Love love loved this store! So glad I came across it. It was so nice to hear about the Snap brand!
Wear recycled clothing! They recreate them so well and fashionable.

Went to their $ 10 bag vintage sale, all the clothes were just thrown on the ground for everyone to dig through like rats in garbage, if you needed to go further into the building you had to step on top of the clothes.
Various clothing gotten we later found out to either be stained or contain huge holes in them.
These clothes were in such poor condition that all they are good for is to use as dish rags.
Will never be going back or recommending.

Solid 3.5 if you’re looking for vintage stuff, though I couldn’t find that leather jacket that Al Pacino wore in Donnie Brasco, but I’ll digress.
With a boring store front, it’s easy to miss and unfortunate, there’s always a red light stop at Main/​Broadway, surprise, surprise. As to be expected, parking’s tough here during rush hour.
it’s a big store with lots of stuff, actually found more men’s than womens. Shoes in the back corner.
Liked their dressing rooms, as per pic, they used the old Hudson Bay blankets that weren’t saleable, and turned it to a sheet.
Prices are to be expected.
Good deals on no-​name sunglasses.

This is a very cute boutique. The styles are very unique and special. You cannot get the same clothes anywhere else in Vancouver. I bought some Christmas sweaters from them last winter and I got many compliments. I hope they would get more women’s clothes coz most of their clothes are for men. Service is helpful and friendly.

What an amazing Vintage Store! F As In Frank has a great location right on Main and Broadway. The stuff members are super friendly and really helpful in picking you clothes. They have a great collection of mens & women’s stuff. Everything looks really good in shape and the prices are not to high. I love the design and the vibe at the store. I am glad we got such an great Vintage Store in East Van… Check it out!

I used to walk by this place every day thinking what monstrosity of outfits they displayed outside. Hideous ‘ugly’ jumpers, denim skirts, and clothes only the hardiest of hipsters would wear.
Whenever I ventured in, it seemed filled with vintage tat clothing and more denim. So I never bought anything. Till I needed a really cheap white dress for a fancy dress thing. Instead I found THE COAT.
I had been searching for a beautiful coat with a fur collar for ages and they were either hugely expensive or ugly as sin. This one was powder blue with grey chinchilla collar and cuffs. Soft as a puppy! Or, you know, a chinchilla.
I did some quick research and discovered it was from the 50s and authentic fur. And only $ 70. I could hardly contain my glee at such a find. And bought it straight away. A diamond in the rubble of Main Street, who would’ve thought it?
So definitely go in and give this place a visit.

I went in here on my recent visit to Vancouver and had a great time. My cab just happened to drop me off right in front and I noticed the Christmas sweaters on display. My sister is having an ugly Christmas sweater party in a couple weeks so clearly I HAD to go in. They have SO many sweaters. The guy working (didn’t catch his name but this was earlier this week) was incredibly helpful. What a neat store!

I visited this shop yesterday before flying home. Very friendly staff and great filtered vintage pieces. Picked up handbag & top, both in great condition & reasonably prices.

I follow these guys on twitter and found out about the 40% summer clothing sale and decided to come in on a thursday afternoon. It wasn’t busy at all and I saw that there was also a 30% off discount for the non-​summer stuff too!
Whenever I’m in the main street area I always make this place one of my go-​to destinations. They always have a wide selection of vintage clothing and I’m in love with the outfits that they have on display. The price range is a bit high (eg: $ 32 for a simple tank top etc), but when there’s a sale on the prices are pretty decent.
I tried on a LOT of things — multi colored oversized blazer, oversized acid wash denim jacket, a couple tank tops and a yelow print dress that looked like it came form the 60s. The sales associate (angela) helped me decide what to wear with the dress (jacket/​shoes/​accessories) which I found to be super helpful. It was too cute to pass up! I noticed a hole on the side on the seam that I could easily fix myself, but I asked if they would give me an additional discount for it. The cashier lowered the price from $ 32 to $ 28 and applied the 40% discount on top of the lowered price. I was super happy about this! Also they threw in a cool sticker for free.
I feel like I need more time to shop here so I’m going again to take my sister here before the sale ends!
Update: I came back to redeem my «20% off next purchase» deal and got 2 new things! A red bag and a pair of floral sunnies. So happy about this! Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal to get your deal too!

