Fuzz Wax Bar

Overall great experience. The girl was very friendly and informed about waxing. She had some great tips to maintain my eyebrows! I was scared because my last Brazilian really hurt but she was fast and efficient. The place was very clean too! I will be going back!
Also, I booked an appointment the day off surprisingly and they were on time when I arrived.

I like the pricing structure and booking appointments on line. I had a year contract so over that time I had a few different people do the wax, the last woman who did a few of mine burnt me each time even after I mentioned it (hurt for a few days after). I found the receptionist quite unfriendly as well. I decided not to renew, maybe I’ll try another location or something else completely.

I went here once to get a wax. They use the wax that dries hard and doesn’t require a fabric strip. I have never had a good experience with this kind of wax as I find it only rips the hair and doesn’t pull it out. The girl gave me an entire wax checking the strips each time and seeing that it was only ripping my hair and never said a thing! Needless to say she didn’t offer me a discount or my money back for essentially doing nothing for me and 12 hours later I had to shave.
Such a waste of money and time. I would never go back and never recommend this place to anyone. They do one thing and they don’t even do it right. If you have even remotely thick, or dark hair do not go here.

Ronalie at fuzz was great. She did an impeccable job with my Brazilian, leaving no strands of hair behind. I like that she did wax strips, hard wax, and tweezer to complete the job. She is very thorough.
The wax bar itself is nice and inviting. It is clean and smells like lemon juice.

So far so good! This is my second time here at this location and also my first time getting a Brazilian in over a year. So needless to say, I knew I as going to be in for some pain.
Upon arrival I was greeted by reception who already knew my name. When entering the wax room there is always a towel that you can hold during the process and baby wipes to clean yourself prior to wax for hygienic purposes obviously. The lady’s name who attended to me is Karen and she was totally awesome. She was extremely friendly, fast and comforting (she would tell me to take a deep breath before pulling off the wax strips). I would say the entire process took no longer than 10 minutes. She explained what she was doing every step of the way and used both soft and hard wax for different areas. Upon completion of my Brazilian she sprayed a «I Love My Muff» spray (lol I love the name) which is 100% natural and is recommend to use for a couple days post wax in order to ensure proper healing (to close pores and prevent any sensitivity reactions).
Anyways, while checking out I decided to get the Fuzz Faithful membership and buy the I Love My Muff lotion Karen recommended. It’s $ 35/​month which INCLUDES a Brazilian, whereas regular price here (and quite frankly anywhere else you go) is $ 50+. The membership comes with perks which includes discounts off products and other services. So if you are a monthly Brazilian kind of girl, this membership is definitely for you and cost efficient as well.
To sum up, although it is not the most pleasant process to get waxed, I love how comfortable the ladies make you feel and how fast they are at doing a great job. I would definitely recommend people to go here.

I just had my legs waxed there and I have to say I am super impressed! The detail and time spent on my waxing was amazing — I’m used to these quick in and out waxes that leave you feeling like you just got ripped off — but FUZZ took time and consideration to make sure that my wax was as gentle and clean as possible.
I will def be returning!

I have been coming to Fuzz on Queen for nearly a year and, contrary to some of the reviews here, I have always had fantastic, consistent service with Parul. She had me in and out within 7 minutes for my first Brazilian and, months later, it’s still the same. She recalls conversations that we’ve had and always takes the time to pick up the talk where we left off. She’s thorough in her work and is a joy. Front desk staff has also always been great with me. If you want to try Fuzz on Queen, ask for Parul!

Cancelling my membership here. I was a member for over a year and while I do enjoy the membership perks I don’t enjoy the lack of consistency and wax left over when my service is complete. I really dislike getting waxed and need a little incentive to do it every month like clean results each time.
Granted when I have complained in the past management has always offered me a free service which I have used. This is great but they don’t seem to improve on the quality of their services based on feedback. Based on the reviews here, I am not alone…
Too bad — I hope they improve.

I was very disappointed with the service in the new east end location. I came in for facial waxing one afternoon. By that evening, my face was still bright red. The next morning I woke up with angry red marks and white pustules over the entire area that had been waxed. I called to tell them what happened and ask for some advice on how to treat my skin. That was a Saturday. The staff called and gave me treatment advice consistent with a burn. The manager called me on the Monday and wanted me to come into the shop so she could see the problem for herself. I explained that I was at work and it was three days later so my face had started to heal on its own. I asked her how many things can go wrong with a wax? I think a bad wax job only yields certain results – a burn is a burn.
She was unsympathetic and treated me like I only wanted to get something free out of the deal. She ended up offering me a free wax service of my choice, but I would never go back. Bad service, bad attitude.

Went over for an appointment. Was late, called and said I would be there in 5 mins. This was fine according to the woman I spoke with on the phone. I arrived in my Über literally 2 mins late from the time I stated on the phone to which they said too bad they’re closing. I understand when someone is closing, but save me the money and the trip and tell me on the phone what time I need to be there by if you are. It’s 120 seconds. Really? It was very poorly handled #badcustomerservice A first time customer not coming back.

