EcoGREEN Cleaning Services

Very similar experience to Jamil M’s from December. We used Frank’s team in early December 2015 for a move-​out clean and the unit was full of missed spots, huge shiny streaks of pledge across the floor, dirty mirrors and glass, and large areas of dust. We were actually charged an additional $ 150 by the property management company to do a cleaning after we had already paid Frank. We e-​mailed him to let him know that the service was poor and never received a response. I do not recommend this company at all and suggest you put your cleaning dollars elsewhere.

Used Frank and his company for a condo move out clean earlier this year. This was a bad decision. The unit honestly looked exactly as dirty after the cleaning; there were blatant stains, spills and dirt left behind. There is absolutely no way that a 2 hour clean with 2 maids could have been responsible for this. Take note that the checklist on the website are what EcoGreen CAN do, but won’t unless specifically asked (and likely charge extra for). While able to schedule a re-​clean after some back & forth and picture evidence, the company failed to even show up. I ultimately cut my losses after losing faith in Frank and his team and settled for a 50% refund. At the end of the day, there are much better options in the city for cleaning services. Don’t make the same mistake I did!

They left my place feeling and smelling clean.

I had the carpet cleaning service done on a Saturday last weekend.
Arranging the appointment: easy. I called the number and Frank called me back after missing my call initially. He had me set up with a quote and an appointment within 3 days. They also do weekends, which is amazing because with my work schedule, I can never be home during weekdays.
The day before: a bit of a mixup because the cleaner called me saying he was there (I was at work), but it was quickly resolved. I believe he mixed up my phone number with the number of the person whose place he was at. I called Frank to clarify and the appointment date was still for the next day.
The day of: Alex, the cleaner arrived within 5 minutes. He took a look inside and bravely got started. Let’s just say that my carpets were not in good shape. They were messy and stained and had small patches where a dog had chewed them up. Nonetheless, Alex was polite and professional. He took 2.5 hours, a full hour beyond the estimated time and clearly put in good effort trying to scrub the stains out. I was quite impressed.
The end result: almost all of the stains were gone. The carpet looked much fresher than it had, making it seem like my house was brighter and cleaner (despite the rest of it still being a mess). Some of the stubborn stains were still present, but at least reduced by 50% in severity. I was pretty impressed.
Heads up: I would warn you to not walk on the carpets in slippers while they’re wet. My husband did that and now we have new slipper stains. But that has nothing to do with the cleaning itself.
Overall, great job. Cleaning itself was better than I’d expected, and the service from both the cleaner and the owner was great. If I ever actually clean things again, I would use the carpet cleaning service again.

I contacted them on behalf of the place I work for to obtain a quote for weekly cleaning of our shared office space.
They responded to my inquiry within 3 hours and immediately scheduled an on-​site estimate.
The gentleman who came in for the quote was friendly and polite. We presented him with the scope of work and he gave us a PDF quote within 48 hours (faster than we had expected to have the quote done by).
They were a bit out of our budget, therefore, we had to shelve the quote. This review is based on the exceptional communication we received from the company.

Don’t waste your money on the cleaners. They’ll show up with more people than expected, stay for a short time and demand double the time in money. Floors weren’t even partially cleaned, debris everywhere and I don’t think they even attempted to vacuum — sure didn’t look any different.

Franks team were exactly on time and very diligent with their services. We consider ourselves very picky when it comes to the cleanliness of our home, and Franks team was outstanding! Highly recommend them!

Today was my first experience with ecogreen. I asked my mom to let the cleaners in because I was at work. They arrived early for the 3 hour cleaning that I booked. We recently moved in and renovated so our place was quite dusty and very dirty. It was so nice to come home to such a clean and tidy place! Our hardwood floors and counters are gleaming, carpets thoroughly vacuumed, beds neatly made, toys put away, windows and mirrors smudge-​free, etc. They even got out most of the drywall mud that had splattered and dried on our solarium floor tiles. I didn’t even have to ask! Thats the best. Needless to say, I am very pleased with the results.

