Eyebrow, upper lip, chin, neck, forehead and full face.

Waxing includes the following:

Arms, legs, bikini line, Brazilian, stomach, back and full body.

At the moment we do not do Brazilian for men.

Historique

Fondé en 2013.

LOOKS started in the current location at the corner of Bay St. and St. Joseph on 3^rd. October 2013.

When choosing a threader you need to feel confident that they will do their best for your face. You need to find someone who is passionate about threading and experienced in both the culture and technique of this type of hair removal. It is not just a job! Don’t be frightened to ask questions, a good threader will take time to talk you through the technique, what’s involved and aftercare tips.

I never rush and always take as much time as I need to give to each of my client a unique eyebrow shape based on their face. It is my passion to offer an exceptional experience to all my clients. This place is quite alright for their waxing services.
A brazilian for $ 25, and if you can plan out your schedule for their Monday discount, it’s a steal!
The room is small, Dolly is nice, the waxing process doesn’t take too long at all.
The result: Hair is removed, maybe a few missed ones here or there, but for $ 25, the quality-for-value seems quite aligned. I found this process to be on the more painful side of brazilians, but I survived, and so did my savings.
It wouldn’t be my first choice, but I’d go back.

I cannot stop raving about Dolly. A wonderfully warm, loving woman, she works hard! She’s always quite busy, so I recommend that you make an appointment if you’re coming in for a body wax. She’ll take walk-ins for threading/waxing on the face, but you may have to wait a bit if it’s busy.
She’s not abrasive at all – she is straight to the point and I like that about her. She’s always been really kind and friendly with me. A bit curt on the phone, but seriously, she’s usually busy in the middle of a wax job. Can you blame her? I’d be stressed if I was responsible for everything as well! Her husband is often around at the front counter, and he’s a wonderful person as well. Love them both!
She always does an amazing job for my Brazilians and for my eyebrow/upper lip/face threading. She’s definitely worth every penny!

I was very disappointed as I came out with thinner and shorter brows. On top of that, my right brow was much more thinner than the left one. I had to use makeup to try and even out both brows. I let it grow back for 2 months and went back to my usual expensive threading place in Yorkville. You get what you pay for! I am giving this a 3 as I had my upper lip done and there was no problem.

Seriously amazing. I’ve been going to Dolly for a while now for waxing. There’s always a $ 10 eyebrow and upper lip combo which is fantastic. I’ve tried every spot in Toronto and this is the best place by far. I get random compliments on my eyebrows all the time. Also good for a brazillian its $ 25 AND there’s a 20% discount on mondays and tuesdays. You can also count on not waiting long and having a fast appointment which is great for coming during lunch breaks, and she also does walk ins. Definitely would recommend it.

The woman who works here is SO RUDE to me every time I walk in, as if I’m wasting her time. I don’t understand why she seems to hate me so much since all the other reviews here gush about how nice she is. Are we even talking about the same person?
Obviously the price is great and the reason why I kept coming back was because she usually does a good job with threading my eyebrows, but this time she barely did anything to them. It looks like she didn’t even trim them — you can’t even tell I got my eyebrows done, and on top of that they’re uneven. I felt like she was just trying to rush me out so she could talk to her next clients, who she was actually being friendly towards.
Unless you’re BFFs with her or don’t mind dealing with a very surly lady, go elsewhere. I won’t be returning.

I specifically asked her to keep my eyebrows thicker and I walked out with two skinny worms. The lady working there was not friendly at all and I felt very uncomfortable. There’s also no longer free upper lip waxing nor the 20% discounts I’ve heard of from Monday-Thursday.
I’m only giving it 2 stars because 7 $ is cheap for threading, but I’d never come here again.

Dolly is AMAZING! There is nobody else I trust for my waxing — and I’ve been to quite a few places. Her prices can’t be beat — super cheap — and the service is just as good as an upscale spa where you’d easily pay 2−3x more. Dolly is super sweet as well and will try her best to fit you in when possible. Brazilians take about 10 mins or less, and although it’s impossible to be painless, it’s the least painful I’ve ever had. I recommend this place to all of my friends. Try it out!

No muss no fuss, great service! Prices are cheaper on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday — not that you really need the discount, given the prices are already unbeatable!!!
Dolly is very sweet and she’ll always try to squeeze you in if she can — but I would say make an appointment if you’re trying to get in after work because it can get busy from 5 – 7.
Great place to go if you’re looking for an inexpensive and quick wax!

A great couple who truly cares about their business. I gave them a bad review before because of miscommunication. Also, I was wrong about the person at the front desk, he wasn’t the owner and he was actually a nice guy who tries to help Dolly’s customers.
Love Dolly’s work as always!!! Bar none the best eye brow work in town.
Eye brows are walk in only and you might have to wait at times, just be ready.

