I was an avid cranberries spa goer (it’s on the cheaper side and close to my house, and i like the small atmosphere) but then…
My sister got me a pedicure for my birthday, I went in sat down and was greeted by a new lady that I had never had their before (this is crucial to the story!) so she starts asking me the normal questions (you live in the area? what do you do? etc.) and then all of a sudden she points to my face and starts asking about my ACNE!!! she was asking way to personal of questions asking me what I use, why it’s so bad, etc. etc. etc. I was mortified, because just a week prior I was diagnosed with Cystic Acne– a very VERY painful and stubborn form of acne, and I am VERY self conscious about it. I told her 2x it was rude to keep asking, and told her to stop but she would not let up.
I do not care who you are, or what you may or may not know, you do NOT go pointing out someones flaws and making them feel bad about them. If she was obese I would not have started asking her why she wasn’t at the gym, why she wasn’t eating healthier etc. Because it is NONE OF MY business!!! Just as my acne was none of hers. She was a real b****, I will never EVER step foot in here again.

I’ve been here only once. The staff was pleasant. The manicure and pedicure itself was okay, a bit expensive for the quality and atmosphere.

I had a manicure here. First of all the staff are super nice and helpful. Have no problem with them, and actually enjoyed talking to my manicurist. The atmosphere is okay. My problem is that I had a manicure done, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either — the nail polish surface was uneven and the distance between my cutical and where the polish started was just too much. If this was a cheap express nail ball for $ 18.00-ish, I won’t be upset, as you get what you pay for — BUT their prices are high and I expect quality.
I may try their other services, but I will not be going back for a manicure.

I’ve been here twice in the last year and every time I go I am left a little disappointed. The first time I went I had a gel manicure. There was quite a large space left between my cuticle and where the gel polish began. Also the surface on top of my nail was uneven. For $ 50 I expected a much better end result. The next time I went I got a basic mani. I’m always very careful right after I get my nails done and the nail polish smudged after I left. I didn’t have time to go back and get it fixed. At least the technicians are all very lovely and kind.

Stopped in to check on their services. I was able to schedule a facial and massage for that afternoon. I was VERY happy with the service and the results.
I would definitely take time when I am in Vancouver to go back.

The best place in Vancouver to get a manicure and/​or pedicure that lasts and lasts. Christy, the owner, ensures that her technicians (aestheticians) are perfectly trained. And they are super friendly too!

Been here a couple of times and all the staff member, Kristy, Sam, Pauline and John are great! The back massage is excellent and pedicures are great too. I had problems with breakouts and they can provide great products to deal with it and it works great!

Such a great vibe in this spa Christina is amazing I love the way she does my nails. I highly recommend asking for the glitter toes I get nothing but compliments all the time. Thnx Christina your the best

They were flexible and very accommodating as I arrived late. My daughter (6) went with me and they serviced her with the same level of attention and care they did me even if she was only getting polish changes. Great color selection. Only criticism is seating is not the most comfortable and prices can be a bit steep. Service does live up to price.

Really, nothing to complain about. That story about not cleaning the nail filings from Sophia M is awful, and if I had read that before going it might have changed my mind about going in the first place, but that wasn’t my experience at all.

My favourite place for a pedicure. Amazing staff and great service. I love sitting on the high bench and watching the characters walk down Robson. I would not hesitate to recommend this place for any spa service you want.

Cozy, super clean, bright, cheerful. The service is professional and friendly. Christy, the owner, is a mermaid (I am convinced).
I have tried: pedicure, mini-​pedicure, lip and chin wax, leg wax, bikini wax, manicure, facial. All treatments have been wonderfully executed; clean, skilled, with lasting results.
Life has been busy and I do not get to visit as often as I would like. However, I will *always* be a regular!

I tried Cranberries after walking by this little spa for weeks seeing a 20% off sign for pedicures on Tuesdays. Here are some comments:
Good: great location in downtown Vancouver, friendly staff, excellent selection of OPI colors
Not-​so-​good: pricing
The pedicure stations at Cranberries are located right at the front of the store. You will be seated a few feet off the ground on a padded bench. Feet are soaked in individual sinks without jets (I prefer this as it is more sanitary) before the treatment is done on a footstool.
I had booked a pedi on a Tuesday as there was a 20% discount. I had indicated to the receptionist that I wanted a «pedicure». When it came time to pay, I was charged for an «ultimate pedicure» which is $ 17 more. While the pedi was fine, I was turned off by this practice. Now in reviewing their website (
) I am upset to see that with the cost of a «ultimate pedicure» I was entited to a bottle of OPI polish and a paraffin foot mask. I feel a little ripped off to be honest.

