One of the better Cactus Club locations, most likely due to the test kitchen they have downstairs. You can find some really good things on the menu here that you don’t necessarily get at other locations. I think sometimes chain restos get a bad rep for their food, and I don’t always think it’s deserved. The food at cactus is in the mid tier of dining, but I find it to be consistently tasty, well presented, and in some cases pretty creative. Drink specials for happy hour are a good deal here too, with $ 4 beers and the soda with slush in it around the same price. Their signature cocktails are good, and I even got a good old fashioned made here. The«Fawlty Tower» is a sweet/bitter citrus cocktail that’s boozy and worth trying. The ambiance is what you would expect from a Cactus Club, so not much different here. The lounge is great for watching the game as they have projector screens. And the staff have always been cheerful and professional. I actually haven’t had a single bad meal here. Patio is a little small and parking isn’t abundant, but usually there are spots on the meter.

Came here for the 2015⁄2016 New Year’s Service with a friend. Prior to arriving we had called earlier to book 2 seats because we knew it would be busy for this day. Everything was smooth, got seated quickly by the friendly hostesses at the front and our server(Veronica) was very attentive to our orders and needs and often topping up our water and drinks. The food was really good as well. We ordered the Hunter Chicken for her and the Blackened Chicken Creole for me. Both exceeded our expectation in taste. The butter spicy topping on the Creole Chicken was phenomenal. The Hunter Chicken was also exceptional and satisfied my date. For drinks, we had the Bellini for her and I had the Epic IPA which was a really smooth and flavorful IPA. We skipped the desserts because we were planning to go to another palce for that. Overall we were satisfied with our Pre-New Years dinner at this location. I have been to Cactus Club but only usually tried their burgers and steak. I hope to try the Creole Chicken at other locations to see if Cactus Clubs are consistent. I highly recommend this location!

Excellent service, excellent food. I always leave Cactus Club Café completely satisfied! When you stop by this location, try their Veal Pappardelle — my husband and I go to this location specifically for this dish!

My friend wanted to go to this restaurant because she heard that Rob Feenie, the Iron Chef has a test kitchen here. I had to admit that I was intrigued by that, too. We went on a Friday night and it was packed! I’m glad that my friend had made a reservation though it did seem like people were clearing out after happy hour. Our server, Jordyn was excellent! She really knew her food and drinks menu and was able to answer all of my friend’s questions with ease! We found out what the Rob Feenie specialties were and decided to have them. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and it was to die for! My friend really enjoyed her prawn spaghettini, too! I don’t usually have much room for dessert but our server persuaded us to try this banana dulce pie and we’re so glad that we had it! We were so impressed because although it was a busy Friday evening, we still had great service and didn’t have to wait long for the food! We’ll go there again for sure!

This seems to be my go-to spot for lunch! Sunday was out of town guests and as usual, CCC on Broadway & Ash did not disappoint. There are kid-friendly offerings on the menu(my 11 year old nephew voted the chicken tenders as better than Costco). The 13 year old went out of his comfort zone to order the Tuna Club; sadly it was too far out for his enjoyment. I was looking forward to Thai chicken wings but that flavour has been removed — boo, please bring it back. But everything was fresh, hot and generous servings. I’ll definitely be back!

Not the best experience that I’ve had at Cactus. The server was hardly present, she came by to take our orders and that’s pretty much it. Our Calamari appetizer consisted of bits of batter and pieces of calamari that was sitting in oil. Not what I expected from Cactus at all. Not to mention, the plating was messy with oil stains and batter bits all around the sides. Going back to the lack of service, our appetizer and side plates remained at our table until we finished our entrée. When we told our server that the Calamari was below our expectations she did nothing to rectify the situation, instead, she simply took away the plate. Don’t think we will be returning to this location.

This Cactus Club has different menu compared to other locations. We wanted to try something different from the featured items menu. We had the Kale Chicken Salad which was very fresh, tasted light but lack of ingredients. There were just romaine lettuce, kale and grilled chicken breast. The BBQ Duck Clubhouse is very flavorful. I particularly like the bread used for this sandwich because it has different grains and cranberries on it. The service was outstanding today and our server was awesome. The ambiance was nice and it was a good catch up with my friend!

Came by for some beer. Parking here is pretty awful. Best to come by after 2200. The location is quite wide, but not very deep. It’s probably one of the smaller locations out there. The restaurant is split into a dining area, and a lounge/bar area. Music isn’t too loud, which is great for chatting. Staff are friendly and professional, though the waitress who served us that night seemed to take a liking to her colleague’s cell phone, and therefore couldn’t see my buddy and I waving to her several times. I understand it’s a slow night, and it’s fine to chat and socialize at work, but please at least look up every once in a while. Subtract 0.5 stars for this. The beer(Epic IPA) I had was decent.

