Calling all Actors, Musicians, Dancers, Photographers, Movie Makers, Yoga Teachers, Personal Trainers & Group Fitness Instructors! We are a newly renovated 5000 square foot state of the art facility, which can be rented out as a whole space or by individual studios.

It has 20′ ceilings with two floors of windows bringing in natural light; Retractable floor to ceiling doors in studio 8; Reception Area, Kitchen with sink, microwave and full fridge; 2 Bathrooms with 2 stalls in each plus a 3^rd Handicapped bathroom, 31/​2″ Sprung wooden floors in all studios, Marley floor available; full length mirrors; portable barres; air conditioning, WiFi and sound systems in every studio.

It is a perfect space for acting or dance rehearsals, workshops, personal training, yoga, fitness, zumba classes, teacher training, meetings, congregations, weddings and events. At our studio, we encourage students to explore their personal style, expression, and discovering aspects of themselves they never knew existed.

Historique

Fondé en 2009.

We reach out to dancers, musicians and artist to empower all to have a voice and shape the culture of dance and art in the lower mainland. After years of collaborative partnership focusing on quality education in the arts and developing leadership programs like Free Style Fridays, and High School High, Anita P. and Jheric H. have joined forces to create Boogaloo Academy. Along with their unique talents, expertise and experience Anita and Jheric bring their strong educational philosophies, values and ethics to establish this state-​of-​the-​art institution.

At Boogaloo Dance Academy, we believe that the art of dance has the power to influence and affect changes in the world. Messages like anti-​bullying, that are meaningful to the community, underlie all of our work. It is through the creation and presentation of meaningful messages and experiences that we influence, educate and guide our students as well as engage and enlighten our audiences.

Anita P.

Gérant de commerce

Anita has been educating children in music, dance and drama for over 30 years. Her fascination with creativity, imagination, inherent motivation, human nature and actualizing human potential led to completing Bachelor of Arts degrees in English, Music and Drama. She then completed her Masters of Arts degree with a thesis on The Development of Artistic Awareness in Children. She has extensive training in Ballet and other forms of dance.

Jheric Hizon is a pioneer in the Vancouver street dance scene, having taught many of Vancouver’s hip hop teachers. He maintains a hectic schedule as an international dance instructor, choreographer, adjudicator and performer. He was chosen to choreograph and perform in the Vancouver Olympics 2010 Closing Ceremonies. Other performances include The Black Eyed Peas, Dance Delight, Concert openings, Mercedes Benz, Nike Presto, Disney Radio and Ayumi Hamasaki (Japan’s Queen of Pop).
