Historique

Fondé en 1987.

Islington Village Automotive started as Egner Enterprises in 1987. Current owner Dave Gopie took over from founder John Egner in 2013.

Dave Gopie is licensed automotive technician and factory-​trained Volvo mechanic with a passion for cars and service. Dave started working at Egner Enterprises in 2010, purchasing the business from founder John Egner in 2013. In 2015 with the retirement of John Egner, the business name was changed to Islington Village Automotive.

The ONLY place I will take my vehicle. My family has been going to Dave (the owner of Islington Village Auto) for generations. When I moved away for school I took my Jetta to a closer mechanic, because it was convenient, and I’ve never regretted anything more. The other place charged me $ 900 dollars, replaced multiple parts, and the problems continued. I finally made the drive to see Dave; he lifted the hood, found a hole in one of the engine tubes, and patched it up for FREE. After that my car ran perfectly. There isn’t a mechanic in all of the GTA that would do that. Everyone at the shop is friendly, knowledgable, flexible and just straight up honest. Even though Volkswagons are notoriously complicated, the staff at Islington Auto always figure out the problem and provide the most cost effective (and long term) solution. I guarantee that if you take your vehicle here once, you’ll be a customer for life.