Three visits here in September ’15. We were staying just along the road at the Holiday Inn, and the Cactus was on the way back from the Skytrain, so … This pub/restaurant is one of a chain in Vancouver, but don’t let that stop you. The pluses are many and various. A nice variety of seating, with high tables, booths, long bar and, in season, an outside area. Televisions behind the bar set on sport, plenty of energetic and efficient staff, decent beer list with plenty of local brews and an interesting and eclectic menu. Over my visits I tried, variously, the seared tuna, wonton soup and crispy mini-ribs. All very well prepared and presented. Prices were around the mean for the city. It gets very busy with the after work crowd around 1700, as in completely packed. If I was local to the area, this would be my regular watering hole, not least thanks to the excellent service from one of the delightful waitresses.

I have visited various Cactus Clubs. This one has a very cool, updated atmosphere. It has a really spacious dining area. The patio area is not great, as it fronts onto Broadway, so not the best view and a lot of cars. It is really close to the Cambie shopping area though, so makes for a welcome place to have a meal after shopping in this area. Eat inside and enjoy the great menu. This location sometimes has different items from other locations. I found out, this location acts as a test center for new items. They had a Veal Pasta dish that was new and outstanding. It had tender pieces of veal in a mushroom based sauce interspersed in the pasta noodles. The flavor was fantastic. I really enjoyed this dish and would order it again for sure.

We came here on a Friday night, it was busy but not too much so. We’d been to Cactus Club Cafes before but this one seemed different. It was more chill, darker, more spread out, and seemed to provide a more upscale experience than we’d had in our previous visits. We were seated in a booth on the outside edge of the restaurant. We were slightly elevated and could see nearly all of the restaurant, that was cool. We ordered drinks which were good, though nothing spectacular. We ordered starter salads which we’re good, beyond the normal starter salad. Then came the spectacular steaks. I ordered the Peppercorn Steak which came with potatoes and asparagus(I skipped the starch and got double asparagus. The demi-glacé was divine, really, really tasty, I could’ve just had two servings of that! The steak was cooked well and was also very good, the perfect compliment to the demi-glacé and the asparagus. The service was pretty good, it made for a nicely paced meal. We enjoyed the very good meal and the ambiance.

I usually love catus club but today was just sad. We had slow service and foods(3 dishes) were missing ingredients that were suppose to be in it. Our waitress help the table next to us and stood there flirting and talking to them for the past 15 mins while our food arrived not hot and by other waitresses. Just overall I was not impressed for the two days I came here the other waitress went missing and never refilled our glasses. Too make things worse the table sitting right by the handicap exit/entrance put a chair right by the door so no one could come in or out, so we had to lift my grandmas chair down the step outside of catus. Very disappointed in the service.

I went to this cactus only to buy a gift card but it was the smoothest transaction i could have expected. I walked in around 4:30 on a Monday afternoon and was greeted promptly by a passing host. He led me to the bar where a server rang in the transaction and made great conversation as I waited for the receipt. The inside was well-designed, clean and everyone eating/drinking seemed to be well looked after. Will return for a meal in the future.

Came here for drinks yesterday during happy hour since I had errands to run in the area. They have some decent specials during happy hour including their longboard lager for $ 3.50. Since I didn’t want to reek like beer afterwards, I opted to have the Sunset Soda times three. I don’t remember what they said was in it aside from vodka, but it was very refreshing and goes down smooth on a hot summer day like yesterday. I thought it had a little too much ice though, it easily took up at least half the glass. I can’t really complain though for $ 3. Service was decent and they have a good amount of patio seating. The back patio is pretty nice since you can enjoy the fresh air and still be covered from direct sunlight. But depending how sensitive your nose is, you might notice the smell of garbage from the parking lot next to it. Again, this rating is purely based on my experience here during happy hour and not ordering food here.

I tend to avoid these kinds of places, but someone gave me a gift card. Long story short, despite this being a yuppy joint with an expensive menu, the food was effing incredible. I stand corrected.

Food is always good at cactus club no matter which location you go to. The service at this particular location is probably the worst out of all of them.

I haven’t go to Cactus for a decade and maybe I don’t like franchise restaurants. We just walked over to Cactus after my mom had a doctor appointment on Cambie and Broadway. The host was pleasant and friendly. Our server was attentive. However, I was a bit disappointed of the food we ordered. Tuna tataki tasted fresh but a bit sour due to too much yuzu vinaigrette. Kobe style meatballs spaghetti the truffle mushroom cream was too greasy and meatballs were luke warm inside. Overall, the experience wasn’t bad. Casual quick lunch is ok.

As much as I prefer to support small, family owned business, I have to give credit where credit is due. This particular location is walking distance from my work, and I’ve been there for lunch, dinner, linner, and all the stuff in between. I’ve never had a bad experience, the service is always what you expect from cactus club — beautiful young ladies in short skirts that are incredibly polite(sometimes on overkill, but that’s hardly something to fault them for). I love that they have a good combination of pub-style food(burgers, fries, greasy things) and healthy options. Their Raincoast Greens is my favourite salad, that parmesan crusted chicken is delicious. I love that I can walk in there at any time of day and get a good meal, and that the person I’m eating with can have something completely different(usually they get a burger, and I get the healthy stuff) and equally delicious. The portions are good sizes, I’ve never left hungry — in fact, I can’t comment on their desserts because I’m always too full from the meal. Definitely a solid(if slightly predictable) choice.

Give any sushiesque appy a miss here. Otherwise, par for a Cactus Club course.