Quite pleased with the service provided by this company. I booked 4 hours and had 2 cleaners. They cleaned meticulously. My only complaint/​confusion is that they did not empty any of our garbages which I felt was odd. I will book with them again but will ask about the garbages beforehand next time. Another plus was that I was able to book a cleaning asap after my email correspondence with Frank which was prompt and professional.

Top notch cleaning job. Tom was polite and sincere, called ahead to let me know he wouldn’t be quite on time for my appointment. With Vancouver traffic what more can you expect?
The slobs that rented the place before me left the unit in disaster shape, especially the carpet. Before and after was the difference between night and day. I cleaned carpets myself for a few years and didn’t honestly know what to hope for. Carpets that haven’t been properly maintained over years are never guaranteed to look good again. Every single stain and spot came out.
I’m a genuine clean freak and have a pretty high standard, this company is wholeheartedly recommended. Competent with an eye for detail, unhurried cleaning, and the price was more than reasonable.

Carpet cleaning — The carpet cleaner did good job.
House cleaners — WASTE OF MONEY! We hired two cleaners for a move-​in deep clean, they spent 3 hours ‘cleaning’ an empty house before we moved-​in.
1) They didn’t bring any eco-​friendly products.
2) They basically vacuumed/​mopped and then gave a quick wipe/​dust to any obviously visible/​reachable surfaces. A LOT of things were skipped. Anything that wasn’t immediately visible or not in easy arms reach was left completely untouched (like under the hood of the stove, inside bathroom drawers, the top shelves of cupboards, above/​beneath the kitchen cupboard, etc.).
3) Any surface that required an actual scrub was left dirty/​grimy (e.g., light switches, around door knobs, kitchen backsplash, etc.).
I did not feel like I was moving into a clean house at all. I contacted the owner Frank, but I did not get any resolve. I am pregnant and have a toddler so it was very hard for me to redo any of the cleaning myself. I ended-​up paying a different cleaner to come through and actually clean the place properly, and the she was amazing (thank goodness!!).

I chose EcoGreen based on Frank’s quick response and their reasonable quote. However, the cleaners arrived 2 hours late and did a horrible job. My house felt cleaner before they had arrived. The products they used were GreenWorks in case you are wondering. The original quote for cleaning a 4 bedroom house was approximately 4 hours with 2 cleaners but the cleaners decided to leave 2 hours early due to their own personal schedule and still charged me with full 4 hours of cleaning. When I confronted them they said they cleaned ‘extra fast’ to make up for the 2 hours they had missed. They refused to leave unless I paid them the full price.
I’m still giving this company a 1 star because Frank did refund me the extra 2 hours they had charged me afterwards. He dealt with this issue very efficiently and sincerely.

Very happy with the carpet cleaning service provided on the move out from my last apartment. Alex was very professional, calling about 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment to let me know he was running a bit late. That worked out perfectly fine with my move day schedule. He was thorough and did a great job. Passed my move out inspection. No problem.

— Arrived 15 minutes late after initial reschedule. No apology or explanation was given.
— Poor standard of cleaning products (Great Value brand oven cleaner).
— Oven was cleaned to a sub par standard. Looked like it had been almost forgotten about.
— Staff left with cleaning supplies belonging to us (2 tubs of Clorox wipes and a tub of Comet cleaner)
— Balcony filthy, despite specific request to clean. Looked like a mop had been half heartedly dragged over it.
— Tried to charge $ 63 over promised price and argued rather than checking records. Eventually admitted mistake and apologized, after I text Frank, the owner.
— Told us we had to pay for their parking, even though this was not previously discussed. I assumed this would be included in the cost of doing business.
I’m moving overseas, so my girlfriend and I are spending a couple months apart and we had hoped that hiring a professional cleaning service would buy us some extra time together. When we were told by our landlord that we would be subject to a $ 150 deduction from our damage deposit, we spent the evening re-​cleaning the apartment.
Don’t waste your time and money. Avoid.

