I liked the place I used to bring my shoes(see my review of Jose Shoe Repair), but I moved and this place is closer, so I gave it a try. Unfortunately I think I’ll be going back to my original cobbler. For one thing, the job was done much less neatly than at the other place. Also, Yiorgos is REALLY bad at communication. Having not heard from him by the day after which my shoes were supposed to be ready, I called. I ended up leaving four phone messages over a period of three days before he finally replied. At which point he said that my shoes had been ready for days. Um, why didn’t you call to let me know? On the plus side, the price was reasonable and he seems like a nice guy.

In case you’re still in denial, we’re in a recession. Wanna save some money? Why not do what people used to do: fix your shoes before you throw them away. Broken heel? Get it glued. Holes in the leather? Get ‘em patched. If you’re going for that old-world idea of fixing shoes, why not go to an old-world-y shop. Yiorgos just off of Bloor takes pride in what they do. They really«heel» your«sole» so to speak…(hehe! Shoe puns!). Let’s bring back the fine art of cobbling!