Dolly is experienced, welcoming and has a warm demeanor. I have tried other waxing places however with her expertise, she makes the process as pain free as possible as she is quick and thorough. The services are reasonably priced and the décor is simple. The room that I was brought into was clean. The discount from Monday to Wednesday is also a bonus. I would recommend making an appointment but if you are in the area, check this place out for your waxing needs.

The second time I got my eyebrows threaded here, it was really rushed and I hated them. There were about 6 of us waiting to have eyebrows threaded, but it is quick to begin with, and I definitely feel that the rushing hindered service. My eyebrows were SO thin and short afterward– 4 months later, I am still waiting for sections of them to grow back in. Maybe I wasn’t clear enough on keeping them natural looking, but I would say that this place is more of a one-eyebrow-suits-all. Perhaps other services here, not on your face, are better.

The only star here is for the price.
I have been to this place for around five times, and I finally give up on it for my brows now. I was asking for a full, natural brow, with unnecessary hair removed. She ripped almost ¹⁄₃ of my brow hair and left me with skinny, awkward, and uneven brows. This is not the first time it happens to me at this place. On the first two times I thought I was unclear. But this time I made myself very clear before everything starts. Now I have to spend a month to grow my brows back, again.
I was also getting my entire face waxed. Ironically, she left fair amount of hair remained on my face untouched. I would rather pay more to places where decent jobs could be done.

I love Dolly’s work. I think that she is amazing at what she does, however, this review is dragged down by the fact that an incredibly rude male staff (I am not sure whether he is the manager/owner because he has only recently started).
I’ve been there twice where the first time, I was told it was my turn to undergo threading via a glare and an «Hello?! It’s YOUR turn!», as if somehow by relaxing via a bit of magazine reading, I had somehow become an animal not worthy of basic curtesy.
Second time I encountered this man, I walk in literally right behind another couple at 5:48pm (I had thought they closed at 7pm every day) when he basically told me to leave the salon as they already had enough quota to carry them until 6pm. «Uh, you might wanna– *hands pointedly sweeping out the door + head and eyes jerking in direction of door*» It was done in a very unprofessional and insulting manner and the other clients were staring also. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I have never felt more insulted in my life before for making a trek across town for an eyebrow treatment.
Because of these incidences and this incredibly rude man, I have stopped supporting this salon and will be going to other competitors nearby who charge more but give much better customer service.

Lovely lovely place. Went in for my first Brazilian today and I have to say Dolly is quite amazing. She was very detailed and very thorough. She made me feel so comfortable even though the positions were embarrassing :$ she talked me through it and made sure to ask if I needed breaks.

Thanks to Unilocal I decided to try out this place for a Brazilian wax.
My wax only took 10 mins and Dolly moves fast. Yeah it hurt, but beauty is pain and it only lasted for a short amount of time.
If you come in Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, all waxing services are 20% off so I paid only $ 20 for a decent wax. Not bad! This is definitely going to be my go to spot.

Just moved into the core. I am used to very good quality waxing/threading at ethnic enclave in suburbia prices. Found this spot after much research.
dolly is amazing. Extremely clean. Very friendly. Outrageously cost effective. Exceptionally professional.
Attended with her after wrk on Friday for waxing. Brazilian done in 10 minutes.
Now I have to see if she is consistent.

I first met Dolly at Perfect Threading where she previously worked when I first moved to Toronto years back. She has always been professional and great at her job. This was my first ever Brazilian wax. It was a Monday so there was a 20% off all waxing (every Monday to Wednesday). I got there and Dolly greeted me kindly and we got right down to business. I was kinda nervous but Dolly chatted with me so I was feeling better.
The wax was hot but just good enough that was comfortable but oh god did it hurt! But I probably had roots since I never waxed there before. She told me the second time will be a breeze cuz roots don’t grow back as deep.
Dolly told me she’s been doing this for 33 years and definitely you can tell. The session was quick and very professional. Not awkward at all. In total it was $ 20 which was a steal! Such great service at this price is unreal. Will come back for sure!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents since my search for a great and affordable wax and threading spot downtown is over! I called Looks Eyebrow Threading & Waxing to make an appointment on a Saturday for a full body wax and full face threading and Dolly was able to pencil me in right away. I’m a no frills kinda girl and Looks is a no frills kinda place… but it is clean and service is detailed and quick.
Looks is a one woman operation so Dolly has her hand on everything that goes on. She will take good care of any hair removal needs and you’ll feel comfortable right off the bat. Never have I been a repeat customer at any salon and now that I’ve been to Looks, I will be coming back again and again for my personal maintenance.
The prices are pretty freakin amazing for a downtown location. Dolly knows that we ladies (and gents) work hard and that there are lots of students in the area, she keeps her prices low so do we don’t neglect our beauty needs. Add to that a 20% discount for services done on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays!
The salon is tucked away on St. Joseph street closer to Bay and you can easily get there from Wellesley station. Check out Looks if you’re in the area during your lunch hour, after work… Heck, go out of your way to get great waxing and threading services!
