A.K.A «The Mansion» or… as it is etched in our memories, «Mouldy Mansion» because of it’s aroma not covered by the«scented» dried floral arrangement in the main hall. This gawdy, 1905 Victorian style heritage home is said to be «restored».(To what I wonder.) There are many antiques that is for sure. But I wouldn’t exactly say the décor was period throughout. Each room and suite is comfortable enough, and provides a more than adequate accommodation. Kitchens with tables so that meals can be prepared at «home», are stocked with basic needs. Sitting areas with plenty of light, wireless and television, and the outdoor table and chairs to enjoy fresh air.(Which is really good considering the musky smell which permeates throughout the interior.) It’s not overwhelming, but it’s definitely there. This is not the quaint, bed and breakfast experience one might be expecting. The management is not the friendly«welcome to my home» type, but the price at least reflects what this place is. Also next door is the Old Castle Manor, good for longer stays, although even less quaint. Over all it becomes quickly apparent upon arrival that this place has received a little less than«a loving touch». The potential is there, and can be seen and felt.

Cute Mansion a few blocks off of Commercial Drive that has been turned into a B&B…well without the breakfast. Good price for a nice room on the third floor with a small bedroom, a kitchen stocked with the necessities, tea and coffee, and even an adorable sitting room with a nice view. The bathroom was outside in the hall but we never had to wait and it was very clean! Unfortunately the bathroom on the third floor had a tub with shower attachment but low slanting ceilings that prevented standing while bathing but it was fine for one night. The mansion also has a front yard/garden area with tables, chairs, cherubs, and fairy lights in the evening. Great for sitting out and having a glass of wine or a cup of tea! No breakfast included but the proprietor recommended a place on Commercial Drive where we got free coffee by mentioning where we were staying. A very satisfying experience!
