Rainhard Brewing

4’5/5 great brewed beer on site and awesome atmosphére. place is definately a hidden gem but good social hang out with friends. my bf is a beernut and enjoys the flight tasting. the sweet backs milkstout is perfect if you need a comforting winter beer.

Love the beer. The tap room setup is open to the brewery for that inclusive feel. If you want to talk beer, ask for Jordan.

I recently made my way to Rainhard for their 1^st Holiday Party at the Brewery. Yes, it may be tricky to find but with a little beforehand help from Google Maps image view and double checking the residential street I was on to make sure I wasn’t west of the street the Brewery is on I was able to find the building they are located in pretty easily. Once inside I was greeted by some pretty friendly people who work there and I soon found myself drinking one and then another great beer. The 1^st beer I had was a one-​off cask of their Black IPA (I think they called it Scrooged in honour of the Season) and the second beer I had was their Kapow which I’d had before. I’d known about the Brewery for awhile so it was great to visit the Brewery and I hope to go to their next Event at the end of Jan. 2016.

Fantastic addition to Toronto’s brewery scene. When I visited, its focus seemed to be more on the hoppy end of things, with Kapow! IPA and a double IPA called Refuge, but it also had some other lighter fare like Armed n Citra (an American Pale Ale). The interior is pretty bare boned, with a tasting bar directly in front and a bottle shop to the side. Farther back is the space where the beer is actually made. Though its beer is delicious, what prevents me from giving it a 5 is its rather out of the way location and the fact that it doesn’t quite reward you enough for the effort you put in getting there. Firstly, it’s quite far away from anything else that could it be linked to (e.g. other restaurants or bars), limiting its appeal as a place just to pop in while doing other things. Secondly, the space isn’t particularly comfortable, and I imagine would be pretty chilly during the winter with its large exposed glass panes and vast industrial space. Further, apart from the beer, I don’t recall there being anything else to consume, which is fine, but combined with its out of way ness, makes it less appealing than I wish it were. All in all, great beers, it’s just a shame we have to go that far away to get it.

A little off the beaten path, but well worth it. The beer is amazing, thoughtfully crafted and the world needs to hear about it. Like most breweries, you can pick up some beer to go or set up shop at the bar and have a few pints. I’ve considered setting up a tent in the parking lot so I can be closer to the taps. Whether you live in the area or not, find your way here and get a flight to sample some of your soon to be favourite beers.

Come prepared with a smartphone and the address, as it’s a bit tricky to find. Pay no attention as you pass through a large barrier wall if you’re on a bike or walking. You may worry you’re wandering into one of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novels, but have no fear, good beer is near.
Inside the brewhouse, you’re likely to find Jordan Rainhard, the owner/​brewer manning the bar. It’s a sweet industrial space with a comfy bar. Great for a stop on a bike ride or bike beer crawl.
The beers are solid for a new entrant to the craft brew scene in Toronto. I particularly enjoyed their IPA. Jordan is friendly and ready to tell you anything about the beers you want to know.
Good prices on tasters, drafts, bottles to go, and growler refills.
Definitely a very welcome addition to the Toronto craft beer scene.
