Located steps from the Finch Subway station and surrounding office towers, this park is truly a hidden gem in the Yonge and Finch area; providing the perfect ‘escape’ to laze under a tree during your lunch hour. Our company picnic was held at this park last week and it was the perfect spot! Of course, there was no ‘lazing’ under any trees for us as we played various games and ran around like idiots for a few hours! There are plenty of open, flat areas near the baseball diamonds for relay races, egg tosses and the like. Although there are plenty of benches situated along the paths, there doesn’t seem to be any picnic tables in the ‘grassy’ areas around the park or under trees making it somewhat awkward during the BBQ. As with all parks in Toronto, a permit is required when holding an event or gathering of 25 people or more but they are relatively quick and easy to obtain.

Woot Woot! Get out your summer shorts, because summer is back in Toronto! One of my all time favourite parks in the city has to be Hendon Park, right off of Yonge and Finch Subway Station, behind the parking lot on Hendon. Just 5 min walk from the ever busy Yonge St. this little piece of heaven boasts 2 full sized baseball diamonds, multiple tennis courts and that’s not all folks! ah ha! For the kids, playground + splash water park is also fully operational during the summer! There is a super nice walk path installed through out the park so you can go on a nice romantic walk after you’ve stuffed your face with delicious foods that are scattered around the area: D Best to walk to the park if you live near by or strolling through. During the summer, softball season is under way so the parking lot gets congested during the evening hours. It’s very quite here and many benches through out the park for you to rest in joyful bliss~~~ Enjoy the summer TO, 1luv… Bob out!