Was just checking this place to see if they specialized in men’s facials but boy, starting at $ 90, even this area is seeing Yaletown prices.
I was inquiring about healthy products but somehow, she steered me towards regular skincare, talking about their Dermalogica brand but there was this French brand skincare w/​25% off…
But it’s a nice funky space, looks recently renovated. Been there 7 years, across from the library.
If anyone knows a healthier one for men, pls let me know!

I’ve been to Cranberries a few times on my lunch break for a quick pedi (but this I will save for another review!) and when I saw a Wonton Coupon for a Brazilian I thought I’d give it a try. I’ve been to many different places when it comes to waxing, I’m not really a prude when it comes to this sort of a thing — I just expect a great service! And I am happy to report that is exactly what I received at Cranberries.
The salon was clean and bright when I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted promptly and pleasantly. I arrived a few minutes early, but they were able to accommodate and take me in right away. Because I was using a Wonton, I let the staff know right away and they were awesome about it.. I’ve used Groupons/​Wontons before and had the staff basically ignore me/​half-​ass my services because I wasn’t paying full price. Not at Cranberries! It is always nice to go in to an establishment and feel important right off the bat.
I was taken to the room where I would be getting my services done to change, and this is where Cranberries loses a star for me. The room was immaculately clean, but very small/​undecorated. I had only small stool to place my belongings and after shopping on Robson, my bags made the small room feel even more tight/​cluttered. But again, minor nit-​picky stuff for me.
Parveen waxed me perfectly in under 15 minutes! She was gentle and professional, but maintained a decent amount of small talk to banish the initial awkwardness. She explained to me that she prefers to swab oil on the skin prior to applying the wax (as opposed to rubbing alcohol/​sanitizer) as it pulls the skin less/​gives a better result. Boy, was she right. This is one of the best waxes I’ve ever had! I was also impressed to see that she didn’t double dip the applicators, way too many salons are still doing this.
All in all, I think I’ve found a new place to get waxed. Affordable, friendly and first-​rate service — what more could a girl ask for?!

I got one of those group coupons for Brazilian wax and I have to say this is one of the cleanest waxing I’ve gotten so far.
The esthetician’s name is Samatha and she did a nice job of clearing the fuzz on the peach. She explained to me that she uses two waxes: traditional and hard wax (looks like bubble gum when hardened) to achieve the perfect brazilian.
I was very satisfied with the results. She was professional and the room is clean. I picked up a travel kit of I Love My Muff because my coupon also entitled me to 15% off all products.

I went to Cranberries first after getting to know one of the owners. It turns out also that it is one of my good friend’s favourite spa!
I went for an eyelash and eyebrow tint. I had never done it before by Christy put my fears at ease and walked me through the process — and it looked great!
The photos on Unilocal are a little outdated I think — they’ve redone the pedicure area and it’s a lovely bench now that can fit 4 people I think (super cute pedi party coming up in my future!!)
They have deals every day which help keep things affordable, and the staff are super friendly and good at what they do!
I’ll definitely be coming here again!

I was visiting Vancouver and I needed a massage because my back was hurting.
I was able to make a appointment for the next day which was great.
Jaime gave me a 30 minute massage which was great. She was able to work out the kinks in such a short amount of time.
Yes the place is small but sometimes smaller is better than bigger. They have great service.

Sorry, Cranberries, your name is cute, but your manicure is sloppy and overpriced.
The place is so tiny, I felt like Alice in Wonderland on shrooms.
I asked for french manicure. And it was somewhat carelessly executed, but that’s not what really got me.
What really got me is that the junk from filing wasn’t cleaned under the nails. I’m not even going to comment this.
I asked if I could get a flower on the thumb nails, but the aesthetician said, «Sorry, I do not do nail art». Oh. Really?
«I can do a sticker», she proposed. Okay.
What I didn’t know, is that the sticker leaves a very ugly imprinted outline right in the nail polish. And then, it looks especially enticing, when the sticker peels off the next day and you have that horrid imprint left.
That was the most ludicrous and unsatisfying way to spend forty something bucks (actually, fifty, because, silly me, I tipped in spite of everything).
