Man this spot is crazy! I came on Friday night trying to watch game 6, although it was already full here and we had to go else where. But after walking through it I was definitely impressed by the set up and, huge TV’s everywhere and had the atmosphere of a true sports bar. I’d pass on the hype and busyness of Real Sports and come here instead. Can’t wait to come back and actually get to sit down.

Really bad service. I did not try any food but just had drinks instead as the kitchen was closed. MY server almost never returned even when our drinks had been empty and a while and the place was not busy. Instead of serving us she was making out with some man at the bar. So professional. Don’t bother.

A good sports bar with good ttc access. Food is ok but typical bar food. This place is good if you want to get together with friends for a ballgame and enjoy a few beers together… I do group bookings here and they have a section at the back for large groups., Good central lication to meet up

We went for the first time to the Sports Centre Café to watch the 2014 Leafs season opener. No bogus $ 10 cover charge that I read about on Unilocal.Good thing as that would have been a non starter. We ordered some potato skins, beef riblets, 3lbs of different flavored wings, and we topped it off with two desserts. The food was decent; that said it was nothing else worth highlighting. I will say the riblets were lousy. Even for an appetizer the portion looked cheap and the presentation was horrible. The atmosphere itself was good. The TV’s are mostly good, but some are too small for the area they service and the projection screens didn’t seem HD to me. Call me crazy but any sports bar not running HDTV’s is not a sports bar. At least not a good one. Sorry, back to the atmosphere. They have a really good setup. Every table has a good view, and you can really get into the game with the other patrons. The server we had was sociable and attentive; he clearly took pride in his job. All in all Sports Centre Café is a worthy choice if you’re in the area, but not necessarily ‘the’ place you just have to be to watch the game.

Great big screen TV… terrible service. Came here and it was not busy! Our waitress worked one table at time… MULTITASK girl! You only have three tables; two tables of 2’s and a table of 3. You go to one table, you should check on the other table that’s right next to each other. Instead you are hanging with the bartender up front trying to be cute. You are cute and you know it, so do your job. I’d rather good service than an attractive server one. I asked what the soup of the day was and she replies oh its garden veggie soup with noodles, but we put it away at 5 so it won’t be good because we have to heat it up. What happen to selling? How about saying«Oh we have a great garden veggie soup fresh made today». She was very nice(aren’t they all?) but not the sharpest tool in the shed… ugh…not even close to it!

This place is very big and the personal tv’s in the booths are a nice touch, but that’s where it ends. Food is average at best and the draft is stale. Service was laughable. Would not return.

I’m conflicted about my rating. I realize this is a sports-themed bar, but I still think it could improve on their beer selection and food quality. If all you’re looking for is a domestic beer and whatever North American sport happen to be playing on tv, this is your spot. Big, dozens of screens, cheap, baseball cap and sweatshirt-wearing crowd. If you’re looking for anything else(craft beers, good food, pleasant people, attentive service, good music) — this ain’t your cuppa tea.

This is the 2nd time in my life that I have felt it necessary to leave no tip. Terrible food and service to match. The ‘burrito’ is drained canned kidney beans and raw vegetables including raw onions and plain white rice. No spices, no sauce and no flavour of any kind and it wasn’t served warm. It was accompanied by a super sad side salad. Our server caught my look of shock when I cut into it and then made it a point to not return to the table and to never check on me or my meal. To finish the night off we had asked for separate bills when ordering and she somehow wasn’t able to accommodate this.

The staff are pleasant and very helpful and the atmosphere is nice. The food is inedible dreck. I love wings and order them often. The wings are SCC are so overcooked they crunch. Do with that information what you will.