I collect vintage clothing and swimsuits (50’s-90’s designer to non). I have been in a couple times and was impressed with one or two swimsuits they had at the time, but the pricing was way off.
I am getting to the point where I need to unload some of my collection and went in yesterday to inquire about selling some stuff I had. The girl acknowledged me and was polite until I asked who did their buying, right away she said usually me or the manager. So I asked what they are looking for, just fall or were they taking winter stuff too. She looked me up and down and said well it has to be vintage, so 20 year old, at least. This girl was maybe 23, was wearing all new clothing and acted like she knew more than me regarding vintage clothing, which I didnt appreciate, especially because I am way older than she is and lived through the 80’s and 90’s and felt that she was a bit snotty to me. I get it that they probably have lots of people come in who want to sell and think they have something really special, when they dont.
From walking around the store I saw items that were newer than 20 years old and not just there «retouched/​renewed» stuff. I just didnt like how this girl treated me after I asked about the buyers, wish I had just asked to speak with the owner/​manager instead, my opinion of the store may have been more positive.

I have been to this shop many times since they opened and I am always amazed at the awesome selection and quality of the goods! The prices are more than fair and the friendly and knowledgeable staff are so outgoing and helpful! The owners are two super nice guys who can source you pretty much anything! This shop has been setting trends in Vancouver since they opened and will continue to do so! Ah! I went to browse and found about 6 solid things I will purchase in the future, in theory, with a bit of a heftier price tag than I like.
The girl that worked there was very sweet and helpful though and I found it quite delightful inside.
I like the undone-​redone style but I can’t pull a lot of that off. Still, fun to browse in.
Maybe I’ll go back for that one sweater…

You know what? You may not realize it, but F As In Frank is a GREAT idea. I mean, for you, personally. These guys jumped the gun on a current fashion trend YEARS ahead of the game. 90s revival is in full swing and I just KNOW you didn’t save that massive Archie t-​shirt you loved in grade 4. (This is getting kinda autobiographical…)
Anyway, the folks at Frank have gathered together all the kitschy, ridiculous bad ideas from the 90s that you loved so much, and made it easy for you to find them. Yes, they’ve hiked the prices, but that’s the point of vintage shops. Stop complaining — of COURSE it’s more expensive than thrift. They’ve done all the work for you.
I find the service a little pretentious, but you know what? The kids who work here ARE cooler than me, so fair enough. What I like about this place is that it’s a concept shop and it’s done well. And there’s a growing population of hip kids in this town who are rocking a grunge skid style, and just you watch, they are at the forefront of fashion.
Man, I can’t wait to re-​read this review in two years. PSYCH.

Where to start. Considering the other shops on Main, like Temple of the Modern Girl, and Woo, are friendly and diversely stocked, I don’t understand why this shop doesn’t try harder. When I walked in there were badly-​cut ‘refashioned’ dresses going for $ 52 a pop, barely any skirts, and a lot of fringed belly shirts. That was it. There was a lot of men’s stock but I’m not a man, so… blah.
Then, the staff. Someone previously mentioned the bitchface, and no one in there is even half attractive or fashionable enough to get away with the kind of haughtiness you’d expect in Shoreditch or Williamsburg. The assistants need a serious come-​to-​jesus talk on customer service and politeness, like, I don’t know… being aware when a customer has entered the shop and perhaps even, managing to swallow whatever sour resentfulness you’re feeling and keeping a friendly and polite tone.
This store is a big olé’ pile of crappy, overpriced, poorly sourced blah.
I wouldn’t even bother to pop in for a look, picking your nose for 5 minutes would be a more productive use of your time.

