The touchscreen on my laptop was damaged. I took it to two other places that said I would have to replace the whole screen (very expensive). Modcom was able to repair it in one day at a fair price.

I had a similar problem. My laptop power adaptor was not working, I went in with the laptop, and they sold me one that was not quite a good fit (too much play). They ended up selling me a universal adaptor (generic brand) which is not the right size for my laptop, then tried to tell me I would need to change the jack (for an additional $ 90). I am not going back. I wish they were honest and simply admitted they did not have the right size.
p. s. I found a brand name adaptor (the right one) at Tech Direct on Kennedy.

I recently purchased a laptop power adapter from Modcom Computers. The adapter does not work and they will not provide a refund. I took my laptop to the store to make sure that the adapter would work. The laptop did power up, but only in the store. The light on the laptop where the adapter plugs in lit up. But when I got home, the laptop would not turn on, with the battery in or out. I believe that the adapter I purchased does not provide a steady, reliable supply of power to the laptop. I suppose I could have waited for the laptop to power up and made sure the «charging» indication was on. When I returned a week later, the salesmen there were adamant that I would not receive a refund for the defective adapter.
I caution anyone to steer clear of this store. If you are desparate and it’s the only option, be wary that what you’re buying works as expected. Sounds simple, but so does refunding defective goods (to me!).
