This resto isn’t all that great. The service is fine but the food just taste very plain. I don’t think I would ever come back. Money spent elsewhere will be better choice.

I had been there the previous Friday and was told they did not have takeout that day. I did not let that deter me. I went back yesterday to see if I could order their Box A: Roll Box Special for $ 10.95. I got the Dynamite Roll with shrimp instead of the California roll which cost an extra $ 1. It is a lovely restaurant and you can watch the chef prepare the food at the bar. There was even an octopus tentacle there! So cool. We have a ton of Chinese restaurants here so being able to order sushi with a salad, Gyoza and teriyaki chicken was such a treat. I waited for about 15 minutes. It was a cool dark day and the hostess brought over some tea for me to enjoy as I waited. So sweet! I had no idea that I was going to end up taking home so much food and styrofoam! There was a 10% discount coupon outside that I used. All of this food after taxes but before tip was under $ 12. I could not believe it. Looks like they gave me complimentary tempera too! With shrimp, zucchini and sweet potato. OMG, seriously??? What sweethearts. The chicken teriyaki was unbelievably tender. Not super sweet. Just enough to make a subtle but delicious dish. Shrimp in California rolls?! Are you kidding me? Delicious! I think these Dynamite Rolls were the highlight of my lunch and definitely worth the extra $ 1. The styrofoam for the tempura actually has a hole it in for the steam to escape so when I got home, everything was still amazingly crispy. Delicious! I might have to add this on to my order from now on. Yes, I will be back, LOL. The chicken teriyaki came with a salad(OK) and gyoza dumplings which got a little tough. The complimentary miso soup had the tiniest little cubes of tofu in it that I have ever seen. I am a huge fan of miso so I was thrilled they added this to my order. They spoiled me rotten but in the best way imaginable!

Service was not great. Waitress was nice but seemed inexperienced. A few mixed up. Slow in delivery. Food was lacking in size. Prices are overly inflated. Taste was ok.

Good food. Bad service. Music was annoying. This could easily be 4 stars w/better service.

If you want giant sushi rolls, you should probably go to Samurai on Fraser, because Arisu’s portioning is considerably smaller. But the presentation is a lot better and they have ridiculously good service. I even got a complimentary miso soup once when I was sharing a meal. The servers are really attentive. The pricing is a little higher than your average sushi place, but the ambience is a lot better, with really nice décor. It wouldn’t be a bad place to go on a date or to meet up with a friend to chat and catch up. If you have odd working hours or if you’re a student, you should try out their lunch special, which is quite cheap. I think it lasts till 3pm daily, but don’t quote me on that. It’s very well-priced and gives you a large sample of everything. Around $ 10 for several pieces of tempura, gyoza, beef or chicken teriyaki with rice, sushi roll, salad, etc.(with sashimi as a potential add-on). Their tempura is really good. Probably one of the best I’ve had. Fluffy, crunchy, and airy all at once, and not the least bit oily. Note that they’re closed around 3:30pm to 5pm daily or something like that.

Nice interior for casual dinning. I ordered the cooked sushi and it was great. My husband doesn’t recommend the spicy sashimi. It was drowning in sauce. Maybe ask for sauce on the side.

I used to visit Tea Works that used to be at this location. Today, I was returning home from a downtown wine tasting event. I hadn’t had dinner and so I got off the bus early and dropped in here for a visit. The place wasn’t full, so I got a seat instantly(about 7pm). The two waitresses were friendly and checked up on me throughout the evening. Even one of the chefs followed up with me from behind the bar. I ordered a seafood tofu soup and the assorted sashimi(15 piece). After I ordered, one of the servers asked if I wanted miso soup. I said sure, why not. I forget if that was complimentary or not as I didn’t examine the bill closely. My two items seem to add up so I reckon it was complimentary. Correcting an earlier review, the owners are Korean and so are the staff… not that it matters that much. I had a good experience here and enjoyed the food. I will return to try the Jap-Chae which I was originally intending to order, but changed my mind due to the waitress’ recommendation of the tofu soup which I don’t regret at all.

This place isn’t anything special. I ordered pretty bland and basic chopped scallop roll and the lunch special(Dynamite roll with plain udon). The udon soup was very bland with no flavour. The udon noodles were chewy. The dynamite roll with lack flavour and the warm creamy avocado wasn’t the greatest. While food sucked, the space is very bright and spacious. The new Japanese owners have a good location on the corner with giant windows, but they need to fix their food.

5 star food and service. They’re new in the area and prices are a bit over the regular, BUT this will be my go-to place. :) We ordered the special sushis. The salmon was very good and fresh.