I’ve been hesitant to write this review at first ’cause I first entered this store when it just opened, therefore, were working out the kinks. Sadly the experience left me feeling a little soured which is why I haven’t returned since. I am assuming that the customer service has improved by then.
I love visiting my 90’s self outside flannel and 80’s…a hell’s yeah. However, this isn’t the awesome 80’s that I was expecting. It more like thrift store 80’s rather than the cool John Hughes movies 80’s.
What did attract me to the store when it opened was the authentic vintage Rush ringer t-‘s. I really wanted a shirt and was willing to pay $ 150 for it, however, they did not have their credit card machine set up. Fair enough as they were only a week old at that point and setting up terminals and what not takes time.
I didn’t have the cash on me and asked them, begged them, if they give me a call as soon as they have their credit card terminal up and running. This was my dream shirt, fit like a charm, looked good on me, my boobs looked great in them and even though it was $$$, it was vintage.
They took down my name, I even offered a deposit (which they declined) and guess what… I never heard from them ever again.
I was heart broken over the shirt, the one time I go ape shit over a shirt.
The handwritten price tags were a little deceiving and hard to read, therefore, if something said $ 90, it was really $ 190. Legible handwriting for pricing is appreciated.
They did have some Pee Wee Herman and Michael Jackson vintage shirts = awesome. Not sure what their stock is now.
Most recent reviews show more 80’s selection, therefore, the next time I am on Main street I will give it another short on the toy and trading card front and update my review in accordance.

I have gone in here several times. each time hoping that I am going to walk out with some gem of a vintage find… and instead each time I walk out wondering what in the hell I was thinking and asking myself (yet again) why on earth ALL second-​hand stores smell the same. (What is with that!?)
This place is hardly a ‘vintage’ shop. It’s a glorified, overpriced thrift store. They occasionally have cute accessories. but the clothing is always waaaay too expensive and generally from the 90’s, maaaaybe late-80’s. You are really better off going to Value Village.
F as in Frank misses the mark big time.

I am a sucker for dead-​stock and reasonably priced vintage. Wish this digs was a little cheaper, though (mind you, I wish everything was a little cheaper). Ive managed to make a couple purchases there and am really happy with them. Sure its a little over the top, neo-​hipster goofball, but it carries a real charm.
Like Christine R. says, its almost more of a museum. Ah memories of a simpler time. A time where my mother still made me packed lunches, and I could watch Saved By The Bell and Fresh Prince, back to back after school.
I will go back. Probably soon. Probably for a dead-​stock Grizzlies hat Ive been eye-​ing.

I’m a little scared. No, I’m very afraid. This store has assembled all the bad fashion trends of the late 80s/​early 90s. Overalls. Floral print dresses. Southwest-​inspired prints and pastel colours. Pattterned silk shirts for men and women. Quilted jackets. It’s all impeccably styled, clean. White walls and display cases — it’s more of a museum than a store, as if it were the costume room for any bad teen show you could think of (Saved by the Bell, Beverly Hills 90 210). In fact, inside one display case recessed in the floor was an outfit I swear they could have torn off Jesse «I’m So Excited» Spano’s back.
Visiting F as in Frank, I think I know now how the Baby Boomers must have felt when they saw us as teens going around in 60s tie-​dye and granny glasses and buying Beatles albums. Because I’m looking at this 80s stuff now and cringing at the awfulness of it all. I wore that crap before it was ironic. Now it’s in this weirdly pristine store, like it was teleported here or kept in a time capsule or maybe even delivered by DeLorean.
It’s just a little too perfect.

What does australia have to do with vintage clothing, let alone Unilocal?
Ill tell you. I dropped in on this place just after it opened on a epic vintage fuelled shopping trip that stretched from Coquitlam to Van. The only thing I could recall about that first visit was that it was full of stunning Australian accented clerks.
The owners had just opened up their second location (the other being in whistler) and were excited to be part of our community.
I’ve been there many times since and have found some great finds, my wife’s closet on the other hand is a shrine to this place. Like any thrift/​consignment/​vintage shop frequency is the key. Shop often and you’ll be there when the goods role in.
Also worth a mention is the reworked items. Not sure who they have putting this stuff out but theres a good mix. If your feeling especially creative you can also «create» your own re-​worked garment; although I’m not sure of the charge involved. Maybe some friendly Aussie could help you out :)

I always walk into F as in Frank with an optimistic heart and an open mind, but alas, for all of its pretty eye candy, there is little here of substance.
I love the look of a lot of their re-​worked vintage clothes, but whenever I try them on the fit is abysmal. :(That said, there are a few neat finds to be had, but the vintage is definitely of the «neon Raybans and ironic Saved by the Bell references» ilk rather than the slightly older stuff that I, being slightly older, prefer.
This past winter, I did manage to find an absolute score on a pair of brown leather boots, knee high and very simple, for under 60 bucks!
I recommend popping in, but as just one stop on a Main St shopping trip, rather than a destination of its own.
