We also have unique handcrafted items designed by adults with special needs.

Historique

Fondé en 2001.

The Pegasus Thrift Store is a social enterprise that offers opportunities to positively effect the lives of people with disabilities and those without. The store exists to fund the work of the Pegasus Community Project.

While working at the Store with a job coach, participants contribute to the success of the business and become involved in an exciting community initiative.

The store developed out of the Great Pegasus Garage Sale that had a 10 year run as a fundraiser for Pegasus Community Project. The first storefront was rented at 970 ½ Kingston Rd. The big beautiful windows were too much of a temptation not to use as advertising space to sell the items created by Pegasus participants in their studio program. Thrift store donations quickly followed and were added to the mix.

Within a few years the store had outgrown that location and the decision was made to move to 931 Kingston Rd. where it now enjoys the use of 2 floors of great selling space and an office on the 2^nd floor.

We are lucky to have Marla, who owned an antique shop in Leslieville, as our store manager. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge about antiques and specialty items.