I went in there one morning and a really load obnoxious girl carelessly greeted me. She didn’t take good care of herself and I had desire to get my under arms and after wards my eyebrows taken care of. I witnessed how zero anything she gave was given and left many little hairs under my arms that I passed on my eye brows.
I went in the complimenting the idea of their salon, I live a block over — I’ll never go back.

I have a fuzz faithful membership which allows me to get a brazilian for $ 35 a month. They are super clean and the staff is friendly. I go to Parul almost exclusively except when she’s away and then I go to HER first choice to replace her Jane. Both are ridiculously skilled, quick, thorough and have great bed side manner. I highly recommend going to them and it’s 100% worth it to get one of their memberships (fuzz faithful is mine)

I went here for a Brazilian wax and was happy they were able to squeeze me in. When I arrived, I found the receptionist to be a bit cold and not very open to customers. The waxing itself was quick and was far less painful than I expected. The waxer was good about explaining what she was doing and helped me breath to reduce the pain. However, the final result wasn’t stellar – there was a lot of sticky wax left behind and although free wax removal strips are at the front, I feel like the waxer should take care of this. I also had a lot of hair left over, some of which was understandable because I had recently shaved, but other hairs were definitely long enough to have been removed. Over all, it was decent, but for the price I expected a better result.

Needed a new wax joint and Fuzz was able to fit me in same-​day for brows and Brazilian. Nadia was GREAT! Super fast, thorough and friendly– the holy trinity of waxing. The salon itself is in a great location and has a big window with bench seating that’s perfect for people watching if you’re into that kind of thing. It is priced on the higher end of waxing in the city but they have «memberships» for people who do multiple regular services with reduced pricing.

I get my Brazilians done here and have been happy with the service thus far.
I always have a different girl who does it and they have all done a good job. The prices are very reasonable for the area and if you do a lot of waxing, the membership is a good value, IMO.
They never try to up-​sell me anything, which I like, although I agree with others that the people who work here are sometimes slightly unprofessional. Last time I was there, they were chatting quite loudly about what sounded like a coworker and they weren’t being very… nice. Anyhow, that doesn’t effect the price or quality of my service, so I personally don’t care, but I can see how that would be a turn-​off for some.
Overall, it’s a great little waxing place, no complaints.

The one time the girl did them a little uneven, but I’ve been back numerous times and I’ve always been happy. They can always get me in within the same day and the price is good.
One of my big things is that it’s clean and unlike the previous reviewers all the staff have always been friendly to me.

I went to Fuzz after doing a bit of research and chose it because they specialize in waxing. I thought the training and services would be better than a nail salon that offers the same services.
I was quite disappointed.
The prices indicate a high level of the knowledge and expertise however, the technician who worked on me was no such expert. She was super friendly & sweet but my wax was a big mess.
I had high expectations which Fuzz Wax Bar did not come close to meeting.

I have had at least 6 waxes at Fuzz. The first time I went there, the girl was awesome. Did an amazing job with my Brazillian (even coached me through it — distracting me from the inevitable pain) BUT she was very quick.
When I went back, I was sad to hear that she was no longer there (which seems to happen a lot there). The next girl was kind of a hit or miss. One time she was amazing… the next time she missed spots… I ended up with redness a couple of times (definitely not ideal when wearing tiny bikinis). She was very friendly though.
I have stopped going. Unfortunately, I like consistency. Good place for just your eyebrows… I would think twice about your private spots.

I went to Fuzz because I received a 25% off coupon and thought I would try it out. I went on a Friday after work without an appointment and they were able to see me within 20 min which was great.
Two things made this experience less than stellar for me. The first was the two girls gossiping about their clients behind the font desk; I have no problem with chatting in the work place but have some discretion. The second item, is that for a business that is «all about waxing» they only have the one type of wax. The harsh wax that they are using caused me to breakout and burned my skin in a few places.
To top it all off when I got home I realized I was charged full price and they did not take off the 25%. I will not be returning.

Came to Fuzz for a Brazilian. I would usually go to Ten Spot, but Fuzz is cheaper to start, and they were having a 15% off all waxing services special, so the price was right. Due to the sensitive nature of this service, I’m going to try to keep things a little more general than my usual reviews. :)
Tasha was my waxer, and she was great — super nice and a great conversationalist! It was easy to chat with her. The hard wax they use was fine on the skin, and I felt the service was less painful than at Ten Spot. Tasha got down to business, and it was over quickly. I like that. But she didn’t ask me to inspect her work when she was done, just said done, here’s after wax lotion, meet me out front. I felt a little hurried to move along, and didn’t really take a close look at my goods before I left.
When I got home and took a look, I wasn’t all that pleased. The attention to detail just wasn’t there. There were more than a few strays, had to break out the tweezers. I do ask to leave a little, and it was a bit askew. Uh, a little off to one side? Grrr. More plucking. When I’m paying for this kinda thing, I just want it done and done right. This is a job that requires thoroughness, if I’m going through the pain, I do expect perfection. That’s the whole point, get it done well so I can spend time on other things!
I might go back to Fuzz, given the price, but I’d definitely check everything out before leaving next time. At Ten Spot, they give me a mirror for a thorough inspection, I think that that is helpful. Both Fuzz and Ten Spot offer online appt booking, so it’s easy to compare potential appt times. Check um both out and see what you like. :)