I have been using EcoGREEN for several months for a regular fortnightly house clean. We have the same two cleaners every time, and they come at the same time, which is important. The communication from Frank is great, and if there are any schedule changes (usually associated with public holidays) new plans are made clearly.
The cleaners are friendly and trustworthy. They do a pretty good job for a regular clean, but don’t really put in extra effort over that basic level unless asked. They don’t really pick items up but just dust around them, and sometimes the forget to clean behind doors, etc, but they will take care of special issues when requested. Curiously they do move the couch and rugs to wash the hardwood floors underneath though, which is great. The price is reasonable though for the service offered.

I did have a concern with one of the cleaners and Frank rectified the problem with a sufficient $ 25 credit with no arguments about it at all. I rated 5 stars even with a slight concern because at the end of the day Frank really does go out of his way to make things right. Being in sales myself, as well as a consumer, I understand things don’t always go as planned. I think its important to recognize the companies that do try their best to provide customer service. Frank has always backed up his company with customer service in my home.
I had requested that that cleaner I had a concern with not clean my place anymore and some how the message did not go through or was overlooked and the cleaner was sent out again. Obviously I was not pleased and he gave me a 50% discount on the cleaning service without me even asking for a discount!
I find Frank very easy to deal with overall. I can be a demanding customer at the best of times (I’m sure Frank will agree.) and my guests were changing check in times, or requesting extra things, that would add time to my day, as well as Franks. He was always very accommodating and professional.
I notice people complain about them showing up late. Well, in my opinion if that was a one time use, and first time visit, found parking, navigated traffic, its not unreasonable that they are late sometimes. I do sales call all the time, it happens when you are attending a new location for the first time. I only had one problem with a cleaner showing up extremely later (1 out of more than 20 cleanings), and it was extra time spent at the job before.
I used Eco Green 3−6x per month over the past 6 months.
I have been using cleaners now off and on for over 10 years. Based on my experience this company definitely ranks within the top 3. I went out of my way to write another review for Eco Green because it is very very difficult to trust a new cleaning company with full access to your home. I trust Frank to manage my needs.

I have a six month old, who spits up quite a bit and has left stains every where in our apartment. Our apartment is carpeted IN WHITE. My son’s nap time was approaching, Frank was very considerate and cleaned Tristan’s room first. Our apartment is clean and odourless.

I called Eco Cleaning Service because another carpet cleaning service fouled up the appointment (don’t ever use Direct Cleaning Services Inc. they are the ones on Groupon and all those sites. I made an appointment a week before then I called the day before to double confirm because it was an important job, but of course they didn’t show up and didn’t do anything to correct the situation). Eco cleaning took my appointment at very short notice to get me out of a jam. Very professional and great communication.
The person that showed up was named Karwan. He was professional and on time. He did a great job and made sure he got every corner, he also made sure to clean any mess that might be left over. The only thing that surprised me was that he came with a portable carpet washer, but a high end portable washer. I’m sure some people want those carpet cleaners that has a huge unit connected to their truck. I feel the portable unit was a lot better then those huge units because it didn’t damage any walls or have to move a huge amount of hoses all through the house. The dirt that came out of the cleaner was proof enough that the portable unit works great.

I don’t feel as though I have had enough experiences with them to justify giving the 5 stars, but I am really happy with them so far. There have been a few small issues re: time of arrival, under/​overestimation of how long the cleaning will take, and problems finding my house. But by now I think we’ve worked out all the kinks, and I have been really happy with the freshness and cleanliness of my home after the cleaners were done their work. At least twice the cleaners finished very efficiently, and were there for a shorter amount of time than I had thought it would take. My office looked completely different, in a good way. Before this I had thought that the room was hopeless and I hadn’t expected the cleaner to make any sort of effort to make it tidier at all. But I can see the floor now!
I think that for the people who had disappointing experiences, they should try a couple more times. it’s worth it for the safer products, especially if they have pets or children. The more experience the cleaners have with the home, the more efficiently they can clean it, in my opinion.
