Ruined my hair for a year stay away

Called for an appointment on Thursday and was surprised to get one for Saturday afternoon. There’s street parking on Yonge just North of the salon. It’s a small shop but well maintained with friendly service.
I have very thick and heavy hair (typical Asian) so any attempt to do curls, waves or volume simply end in a semi-​straight frizzy mess within a few hours. Graham cut my hair and styled it perfectly! He also took the time to provide helpful tips for adding waves more efficiently (just 6 curls) vs the 26+ curls that I usually do which always end up in a hot sweaty mess with the first 10 coming undone. I left feeling like a million bucks — Hollywood glamour hair — while still pulling off the ‘oh, I just rolled out of bed’ look. It’s been a few hours and my hair still looks the same as when I left. SWEEEET!

Let me start off by saying — I am probably the pickiest client EVER. Okay that being said let’s get right to it: The people here are SO friendly. The worst feeling ever is getting to a salon and feeling like the stylists or aestheticians look down on you (for whatever reason). You definitely don’t have to worry about that here. I booked with the stylist Graham to do my hair, I showed him a picture of a celeb color and a celeb cut to give him an idea of what I wanted. (Think Jen Anniston cut with an Eva Green color) I wanted a dark brown but not too dark (most stylists make it too dark and it just flushes me out) and a medium bob cut with no bangs. I’m normally so picky about my hair and can’t seem to find a stylist who can deal with my awkward super curly and frizzy — but fine hair. (And none of them ever seem to be able to style it right) Well, I was SO impressed because he did it perfectly. The first time in a while I was 100% pleased with a cut and colour! This place definitely a hidden gem, way better than going to some talked about salon but not getting the same quality of service. I haven’t had a spa service yet but I will soon because I love the people here!

Staff were very friendly, I the consumer made the error of not checking prices prior to scheduling a «light trim.» Took me 20 min to get in and get out, but cost me 50+ for a haircut which I wasn’t thrilled with. Tack on another 15 in gratuity which I believe is necessary no matter what (as a former services industry employee) and you’ve got a very pricey «light trim.» Cheers.
