Since opening in 2007 Banana Tans.com has doubled in size and is now Vancouver’s largest indoor tanning centre.

Facility is OK (Main & Broadway), usually I would do the early bird special drop in, but the price seems to go up every year, it’s not much of a special anymore. I’ve had some up and down customer service experiences here. Lots of other options available I will go to instead.

I have been to a lot of tanning salons and this by far is the best. The beds are clean, the salon is gorgeous and the staff is awesome. For the girl who is complaining about tan lines from the beds, that’s a very common occurrence. There are signs everywhere telling you to move around and switch pressure points. You can’t expect to be glued to a machine, sweaty and warm and expect to get the same tan as you would on a beach under natural sun. Paul and John are awesome and so is the rest of their staff. I recommend them to all of my family and friends.

Having just come back from a vacation in Maui I wanted to maintain my tan for a photoshoot I have in two days. I went in to banana tans on Granville and west broadway explaining this and decided to go with a lay down bed. I have tanned numerous places before and never experienced lines like this on my body. They are extremely noticeable and when I called to see what could be done I was told I should have been moving around in the tanning bed. Not once have I ever been told this elsewhere nor was I told on the day I came in. I asked if maybe I could have a discount for my next visit to use the stand up bed and was denied this offer. I am very upset as the client I am shooting for on Tuesday will not be happy to see bed lines during her commercial bikini shoot and I may end up being replaced by another model if they have to use photoshop on every picture to fix this problem! I was hoping to make banana tans my new spot as I just moved in to the neighbourhood. Very disappointed with the way the manager chose to handle this and I will not be returning and I will be making sure fellow model employees do not go through the same thing as this could cause my a day of pay! It’s to bad as my bf and I were both going to buy passes and become regular clients even if this was resolved properly but I didn’t even get to speak to a manager directly! Thanks for nothing banana tans

I got a spray tan at the West Broadway Location and was more than pleased!
I called on a Saturday and they said they said that they weren’t booking until Monday or Tuesday. I explained that I was going to Mexico the following morning and they managed to squeeze me in.
The lady who did my spray tan made me feel super comfortable. The tan turned out great! No streaks at all, it wasn’t even smelly. It also lasted a lot longer than I expected it to!

I have been a regular customer of theirs for years now and have never had a bad experience. The prices are amazing and it is nice to go to a place and not have it be as shabby as MANY other tanning studios I have tried.
The staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
The only problem I have ever encountered is not paying enough attention to when the sales are, and missing them! (beggining of the month) he he, but that’s my own fault!

From time to time in this horrific Vancouver weather I feel the need to hop in a stand up escape pod for several minutes to catch some rays. This place offers a great walk-in tanning deal before noon each day. Friendly staff are always super quick at getting people in and out.

I definitely appreciate their cheap morning drop-ins and free parking around back. Been a client of theirs for a few months and was happy to find a place on my way to/from work!
However: they say the devil is in the details, and it seems like a lack of attention to detail is slowly infecting Banana Tans lately.
1.) The stand-up beds seems to have burnt-out bulbs lately. Four bulbs in a row in one! Only one in the one I used this morning. But still, how about *no* burned out bulbs?
2.) I don’t appreciate the smell of cigarette smoke invading my space. Being placed in a stand-up bed by the front door and having staff stand out there to smoke means all that stinky, smoky air is being sucked in by the fan on top of the stand-up bed. Tanning is supposed to be relaxing; I don’t want it to smell like I’m standing in a bar!

If Seasonal Affective Disorder has got you down or maybe Christmas time is especially stressful and you don’t want to get out of bed, get your pale butt down to Banana Tans!
I went in here today on a whim for a drop in for a dose of some fake sun and to warm up my frozen carcass. The place looks like the damn North Pole! Its incredible! They transformed their usual tropical décor into a real Christmas wonderland –they must have spent days and days decorating.
Once your eyes adjust to the super sparkly interior, you will notice complimentary punch and cookies, and chips, and chocolate and candies!!! OMG!
After stuffing a few nanaimo bars into my mouth, I headed for my tan and Awwww if there isn’t a mini candy cane on my towel — nice touch!
When I went to pay for my tan, they told me they would donate my drop in fee to the Vancouver Area Food Bank Society. Talk about Christmas Spirit!
If you bring in 3 non-perishable food items, you can get a FREE tan! «Free Tans for Cans» ha ha! This is happening until Dec 12.
Also a sale on lotions and minutes — 25% off. So go check it out — even the grinchiest of Grinches will appreciate it!

I was looking all around for stand-up tanning booths with knowledgeable staff and this place definitely fit the bill. They advised me on their high-powered machines since I was pretty afraid to try them. They are so nice, not pushy, and very safe about tanning.
They even include a mint on your towel and free eye protection, they are that serious. It also feels really cheesy tropical inside, and I like that as well. They have free parking in the back, but I haven’t been able to find it yet. 5 minutes in the high-powered stand-up machine cost me $ 6.80. What a deal!!!
