This is the best chain coffee shop(i.e. a coffee shop like Timothy’s, Second Cup or Starbucks as opposed to little neighborhood cafes) that I’ve been to so far. It’s cute, conveniently located, has free and fast wifi and friendly staff. It’s also got a better selection of cakes than most other chain coffee shops. Their Chocolate Almond Cheesecake is really quite good(although I think they buy it frozen rather than fresh). In the summer they put out tables on the sidewalk, in the sun and this makes for a lovely way to get some sun and some work done. All in all, I recommend this place both for meeting friends for a chat and for trying to get a bit of work done. I would also pop in for some of their cheesecake, if you like cake and cheese(who doesn’t?).

This is a great little spot for getting work done or people watching in Bloor West Village. Right on the subway line, lots of power outlets and free WiFi(no password required). The staff are friendly for the most part, and the coffee’s great. My only problem with this place is how rammed it gets on weekends. If you can stomach all of the old people and stroller-pushers, it’s fine to run in for a quick coffee, but I wouldn’t advise trying to study here on weekends.

I love this Timothy’s mainly for its study spot attributes. It has lots of tables, outlets and free wifi. It’s also open late(11 p.m. on Sat nights), and it has great lighting. The chain seems to be trying to diversify a bit with healthier food(ex. soup, sandwiches, fresh fruit) which is nice — but the quality isn’t the greatest. For example, they have lots of posters up right now advertising the best oatmeal you’ve ever had, and then in small letters it says that its Quaker instant oats…

This is such a convenient location just out of the Runnymede subway station. The staff is helpful but not exactly friendly. IT can get pretty packed here in the summer time, but this is my go to place when exam time comes as there is free WiFi. As a photographer, I wish the art they put up in their walls would change a bit as it’s been the same exact stuff trying to sell in the last 2 years.

This is my favourite Timothy’s. They offer REALLY free Wi-Fi, they have outside tables for the sunny days and a friendly staff. Oh yes, it’s also close enough to my home. I use to prefer Timothy’s instead of Starbucks because of their Lattes and there’s a delicious thing — the Biscotti — which seems totally designed to be dipped in your hot drink and eaten afterwards. Really yummy. So, I drink & eat not-so-healthy stuff while I browse the interwebs for free. Sometimes I just go there for the free interwebs and end up ordering my default chai latte with soymilk. That’s life. There’s another Timmy’s down on Bloor, but this one is bigger, better, and has the important wi-fi thing. So I strongly advise going to this. You can also buy some coffee powder, or K-Cups, all these things there. K-Cups doesn’t sound like«hiccups»? I find that name really funny.
