toronto, I always stop here for food. It’s a little dark, the prices are kinda high for what you get, and the service is sometimes lacking. Nonetheless I enjoy the patio and they always have sports on. I enjoy people watching and the view.

Worst service ever experienced at a bar. My bf and I met up with a friend. Sat at a table for about 5 – 10 mins and even though servers walked by many times we did not get served. Even made eye contact with a few and were still ignored. So we left, won’t waste money on shitty service.

The place is small and the food is not the best I’ve seen but the karaōke is amazing and the DJ is hilarious even though the song list is not big. Definitely a great karaōke destination.

The patio is reasonably quaint, but being across the street from the subway entrance does mean heavy foot traffic outside and a fair number of crazies walking past and they will not hesitate to ask you for money while you’re on this patio. Inside is too dark and dingey, and they have live music which is generally pretty bad and much too loud– the space is not big enough for a live band not to sound deafening. It’s very much a college type bar, the bar you go to because you just enrolled at Ryerson or UofT and you don’t know what a good pub is yet. It should be called«The Fox and the Fiddle’s adventures in mediocrity»

If you like pub food than this is the place for you. The night we went there was karaōke on the side where we usually eat so we ate at the bar side. New menu and the prices have gone up.

This isn’t a bad place to grab a beer with some of your friends. There’s a decent number of beers on tap and it usually isn’t busy, despite being right across from the subway station. The food is pretty good if you stick to wings and burgers. The Tex Mex burger is quite good. I’m not sure I’d order anything much«fancier» here. The service is good and the pub itself is average: decent chairs and tables and quite a few TVs.

I used to come to this place when it used to be Fiddler’s Green and to be honest, aside the sign in front, I would not had even noticed the difference. They both have the same vibe. Which is to say a divey looking bar. The best thing about this place is their patio at Front. It is nicely shaded during the summer and Wellesley is just quiet enough(sort of) that you are not distracted by traffic noise. Great place to have a few drinks. Inside is generally ‘meh’ typical pub like décor. Lots of greens, maybe the odd red and yellow. Like most British pubs. They do have Karaōke which is touch and go, since you normally get one or two large groups and the odd couples. But it never seems to be packed. I recommend it if you leave nearby and for the size. If you have a large party, which I do from time to time, then they can open the second floor room. So you can have it all to yourself free of charge. If your crowd is in pub-state-of-mind, then you can have a lot fun in this place.

Another installment of this uncompelling Toronto chain of pubs. Nothing surprising on the menu or on tap. The beer selection could be better. Food is okay. I found the interior quite minimal. There’s a decent enough patio, making this an option when the weather turns good and the hunt begins for a place, any place, that serves on a patio. The washroom signage is only one step less confusing than having a picture of Boy George for the men’s room and Annie Lennox for the women’s. The men’s room is called«foxes» and the women’s is called«vixens». Ever hear a person, even a drunk person, describe a fellow as a «fox»? The men’s room is only determinable by process of elimination(or reading the fine print). «I know for sure a woman is a vixen therefore…» I suspect this chain, and this location, trade largely on location. Steps away from Wellesley makes for a nice central location. Service is actually tops here and the waitresses are alluring attired in little red plaid miniskirts. So. That’s okay.
