Just an update.
Since I switched my cleaning to Fletchers I have been much happier.
I now bring my suits even my blankets and bed sheets to Fletchers. They really do a great job and have fast friendly services from all the staff. Had a quick tour of the operation and I was surprised at how big it really is and how many people actually work there.
Had a surprise when I was standing next to Henrik Sedin from the Vancouver Canucks while he was picking up some cleaning there.
I highly recommend Fletchers!

I usually come here if I have something I love that I’m afraid of ruining. They’re very pricey but they have saved pieces of clothing before that I was afraid was beyond repair. I took a beige cashmere sweater here once that I accidentally spilled shoe polish on. They fixed it which was amazing, but I definitely paid for it (close to $ 30 bucks). I guess there’s a price to being clumsy, hah!
I wouldn’t use them for everyday dry cleaning unless I want to be taken to the cleaners (yes, I know I’m the queen of puns), but every once in a while for pieces that I’m scared of losing I’ll definitely fork up the extra cash.

I’ve used Fletchers off and on over the past 10 years. It’s always been convenient but pricey so some times I’ve sent my dry-​cleaning elsewhere.
This past Fall I went to wear a silk shirt I hadn’t worn in several months to discover a stain on the front and what looked like a spilled drink on the back (leftovers from a 40^th B-​Day celebration no doubt).
They spent weeks working to get the stains out — mostly the back which created quite a problem. During the stain removal process (successfully!) they discolored the robin blue silk a bit at the bottom. They creatively took some inside material from the shirt to cover the discolored silk in a similar pattern repeated on the front of the shirt.
Hands down best customer service I’ve ever experienced in Vancouver. It was not a cheap fix but incredibly affordable given the effort they expended to resolve the problem.
I will be a loyal customer moving forward.

Fletcher’s used to be my go-​to for my non-​washables, but no more. My mohair blend coat ($ 1k) came back stiff, and wizened, like a Yoda coat. Plus they pressed the lining differently with longitudinal creases throughout. Sorry — No more. Extremely pricey. Crappy attitude on the part of the staff. I know my textiles, folks. Staff blamed the coat. Doesn’t stick. My coat was fried.
Done with Fletcher’s.

I used to think Fletcher’s was great, minus the fact that they’re not open on Sundays. But this last time I went I made it clear I needed everything done before I left for holidays and they insisted it would be no problem. I had a minor repair that I needed done on my jacket in addition to dry cleaning and I got billed for it, but they didn’t actually fix it. And when I noticed it was Sunday, they’re not open, they don’t have voicemail, or an e-​mail address to reach someone at. I better get my money back when I get back.

I’m revising my review. I accept that they are incredibly expensive, beyond any amount I ever imagined paying for dry cleaning. But I don’t accept their hyper-​sensitivity to anything unusual, requiring me to sign off on their ruining my clothes. Today I brought two pairs of pants in for dry cleaning for the first time. Each pair of pants had been almost $ 500. They were exceptionally well made and expensive. Right away, they started to pick over the pants to see what issues they could find. They found one. There is a faux leather strip down the side of one pair of pants. Out came the expert to tell me I had to accept the risk that she would ruin my pants. No recourse. Well, I don’t accept that. I don’t think believe that pants made in Italy costing $ 500 would be ruined by being dry cleaned when their label says they should be dry cleaned. Now maybe they would argue that if I went elsewhere the dry cleaner wouldn’t bother to warn me and would still ruin my pants. I don’t agree. I’ve gone to the dry cleaner at 4^th and Balsam and have never had any problems. I think this is part of Fletcher’s «schtick» — they want to pretend they are the experts and we’re all idiots. I am taking my pants to London without having them dry cleaned. I will take them to my 4^th Avenue dry cleaner after Xmas. If they survive, you won’t hear further.

For a company that charges premium prices for dry cleaning, I am not impressed.
One would expect that a business which caters to working professionals to have hours and services which align with those customers needs and schedules.
They do not clean on Saturdays and are not open Sundays, so if you drop off Friday, you won’t see it until the following Monday afternoon.
I have been a customer for several years, however after a bumbled experience with cleaning pillows and generally inconsistent levels of customer service, I’m moving back to Tuesday’s on 4^th, which I had previously used with great success.
Tuesdays are open Saturdays (and they process and clean on this day) as well as Sunday (for drop off and pickups), and they do it cost effectively with a consistent positive customer facing experience. They seem to grasp the whole free market concept.

