Historique

Fondé en 2007.

Bloom Midwives was founded by midwives with the aim of offering midwifery care to families in our neighborhood. Original founder, midwife and lactation consultant Lisa Sutherland, continues to nurture bloom. A few years later the business was expanded to include our Breastfeeding Center. We wanted to ensure our clients received expert breastfeeding support. Over the years we have expanded to offer our clients a complete range of services for preconception, pregnancy, birth and the early weeks after birth.

Gérant de commerce

I was drawn to Midwifery for its women and baby centered approach to pregnancy and birth, along with its commitment to wellness and preventative health care. The care I received throughout my pregnancies and births will forever be a reminder to me of the value of having this wonderful model of care.

Along with being a midwife, I am a certified lactation consultant and the founder of Bloom Midwives and Bloom Breastfeeding Center. I am a member of the Saint Paul’s Hospital Breastfeeding Committee and I am a Clinical Faculty member at the University of British Columbia. I am also a board member of the Midwives Association of British Columbia with a specific interest in helping to open B.C.‘s first birth center.
