Description

Spécialités

Old School Muay Thai offers experienced, traditionally-trained Muay Thai instructors, a central location, convenient hours, affordable memberships, fundamental «boot camp» and personal training along with a program where the city’s at-risk youth can benefit from the discipline of Muay Thai training and positive mentorship.

Classes run seven days a week, morning, noon and evening. We guide and support each of our students toward their own individual goal — whether that be personal fitness, weight loss, the Blue Shorts test, and even to compete in the ring.

Historique

Fondé en 2004.

Old School Muay Thai was developed by Kru James Hines, the first student of respected Muay Thai Ajahn (Master) Suchart Yodkereipauprai.

Old School Muay Thai built on its first five years of success by re-establishing as a not-for-profit organization. Through the delivery of high quaiity, traditional Muay Thai training and solid fitness classes to novice students and ring-ready fighters alike, membership fees are gathered to support after-school programming for Toronto’s at-risk youth, thus following in the Thai tradition of giving good back through discipline and hard work.

Kru James has been trained by some of the most established and experienced Muay Thai competitors in the world in Thailand and Canada, and has himself represented Canada in North American and World Amateur competitions in the USA and Thailand.

Gérant de commerce

James — Kru Big Bird — combines over a decade of experience as a personal trainer and respected coach with twenty years of Muay Thai expertise in the tradition followed in the camps of Thailand.

He is the Regional Representative for the Canadian Muay Thai Council for Southern Ontario, a volunteer with the SC Toronto where he coaches local youth in soccer, nutrition, fitness and sportsmanship, and has developed Muay Thai and fitness programs in the greater Toronto area since 1999.

In early 2009, James established Muay Thai Training Centres, Inc, a not-for-profit division of Old School Muay Thai in support of Toronto’s at-risk youth through access to Muay Thai training and is working in collaboration with partners in the community to offer students access to this self-affirming discipline.