I came to watch a UFC event here. I wasn’t charged a cover. After reading other reviews I’m not sure if they missed me, or if they no longer charge one. Anyway, this is the best bar in the area by far. Scallywags is O. k if you like football(soccer) but if not there’s no real reason to go there, and Jester on Yonge is one of the worst bars I’ve ever been to. The bar staff drinks, and will refuse to serve you if you’ve had more then a single drink before hand. The SCC on the other hand has a professional bar staff(they won’t over-serve, but they at least know when its appropriate to cut someone off) the food is excellent. They have lots of booths, and lots of hd tvs so its great for any sporting event. This bar will be my local for as long as I live in the area. It has some of the nicest bar staff of any bar I’ve ever been to. 5 stars.

A coworker hosted a gathering here early on a Friday evening and although I wasn’t quite sure how it would work out, Sports Centre Café accommodated everyone nicely and provided a wonderful buffet for the guests that arrived throughout the evening. The wait staff efficiently moved amongst the crowd, clearing away empty glasses and dishes in a respectful and seamless manner. To be honest(and without getting too personal), I wouldn’t have expected that such an event would have suited being held at a sports bar but the space they provided was perfect and to my surprise… seemed just right.

A fancy take on a sports bar. I dated a guy that used to box, so I would get dragged to watch matches. I guess Sports centre is a place that shows all these pay per view matches. The food was okay, drinks okay. big space. However when it gets crowded it is standing room. and hard to get a seat. They dont do reservations last time I checked, so even tougher. the décor is alright, it is a step above a regular sports bar, the crowd is more tame. The booths are cozy and romanticy. Yes — in a sports bar!

I wish I lived stumbling distance from this bar… But it’s close enough to St. Clair subway station, so that’s good enough for me! We were here on a Saturday night to watch the UFC fight(Jones, w00t w00t). They didn’t charge a cover for this fight — which made my decision of sports bar way easier! We got here around 9:00pm and there were still tables available. By 10:00 this place was rammed! They had reserved tables, but I had called earlier in the week and they said they weren’t taking reservations for fight night. I guess they changed their minds O_o They have a small private party area at the back that’s perfect for having a gathering for someone who likes sports. Also, they have game machines for basketball and boxing, and pool tables for when you are drunk and feeling competitive. We were offered a booth which have their own smaller tv if you don’t want to look at the screens. But we opted for regular table. I can’t watch a fight without beer. I can’t have beer without wings! The wings here are delicious and slightly larger than other places. Deep fried with saucy sauce of chipotle bbq sauciness. They weren’t as good on Saturday as when we went mid-week. Probably due to the volume of patrons but they were still good. I feel like we should have got one of the combo appetizer platters instead of pounds and pounds of wings. Next time! The waitress seemed confused when we asked her about the beers they served. She also forgot to enter our order. Overall, I still really like this place. I’ll be back! =)

I was bored so I went here for karaōke on a Friday night alone. The place was a lot bigger and a lot nicer on the inside than I would have thought. For some reason sports bars are always dumps in my head but this place was cool. Lots of flat screen TVs, nice chairs. The patrons seemed cool, within 10 minutes of being there some guy came up and introduced himself and we had a good conversation about random nonsense. The song selection for karaōke was nice, it was a huge book. If you’re a casual singer you might be a little shy to get up, though, because everyone was really good. Getting to the most important part, the booze, it was like $ 5.25 for a bottle and $ 6.25 for a pint. Not the cheapest, but acceptable pricing based on the neighbourhood. The draft lines didn’t seem dirty as other reviewers have said, at least not the Canadian ones. It was a pleasant experience, I’m pretty sure I’ll go back. Probably take some friends with me next time, though.

Do you like it dry and chewy? Well then this might be the place to you because the wings I had here were that way. I came here on the recommendation of Unilocalers who I will not name who said the wings here were the shizz. Walking in on a Saturday evening, I was surprised that the place was completely empty! There were like five people there total. I sat at the bar and the bartender/waitress was a sweetie. She got me my beer fast and took my order. So far so good. Then I got the wings and poutine… sigh. Maybe I’d built them up in my mind so that there was no way they could possibly live up to my ridiculously high expectations, but they were really just mediocre. Not a lot of sauce, a little chewy rather than tender and the garlic dipping sauce came in a little plastic container rather than a ramekin. The poutine was just okay too… the gravy was almost aggressively bland. Maybe I hit the place on a bad night, but I wasn’t blown away. It was okay but after having the same thing at Real Sports Bar & Grill the day before, I have to give the edge to Real Sports. Sorry SCC! You’re nice and all, but I’m just not that into you.

