Awful awful awful service. The worst I could imagine.
I walked in on a Thursday night after work hoping to get some MTM shirts but got totally disappointed. The girl who helped me has no understanding of dress shirts. She just constantly told me how good I look but in fact any shirt I tried on did not fit at all. I asked for a measurement, she just called upon one of an old guy.
Now, here is the big part:
This old made me really angry. He did not seem to have patience to measure me. He checked my neck and gave me a size and a shirt that did not fit again. I told me the sleeve was too large and he just sneered and said «we can adjust that but you have to pay». «How much?» I replied. He just answered in contempt: «$ 18».
I do not understand what gave him the attitude. Was it because I did not dress well? No! I work as a financial analyst at one of the most well known organization in the world. I have to dress suits everyday for work. I do not own any suits from the Saville Row but I certainly did not dress like a hobo when waking into their store. So I have no idea why that mean old guy $ 18 would be an issue for me, or for anyone –_​_​–
Anyways, I walked out without buying anything and end up in another store who made me gladly pay for $ 1000 for 3 MTM dress shirts. It was pricey and I probably wouldn’t consider getting them if I was not pissed off by that old guy.

Maybe it was just the luck of the draw, but I had an excellent experience at the Yonge St. location on Monday morning last. I picked Moore’s because it was only a few block from the hotel, and I’d seen their ads on TV. Almost immediately, a nice young man (unfortunately, I can’t remember his name) asked if he could help me, and he did. He showed me a good selection of the type of jackets I was after. Measured me to be sure I had my size right (I didn’t). Picked out 3 or 4 possibles, accurately, based on my vague description.
He was totally engaged and seemed genuinely interested in me not just as a customer but as a person. We schmoozed some, and I bought a jacket, which my wife was totally pleased with.
I’m sorry the reviews are so mixed, but I’d recommend that you give them at least one chance. You may get the same guy I did.

Brutal… never mind the quality of their products. You can get better for the price. What truly sucks is the service at this location.
Fire the managers! Picture this. It’s 5pm on a weekday, downtown in Canada’s biggest city — optimal time for some after work shopping. You walk in and nobody greets you or even sees you. They’re all just doing their own thing. You go to the cashier area because certainly there must be someone there. But, no. It’s barren. Nobody acknowledges your existence. That’s what happened to me. I simply walked out of there and am not going back.

Except Michel, all of the staff is really really bad. If you go there and can’t find Michel, I recommend you come back another day.
The ladies and the other other two male staff members are extremely unfriendly.
They have good suits and good marketing team but the staff there is so bad I wanted to punch them in their faces especially one of the girls there.
And, on top of it, they do not even have the courtesy of giving you your suit in a suit bag. They just put it in some cheap shopping bag. I even offered to buy one but the staff just doesn’t care and has no respect for the customer. I almost felt that the girl there was being racist.
Avoid everyone else except Michel.

What an odd experience. I visited this Moore’s location and found the staff member that was helping me to be disinterested, dismissive and only moderately knowledgeable. When I asked her if they had something in stock, her answer was «I don’t know» repeatedly. She measured me hastily and without any precision or care – measurements that I later verified were inaccurate.
When I asked another staff member to help, she said that that isn’t necessary. Based on my experience, Moore’s has a great ad agency handling its marketing, but the experience in the stores themselves is far below par and extremely disappointing. My advice to anyone considering this location: go somewhere else.

Great service — great selection. Did not know they have that much better goods.
I highly recommend. Tailoring was bang on. The service was the most professional I received for a long time.

HELP! I need somebody, help! I’ll take any body, can’t you please, please help me?
This store is in an ideal location, considering the competition in the area. However… No salesperson approached me. I had to go begging, all the while wearing ill-​fitting clothing that wasn’t my norm. I needed someone to give me confidence that this shift in appearance wasn’t as bad as it felt.
Once I did get someone, the woman was more or less as bit**y as one could imagine.
I needed to try dress shoes with the pants I was having tailored, and asked if I might try on a particular pair for that reason. She responded with «Most people bring the right shoes.» I responded saying «I need to buy shoes to go with these new suits.»
She explains that I can try on the shoes, but she doesn’t know if I’ll like the shoes they have for «testing.» WTF? I can walk into a Payless and walk around in their store, but in Moore’s, I have to wear «testing shoes?»
I tried to make a joke about it; the look she returned suggested I’d passed offensive odors to her olfactories.
I asked how long it would take to have the pairs of pants properly hemmed. She didn’t know. She went and got one of the «actual sales people, as she’s just a helper.»
OK, same question for the salesman. He tells me 2, maybe 3 days.
«Could you please call me when they’re ready so that I don’t come in expecting them to be ready and they’re not?» He tells me he certainly will do so, writes down my phone number on a ticket.
That was nearly 3 weeks ago. I’ve called and left messages for my salesman; he’s not responded. I’m sure the pants are done, but just out of spite, i’m waiting to see how long it takes til someone calls me.
The owner of this store should be embarrassed by the many negative reviews here on Unilocal.they’re well-​deserved. I hope it pushes them into upping their game.
Then again, the place is just arrogant enough to think that Unilocal is just a place for whiners…

Don’t expect friendly service… check that… don’t expect any service from the people who work at Moores. I walked in looking for a suit to buy, but no hello. We looked around, and still no staff member came to ask us what we were looking for. I actually went looking for someone to help us, but he actually walked away from me pretending to be busy. After about 25 minutes, we just left. I guess the store is doing so well that they don’t need any sales.

