Based on my check-ins and reviews, I’m well versed in the SPoT Coffee world. My goal has been to check out every location, and I finally made it to this one during Toronto’s World Pride(Gay Pride) event. I had thought to myself, «Wasn’t there two SPoT Coffee’s in Toronto?» but I figured I may have had been mistaken. My friend and I walked a couple miles to this location from our hotel, unfortunately during a huge baseball game taking place so there were a lot of people walking around getting to the stadium. I thought this SPoT was quite small compared to other locations, the seating was a little strange, but was in a prime spot of the city. They were very festive with the rainbow gay pride colors which I loved. The staff seamed friendly to every customer… until my friend and I. I don’t know if they could sense we were American or something, but the friendly vibes I originally got with them died instantly. Even tipping them didn’t seem to phase their terrible attitudes towards us. I ordered a sandwich, which came out on a fancy square plate. They do all the cooking behind a small wall out in the open, didn’t look like they had an actual kitchen. Their WiFi I specifically remember being abysmal, but that also seemed to be a general common thing for Canada. The reason I am writing this review right now is because one of the pharmacists I work with gave me a gift card to SPoT Coffee and I noticed on the back that I was indeed right, there USED to be two SPoT Coffee’s in Toronto. It seems they both had similar fates, rent issues, poor management, staff rudeness, seating issues, etc. It’s kind of sad to see that SPoT Coffee has had so much trouble in Toronto, and yet in Buffalo they can’t stop building new ones. It disappoints me to see how much corporate seems to always ruin what used to be great. They know just the right way to rip the heart and soul out of a good business and replace it with standardized rip offs and lame clones.

Yep, this place is closed! Does anyone know why? So disappointed the only coffee place here closed. City place is the WORST place on earth for amenities. Just crappy pubs and banks left now! We need a Sunset Grill to replace this!

I remember back when spot coffee used to be THESPOT for casual hanging out @cityplace. Sure its pricey but hey its cityplace. Theyve always had a ventilation problem me thinks as the kitchen was out in the open and it smelled like a meat/omlette sauna inside every day. I stopped going as much this year as the manager there was a real d**che. I had an incident with him once(and so did friends of mine) and the way he handled it was very poor. Low and behold the place shut down during end of august this year. What goes around comes around pal. Now theres a starbucks across the street from it.

CLOSED down in Sept. 2014, they didn’t make it. Perhaps the new Starbucks on Spadina Ave. was too much competition to handle. Sorry to see them go.

Went to a Jays game and was craving pizza. So we decided to try this place out. Got the Gourmet New Yorker pizza, which comes with pepperoni, mushroom, and Mozerella cheese. I was disappointed, the pizza wasn’t good. If it says gourmet pizza then my expectations are higher. The middle was soggy. Pepperoni wasn’t crispy. What makes you look forward to the cheesy melted goodness, not all the cheese was melted properly. The pizza just didn’t taste good. This didn’t satisfy my pizza. I won’t be back.

I was meeting my cousin for a cup of coffee and stayed longer than expected. I decided to get lunch and the spinach salad with goat cheese onions strawberries and blueberries was fantastic. It filled me up but was light enough to keep me going.

I had a hour to kill near the Rogers Centre so I scouted out a coffee joint. This place was alright. The baked goods looked really enticing and they had a great assortments of unique treats like their Nutella cookie. I tried a café au lait, which was alright. It wasn’t anything impressive and it seemed a tad bit watery — the flavours weren’t all there compared to other coffees. Overall though, it seems like a nice café to hang out in if you are in the area and I would definitely visit again to try their other beverages.

First time and love this place. Me and my sister were waiting for some family friends to show up for the Disney on Ice show so we decided to wait here. I ordered a medium Chai Latte that costed about $ 4.50 which isn’t bad since it was super delicious, there was lots of froth, for me, I love latte froth/foam. The latte itself wasn’t too sweet compared to other places like Second Cup(theirs was too sweet and too expensive) and you actually taste the herbalness(not a word but I don’t care). My sister got a cheesecake brownie which was very delicious, a tad bit too sweet for me since I’m more of a savory person. The service was very good. Orders were taken fairly fast but that was a bit of a wait time but that is expected with the latte since the barista had to steep the chai tea leaves first and make everything else for it. The location is fairly good too, it is located conveniently across from the Rogers Centre and fairy easy to locate. I also like the décor, it gives off a nice homey feeling and it definitely made me feel welcomed and at home. Would come back if I’m in the area.

Food is good but my only complaint is their vent in the kitchen is not good. You go in smelling good, you come out smelling like food!

What a busy little place! Or should I say big place, as it’s a lot larger than I imagined from the outside. There really needs to be more coffee shops in this area, but good thing this is nice place. I stopped in quickly yesterday before a hike and grabbed a cappuccino. Very good, I must say. I found it comparable to Dark Horse Espresso. Cashier was friendly and the line moved fast, but once waiting for the drinks, it took a little while. However, a small wait at a coffee shop never bothers me; I’ve worked at Starbucks before and know what it’s like. I saw that they had red velvet cookies right at the cash and was dying to try one, but hey, I’m going to be in a bathing suit in 6 days, so I passed. For now. However, I’ll be back ASAP to try it. Along with the s’mores cookie. They’re pre-packaged, but I didn’t look to see where they came from. Hopefully they’re baked fresh every day. The one little detail I really liked is the lids. They have a little slidey thing(?) that opens and closes the hole you drink from. Great for preventing spillage in the car or fast paced walkers who always have their coffee jumping up through the sipper. Also, purple. So much purple.

Living in the area, Spot is my go-to coffee shop. They have a nice selection of food(great sandwiches), smoothies and your typical coffee shop type drinks. The coffee itself is good, but not great. Definitely a step up from Starbucks though! You get 1hr free wi-fi on every visit and they are usually pretty busy so finding a spot to plug in can be difficult at times. As for the food my favourites are the cajun turkey wrap and the bagel w/homemade veggie cream cheese(best deal there if you are looking for something to eat but dont want to pay around $ 10 for everything else on the menu). Overall this is a great coffee shop to visit to either get some work done or hangout with friends.

I am regularly visit Spot whenever I am in the area. Their coffee and tea lattes are lovely, on par with the other major chains in the city. I have also tried their breakfast menu and a couple of their lunch/dinner items. Breakfast is served all day. Their breakfast burrito can feed two people and it has a bit of a kick. Their pizza is thin crusted with the right amout of cheese and sauce. I often order this if I am in the mood for pizza. I am a fan of their hummus wraps, they usually have different hummus flavour daily posted on their specials board. If you are by the Rogers Centre and want a quick bite to eat or a coffee, stop by Spot Coffee!