This place is amazing. Tons of booths and tables, lots of TVs to watch sports, including personal TVs in all the booths and a giant projection screen in the back. The service is really friendly and the place has a really trendy atmosphere. In fact, we didn’t check this place out despite living so close because it seemed too yuppie-like. We were pleasantly surprised to find that everyone was really chilled out and the crowd to be nice people in their early 30s. The prices are also on par with a regular pub. And if you like puns, you’ll LOVE the menu. Everything has a sports pun name, like Coach’s Cornered beef sandwich. I ordered the wings and was BLOWNAWAY. I ordered a pound of suicide wings, and though they weren’t spicy enough to burn my face off, they were the most flavourful wings I’ve ever had. In lieu of a sauce made of Frank’s Red Hot and butter, they had a smoky dry rub that was just a flavour explosion. I’m certain that I was boring the Hubster with my constant exclamations on how great the wings were. I couldn’t help it. I was really impressed. Between the Hubster’s love of sports, my love of wings and our mutual love of delicious drinks(Guinness and Strongbow on tap), I’m certain we’ll be back again and soon.

As a place to have a few beers, watch the game, and not eat — 4 stars. Food — 2 stars. Average — 3 stars. It would not be worth paying a cover here. Read the other reviews if you need more details on this theme.

This place would be the best sports bar I’ve ever been to, save for the fact that they try to do the $ 10 cover bullsh*t. I’m not sure which events specifically have a cover charge, but all the UFC events do. I visited the weekend before last and the bar was absolutely RAMMED for the Mayweather HBO boxing card, but for some reason there was no cover charge for that event. UFC last night cost $ 10, however. I’d go here for every UFC if they scrapped the $ 10 cover, or at least reduced it to $ 5! This place is huge and has very modern renovations. Beautiful for a sports bar. There are plenty of tvs and large screens for watching the events. They also have a lowered private area at the very back, which they allowed us to reserve(for free!!!) for my friend’s birthday party. The area had seating for 30 – 40 people, including some nice leather chairs and couches and a GIANT projector screen(about 10×8 feet or so) The food menu was very extensive but the food that I saw come out looked like fairly standard pub grub(ie frozen shit from a box thrown in a deep fryer) Our waitress was really quick and efficient and managed to keep everyone’s separate bills organized, props to her. Overall, really nice spot to watch sports and have a few pints.

I’ve had a love-hate-like relationship with this place. Back when it first opened we used to come here for many of the major sporting events to have some beer and wings. It’s spacious, but dark as it sits in the lower level of the building. Around 5 or 6 years ago, the service went awry. They started putting a ridiculous cover charge on for all of their events, and the food just plain sucked. We weren’t about to pay $ 10 to watch tv. I had previously hosted superbowl and leaf playoff parties here, and had supplied them with ample clients. I was heartbroken that they jacked up the food prices and still wanted more money from me. Fast forward to this year. I’ve been working nearby for about a year and refused to go in. It was on my blacklist and I refused to budge. However recently during a big rainstorm, it was the closest thing to my office, so I decided for one day only, I’d go back. It was like seeing an ex-wife for the first time many years after your divorce. To my surprise the place was completely renovated, from what I remember. She was still a relatively hot chick. The food during lunch service was actually pretty decent. It brought back lots of memories. The place was completely empty so I got quite a bit of attention from the waitress, and never had to wait. Prices are quite average to the plethora of pubs in the neighbourhood. You can get a full loaded burger for $ 8.99. They have a huge menu consisting of regular pub fare and then some. All in all, I’ve moved them off my banned list, but I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back for sporting events as I hear there is still a cover charge. At best, I can only take her back as maybe a mistress. I’ll see her once in a while, but she can never be my number one again.
