There are places that do a better job for cheaper and have a nicer, cleaner atmosphere. Had to wait half an hour into my appointment for her to start my nails.

My friend has gone here for years for mani/pedi’s and my sister has come here for a while for the waxing and I can see why. Its not the fanciest of places but the prices reflect that. I believe its mostly run by this older lady and her daughter, so it was a very personable experience.
The mani/pedi I got was $ 35, location was great, colour selection was great. One of my nails did chip within a few days, but I just dropped back in and she fixed it without questioning it.
Definitely would return and recommend.

My manicurist Nisha moved to Calgary, so I started looking for a new one and went to Jessi Nails yesterday. The place is small and crowded but clean inside. Had my nails done and it took almost twice as much time as with Nisha. I hoped they did a good job… but this morning the shellac from my thumb went off while I was washing dishes :-(

This place is located on the second floor. At first it looks quite dingy from the staircase leading up to it, but it’s relatively well kept and clean inside. I just had a brazilian wax there, and I must say that I’ve had much better wax jobs. Then again, you get what you pay for.
I was led into a tiny room where another customer was getting eyelash extensions put in. A screen was rolled down to separate me from the other customer. I felt slightly awkward trying to manœuvre around the tiny area, but I managed.
They use the same muslin strip over and over again to remove the hair, and globs of wax were stuck on me afterwards. I also had bad bruising on one part, which I’ve only experienced at one other place (and am no longer patronising it). It was quick, however, so two stars for that.

Decided to try out a new nail salon when my friend was in town and what a bust! I had a shellac manicure done and my friend had a pedicure. My shellac manicure chipped within 2 days and had bits of fluff from the cotton ball in the actual shellac gel. My friend was left with her feet stuck in the water for an hour (they failed to mention their was only one person working and still took two clients for the same time services) and then the woman used a razor on her feet taking off too much skin since it had been soaking so long, making it sore for my friend to walk all day. I would not recommend this place at all. This was by far my worst nail experience in Toronto.
