Helpling

I would like to add that it is up to the customer to accept of decline the service of a cleaning partner I was not satisfied with, especially after my experience. It is true that the company called me to coordinate another appointment and the only time available was a time I was not at home and hence, it cannot be said I was not fair since I cannot be expected to cancel my appointments to accommodate your mistake. I was then told that it would be a few days before someone could be sent over to clean the place. I never appointed an exact time for cleaning the second time around, that is incorrect, I merely stated that I prefer to have it done between Monday and Tuesday.
Also, none of your customer service people have the authority to make decisions on the spot and this led to a lot of back and forth since they needed to check with the manager for most of my questions.

I got my condo cleaned today by Helping and was not impressed at all!
My house was supposed to be cleaned from 10am to 1pm. The lady arrived at 9.30 (It was ok because I had nowhere to go) and left at 1.10pm! When it was nearing the 2.5hour mark I asked her when she was going to vacuum (as she had not done it yet) and she said not to worry because she wasn’t in a rush and that she would do it all (That’s not the point, just because she has time doesn’t mean I should let her stay on for hours). I twice made her vacuum after pointing out areas she had missed and felt very uncomfortable to keep doing it. The mop used by her was very old and it smelt horrible. Instead of having a clean and fresh feeling after the house being cleaned, I noticed it smelt weird and hair from the bathroom was all over my living room (seemed like she didn’t change or clean the mop after). My kitchen sink was not cleaned either. She told me to book for 3 hours next time (I don’t see why since she didn’t do a good job in that time anyway) Also there was a section of the house I did not want touched but she cleaned it anyway. I paid for half hour extra since I wanted the cleaner to bring their own supplies which I assumed would ensure good cleaning (since I did not have all the required items on the list).
To top it all, when I called their office to provide this feedback I was told that they would send the same person back to clean. Why would you do that? Especially after I have complained about this person, it would make things so awkward for the customer. When asked if they could send someone else, I was told that might not happen today. So now I have to wait for another appointment. I would rather get a refund than go through this process again, especially since my previous booking was changed twice!

I am happy with the Helpling Service. Firstly, booking is simple and feels very transparent. I booked online, used my credit card and had an appointment confirmed within 24 hours. Easy!
As for the cleaning service — I say it was OK. Yes, my house was clean after. Was it cleaner or better detailed than I could have done myself? No. Was it a relief to get some help in when I am exhausted with the baby? Definitely yes.
Things I loved: The cleaner was on time, great about asking what my priorities were, and offered some suggestions for natural cleaning approaches. My entire house got a good clean-​up in the 3 hour time slot I booked. So simple to book — I love that I don’t have to think too much about arranging interviews, dealing with booking agents etc. Just click — and bam! Appointment. ²⁴⁄₇ online bookings is helpful too. I appreciate that Helpling has partnered with talented cleaners who are friendly and welcoming (important when coming into your home). Also, the price can’t be beat.
Things I didn’t love as much: I wish the cleaning partner brought some of her own equipment, as I feel like too much time was spent asking me where everything was or if I had alternative supply options. I felt like some of the more detailed cleaning was missed, such as the baseboards, some items under furniture, and that extra-​special touch. I also don’t love that I didn’t know who was coming to my door until I saw her. I would have preferred to see a photo/​profile description and public reviews prior to opening the door.
I’d definitely use Helpling again, especially when I could use someone to give me a hand with the every-​day house tasks I can’t get to because of… life with baby!

We loved the interface, the system was very easy to use, and very flexible with our schedule, the cleaning service was great.

We’ve used Helpling once and we will definitely use it again. The website was super intuitive to use. We had to make a change to our original time & date and even that was easy to do.
The cleaner, Jeanette, was great. She arrived promptly, was very friendly and professional, and did a great job cleaning up.
Payment happened automatically via credit card once the job was completed. Again, all very smoothly and effortlessly.

I used Helpling for a one off cleaning service and paid for 3 hours based on the time their calculator showed as being enough for my 2 bedroom condo. The quality of work ‘done’ wasn’t satisfactory. Basic tasks like vacuuming the carpet, floor of washroom weren’t done and some of the dust etc was left as it was prior to cleaning. When I called to complain, I was told that the cleaning person didn’t have ‘enough time’. I have used other cleaning services before for the same amount of time and they did a great job. I wouldn’t recommend this service…
