Our focus is on the beer. With five rotating taps and a changing selection of about 35 bottles, we offer anything from local microbrews to Belgian Trappists and aged sours. The list is always changing so come check it out!

Historique

Fondé en 2014.

Wise Bar opened its doors in May of 2014 with the blood sweat and tears of owner Tamara Wise and her wonderfully supportive family and friends.

Wise Bar loves its beer, and loves its family. Come by to chat about your favourite brews, try a new one, or hear about which walls Tamara’s mom painted, or that time she decided to wallpaper a ceiling with her dad.

We went here for my friends birthday on Saturday night. It’s such a great spot. Tamara (the bar owner) saved us a cozy corner of the bar and gave us fantastic service all night. There was a nice variety of drinks to choose from, lots of a craft beers, but also some tasty mixed drinks. It was a perfect spot for chatting with friends and relaxing. It’s pretty small though, so call ahead if you’re coming with more than 4 people.

Good beer. Good service.
A range of bottled beers in a variety of styles and flavours.
We showed up durring a birthday that had spread across most of the avalible space; the bartender expertly managed to rein it in and managed to find us a table.
I cant speak to the food as we didnt have any.

Great neighbourhood pub and I really really dig this place. Small but solid craft beer selection and very cozy. They were running a Sunday night special, so the beer was actually cheaper than Disgraceland down the street.
Was a bad move to decide to check out somewhere else — I had to spend the rest of the night drinking shitty beer at Disgraceland because we thought it would be awkward to hit the same bar twice in a night.

Love love love. Small, intimate, and unpretentious spot with friendly service. You can get decent beers and drinks at a lot of places in this area, but not every spot provides the same friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Oh, yes. This is the best place. It’s very close to where I live, and I’ve been many times – it’s a great spot to drink beers and hang out. The beer selection is always interesting, and rotates frequently so there is usually something new to try. The service is very chill and the space occasionally has fun events (like silent movie screenings). Can’t recommend this enough as a place to have a beer and hang out!
(Also: super good date spot: the beer is cute, it’s small, the music is great, and there are little wildflowers and tea lights on each table. Guaranteed to make your date feel a little swoonier than usual… Would totally recommend!)

This place is everything we wanted! We got to enjoy craft beers we’d never tried before, all priced very reasonably, and discover a new favourite local bar in the process! The owner is lovely — she was tending bar when we were there, and it’s obvious that she’s poured her heart and soul into making Wise Bar a cool, friendly, beer-lover’s paradise. The décor is very stark and simple, and the bar is not huge, but definitely not cluttered, like so many other bloorcourt bars.
Also — I accidentally spilled my beer all over my friend’s pants while I was there. The owner came over and topped me up afterwards! Customer service at its best!
Definitely stop by this place if you’re a beer lover who likes to try new things!
