First time my biogels were amazing! Lasted for 3 weeks! Second and third time we’re done by a male and were peeling back by the next morning right on way to vacation. Not happy, has lost my business for good.

The manicure and pedicure lasted longer than any other I’ve gotten. The place is a little grubby but it was basically clean. The hotel we were staying at recommended Lucky Nails. They were in a hurry to get us out and my cousin was feeling rushed. The one annoying thing was the manager gave us the same price in American dollars for cash or for Canadian dollars for a credit card and that is a big price difference. I felt like they tried to take advantage of tourists.

Kind of inconsistent service. Usually it’s great, but the last time I went the technician seemed more interested in getting me out as quickly as possible, even painting the skin around my nails with the shellac and seeming annoyed when I pointed it out. That particular day they were taking cash only which I wasn’t informed of and the nearest ATM was closed so I had to walk for longer than it took to get my shellac manicure to find an ATM so I could pay for the shoddy service I received. I know, first world problems, right?

I have been coming here for years ! The ladies and gentleman here are so amazing and well trained. I get my eyebrows waxed with complimentary temple massage, biogel for my nails, which they always take extreme care and caution of, and a pedicure, where they take their time and give the best massages ever ! On the average + price point. But it’s worth it.

I have tried a few spots over the years and always look forward to going back to Lucky Nails. I’m not a bio-gel or artificial nail person so I can’t comment. I am particular about my nails from the color to the style and particular about the service. Last week I was in the neighborhood and popped in the nail salon at Spadina and Queen for a polish change. The service lacked relative to Lucky Nails. I didn’t realized how good I had it. I was very disappointed with the bubbles in the polish on my nails and the fact that they didn’t buff or give them a quick file. When I asked if it could be done she said no. Lot’s of good places to try but if you need a reliable good quality mani pedi Lucky Nails is your place.

Terrible. I went in to get a manicure, to unwind after a stressful day, and all this place did was add to my stress. I went in on a monday, as my usual place Lux Nails(one street over) was closed. I went in on the recommendation of a friend, so I expected much better than what I got. Now, dont get me wrong. I’ve been to cheap places, and while those places were cheap, they were NOT dirty. This place was filthy. As soon as I walked in I regretted it and considered walking out. But this place was recommended to me, and based on the reviews here, I thought«dont be a snob. Give it a chance.» I asked for a simple manicure and a paraphine treatment. (1) The Manicure: The manicure is satisfactory at best. she did a good job of shaping my nails, and getting the length right. however, her job wasnt so hard, since I’d just gotten a mani at Lux last week. (2) The paraphine treatment: DISGUSTING. I’m not saying this lightly either. usually, for paraphine treatments,(at my usual cheap place $ 5.00/pop) I get gloves with the paraphine that I dipp my hands in to. these people brought out some sort of paraphine tank, that was dirty, had HAIR in it, and had some sort of dirt at the bottom. They then proceeded to tell me to DIP my hands in the dirty, hairy, tank. NO. I refused. SODISGUSTING and NASTY. This is a nail place, its unsanitary and I’m fairly sure they must be violating some sort of law/regulation. by the way, the treatment was $ 15.00… (3) Atmosphere: well I’ve already said how disgusting the tank was. on top of that the place reeked of fried food, and the attendants or «esthetitcians» walked around the entire time, having some sort of convo in their own language, while screaming at the top of their lungs. The place was dirty as well. There were loose towels and materials scattered all over the place, and I didnt see my attendant clean her tools after she was done with me. Overall a HORRIBLE experience. This place is disgusting, and truly undeserving of being in a place like Yorkville. If you want a cheap mani in the same neighborhood, head to K Nails. They offer better prices, better service and are MUCHCLEANER. Mani was $ 25.00 They were nice enough to refund me the $ 15.00 for the paraphin after I refused to take a dip in the dirt pool.

Pros: I got UV gel nails done here a couple of weeks ago and they looked great. I just had a clear coat, no colour and they looked and felt totally natural. Although they are trying to get as many people in as possible, the staff is very attentive once you are in their chair. Cons: My only complaint was that I asked for UV gel nails which were listed at $ 45, and when I got to the cash register I was charged $ 60. Originally, I thought I was overcharged, but after going to another nail salon and getting bio-gel nails(done poorly), I realized I likely got bio-gels by accident. Regardless, they looked great and I won’t be going back to that«other salon» over Lucky Nails. I wish I had never strayed from here!

This place is not fancy – it’s good service and quality work. I know that my nails are going to look great everytime I come out of here. I have recently discovered french shellac and it actually lasts for two weeks or longer – highly recommend! They take walk-ins which is great. The staff is super friendly and they clearly deal very well with people’s «diva attitudes». :)

Lucky Nails has been around for awhile and the odd celeb have gone in there with their great Yorkville location. There is nothing fancy about this place, no lounges or anything of the sort. I’ve been here twice to get my nails done. Lucky Nails offers bio-gel nails which contain no chemicals, but is pricier than the regular stuff. I think for a new set is $ 60. The first time, my nails lasted a week before they started chipping and cracking. Full disclosure: My nails grow wickedly fast and I’m hard on my hands. I am lucky if a regular manicure doesn’t chip in a day. This time my nails have lasted almost 2 weeks without any chipping. I’m conflicted on whether or not to go back there again. On one hand, they’ve always shaped my nails quite nicely, on the other hand sometimes their professionalism is questionable. Like when I complained about the look of one of my tips(there was a pin hole that the airbrush missed) he didn’t fix it and said not to worry about it. Or as I was waiting for my nails to dry, he decided to clip his nails right in front of me — ew! Note: This salon no longer accepts credit cards so be prepared to use Interac or cash.
