TidyWhity

Back in November I was told that TidyWhity was going on hiatus and I would be contacted when they were back in business. It’s now April and I have yet to hear from them.
I still think they had a strong customer service team — great communication when they were active — but in retrospect and especially in comparison to the cleaning service I have been using in the meantime, I won’t return as a TidyWhity client.
One of my disappointments with TidyWhity was the time they would spend cleaning, or lack thereof. Our house is 1450 square feet but the cleaners would routinely finish in about 45 minutes. Even with two people cleaning, and even with these cleaners being the «most efficient» TidyWhity has to offer (which is what I was told), a proper and thorough cleaning would take more than an hour.
(I did request more thoroughness each time, and will say that my bathrooms were always sparkling, but because the cleaners were so quick I always wondered what corners might have been cut.)
Anyway, I wish TidyWhity well but am not sad to part ways with them. The cleaning service I now use is not only less expensive but I have seen and can trust that the cleaning is deep!

I’ve tried the services from this place a few times hoping they’d get comfortable enough with my home to be proactive about tidying the place up.
My worst problem at home is being disorganized, clean laundry on the floor, random things out of place from where they should be etc. Every once in a while when things are totally out of control, I hire someone, hopefully professionals to do a job I can’t get around doing.
I didn’t like that they got so comfortable that they actually slacked off instead while there were THREE of them instead of the two that normally come. When I got back… instead of the pile of laundry being on the floor, it was now on the bed not folded or anything, all of my miscellaneous items (that do have homes) weren’t placed where their homes clearly are. I would have thought that at the very least they’d empty my ashtray or something but… nope. Still there.
I probably won’t be calling them again because the job they did was at the same level as my own… which sucks and is half assed. It makes things a bit worse ’cause there’s only one of me and two-​three of them. So what’s the point of paying someone else to do the same mediocre job that I can?

I really love that they list the pricing up front and that you can order online, but I will say the cleaning job was not quite what I expected for the price. They forgot to dust several areas that the website said would be cleaned, my shower tap was still running when I got home several hours later, and there were strange gaps, like they cleaned half the outside of my stand mixer but not the whole thing.
I will say the floors, bath, and stove were all sparkling and very impressive, and they did vacuum up a lot of pet hair, but for $ 120 I expected a lot more.
My sister has a much less expensive service in Oakville who even fold the end of the toilet paper roll into a point, like in a hotel, and her service costs significantly less. I probably wouldn’t use them again, but for a one-​off they were okay.

My wife and I were moving into our new house — long story short, — we just weren’t going to have the time to give the place a good, thorough, «move in» cleaning. But these folks handled it very well. They were amazing. I’m impressed.
Our friend referred us to TidyWhity, and the fact that they can come by on such short notice (~36 hours), we chose TidyWhity.
Bottom line: they were awesome, professional (even wrote us a thank you card) and we were very happy to move into our new home.
