I have belonged to several gyms over the years and I have to say this one is the worst. It is located in the basement of an apartment building. The change room smells really damp and it is pretty expensive — they have a 3 month«special» for 189 plus tax = about $ 67/month. But worst of all is the customer service. Avoid this place!!!

High Park Village Fitness is a gym located in the basement of one of the minto towers just north of High Park. It is downright geriatric. The crowd is mostly elderly and very rarely does anyone use the weight room. It is a good alternative to System Fitness if you’re looking for a small, not-crowded gym with the standard accoutrements.

It’s quite good here, though the fitness room is small and I feel there are not enough machines. However, it’s not crowd here so it’s no problem! The courses are nice and for family and senior. Especially for Aquafit and some courses support 50′. The community is peaceful area.

Pregnant ladies need to float. We need to feel weightless for just one heavenly hour a week. The pool at High Park Village Fitness is rented by Baby & Me Fitness for their weekly«Aqua-bellies» aquafit class. Cutesy names aside, the workout is both relaxing and challenging and the instructors are top-notch. Each class has a discussion period for 30 minutes about various pregnancy topics and is a good way to get to know other pregnant ladies in the neighbourhood. Highly recommended!

Hidden in a basement, you don’t expect them to be the size they are. For a neighbourhood gym, you’ll be offered a nice assortment of classes, equipment, and even a saltwater pool and saunas in both changing rooms. Prices are reasonable, and I only think they should care more about the treadmills and ellipticals. Yesterday I could count three out of order, and for a small gym that’s a lot. Hello maintenance team, where are you? The people who work there are great and really care about the customers, will remember your name even if you spend the summer months away from the gym and will do their best to make you feel at home. The only thing I’d change is the maintenance. They can do better.