Got what I needed but the service was horrendous. With the amount of competition in the area you would think they would bring their ‘A’ game; this couldn’t have been any further from what happened.
They were abrupt, rude, and not very helpful.

Came in to book for a wedding party, but they were too busy to take our order or talk about it. No catalog or any price information is available. Their website does not mention you need an appointment, and other tux rental places do not require an appointment. Wanted to at least get measurements done since we came all that way but they were too busy for us to do that. We rented our wedding party elsewhere, if we had at least been able to get the measurements done there we probably would have taken our rentals there too.
They were also too busy to take our tailoring order, and had to go elsewhere for tailoring. (separate person, who was also too busy)
I accept that it can be busy but they should have the staff they need. They also could have said we are busy but we can give you some information. I thought this would have been a straightforward easy process to rent from Moore’s, but obviously if we couldn’t even get any service there was no point in going here at all, it was a total waste of time, so I’m unable to recommend it to others. I walked in to look at suits and was pressured Into buying two brand name suits that were the most ill fitting suits I’ve ever tried on. I’m a 32 waist and was sent away in size 38 pants, and a jackets so big, you could fit two of me in em! I was repeatedly assured that they can be altered to fit, but not that drastic of a difference.

It’s ok… sometimes you get good staff… sometimes you get bad ones… sometimes you get a staff on their good day… sometimes you get the same staff on a bad day…
My rating for this place… indifferent… if the client experience was more positive and the staff showed a consistantly positive, helpful attitude, I’d increase the rating.
They are helpful and accomodating. Which is why i didn’t give them a bad rating.

Avoid the popular menswear shops in nearby Eaton Center you won’t get half the honesty, sincerity or prices as that of Moores.
Michael and his staff are so knowledgeable and effortless in this role that we will def return. Great staff, prices and environment.

My experience contrasts sharply with the previous reviewer’s, which goes to show how subjective this stuff is, I guess. I went in for their recent 2-​for-​1 sale and was actually quite pleased with the service and selection, as well as with the quality of their products.
Let me begin by saying that I am very slight of frame. Holt, Harry Rosen, and other upscale clothiers never stock my size and usually tell me that there is nothing they can do for me, short of recommending I go bespoke (which I can’t afford). Moore’s had a range of garments (suits and sport coats — though few pants) in my size and while some were of higher quality than others, the cut, fit, and fabric of the items at the higher end ($ 600 /​suit, $ 300 /​sport coat) were good — not on par with suits I’ve had custom made, but not a dramatic step down either.
While I’m not a first-​degree sartorialist, I dress well, have worked in a demanding professional setting for a number of years, and I’ve been wearing suits for a long, long time. Such being the case, I have developed a pretty good eye for what looks good on me and thus didn’t rely too heavily on the sales guy’s opinion, but he was quick to locate options, seemed to have a pretty good understanding of what I was looking for, was friendly and articulate. His observations and suggestions about fit were pretty helpful, and (apart from trying to get me to pay extra for the «supercreased» pants) didn’t try to upsell me, which was better service than I’d expected.
I bought a basic dark grey suit (for funerals, etc.), a fun fitted light grey suit for summer weddings and casual events, and lots of shirts (which worked out to $ 30.00 apiece including tax — impossible to beat) and dress pants, as well as a couple of nice sport coats for which I’ve already received a number of compliments. In my opinion, every professional male should own at least two nicely tailored suits in the $ 600-​$ 1000 range (I’ve had mine for 10 years now and they still look very sharp) but I found lots of good-​looking things to augment my day-​to-​day business casual wardrobe.
My only complaint is with their baffling selection of ties, almost all of which have some metallic element and are in weird colours such that, overall, they can only be described as «Night at the Roxbury». I couldn’t find a single one that I’d wear in a professional setting, and given that they stock tweed sport coats and blazers, it’s strange that there wasn’t even one conservative or simple-​pattern matte tie.
Would I buy my suit for a major court appearance or a visit to Buckingham Palace here? Probably not. But for the price, and for almost every other situation that 99% of non-​CEOs are likely to encounter, I think their stuff is right on the mark.