This used to be the place I would take designer suits and dresses that I really cared about. However, now I have mixed feelings about them. I had a bad experience with their leather cleaners and they handled it very badly. I dont know if its new staff or what, but lately they’ve just seemed disorganized and less attentive to details.

Yes, their prices may be a bit more– but for every higher price I’ve paid, they’ve also gone one extra step to exceed my expectations. I wouldn’t take my clothes anywhere else.

When I recommend a business it means I really believe in the business and am confident that they will do well by the person I recommend them to.
Fletchers completely botched a friend’s cleaning job on an expensive garment and then behaved in a deceptive manner to deny responsibility. This business practice is completely inexcusable and unacceptable and reflects poorly on me for my recommendation.
Fletchers will not receive any more business from me.

These rave reviews must be from a long time ago.
It is true that the service and cleaning results used to be great.
Now they tell you to your face — and only if you demand to know what happened to the nice decorations on your new outfit you gave them to dryclean — that you have given it to them to clean at your own risk, and they are not responsible. Arrogance and rudeness is the behaviour of the day.
They have increased the prices beyond reason.
And how good the repairs are depends on who is doing them.
But then again, not many businesses really care any more, and manners and good service have become old fashioned. So now the only difference between Fletcher’s and other drycleaners is that Fletchers is twice as expensive and — they still know more about fabrics. If you are willing to pay the price, as a rule, you can bet your woolens will come out the same size as you brought them in.

This is my go-​to dry cleaner for clothes that I don’t want to risk ruining.
They are enormously detail oriented and will repair any minor damage they find on your clothes. For the environmentally conscious, they use hydrocarbons to dry clean clothes instead of the carcinogenic perc (aka perchloroethylene or tetrachloroethylene).
My clothes always come back looking like new and without any chemical smell.
Yes, they are pricey, but really, isn’t your favourite [insert article of clothing here] worth it?

Yes it’s a bit pricey, but if you really value your clothes and want them to last, Fletchers is the place to go. I’ve never had any issues with them — dry cleaning, shirt laundry, alterations, repairs… they do it all, and they do it all top-​notch. I really wish they had pickup/​delivery service, but they’re so good that even that can’t knock the 5^th star off my review.

I lived in Kits for close to 20 years and used Fletcher’s the entire time. The past 5+ years or so I really put them to the test and dropped off an average of 5 shirts a week, as well as regular dry cleaning every week. These guys were always top notch, no complaints. Everything done right, on time and as promised.
Two gliches that I recall, and both were resolved professionally. One, they misplaced a shower curtain that was recovered either the same day, or within a few days. Anyone can make a mistake.
The other was more serious. They called to ask if one of the shirts I dropped off had anything spilled on the collar, causing a discoloration. I didn’t recall seeing that, so next time in I checked it out. It was really obvious, and basically the shirt was ruined. It was a pretty new shirt and most of all, it was $ 300 Canali. Although they couldn’t figure out what was spilled on it, and how it happened, but they pulled out the cheque book and reimbursed me for the full price, along with sincere apologies.
To me, this is the mark of a truly professional business. I don’t say Fletchers is inexpensive to use, but if you value your clothing, you won’t make a mistake taking them here.

It is a great business. I have been a customer there for several years. They know most of their patrons by name. That is impessive.
Great place to dry clean your expensive clothes, they take care and it will not be ruined. However their prices are above average.

This place is a great dry cleaner! I’ve been to the cheap ones in the past and they haven’t been so great and I have walked out of those frustrated. But I took my dress to Fletchers after a night out on the town, and they cleaned it and looked like it was new. They even repaired it by resewing some of the threads that had come off and made things fall apart. However, this dry cleaning job did cost me $ 30. But I think I will come back because I couldn’t get over how nice my dress turned out.
Oh, they also gave out free Rogers’ chocolate for Christmas to all clients!

Fletchers in the past has been absolutely excellent, even for the prices. If you had a wardrobe garment this is where it needed to go. No shrinkage, chemicals used were hypoallergenic and didn’t smell, and fairly quick service. They even used to check all buttons and resew if needed.
Lately they’ve been real mediocre and charging the same high prices. Their service quality has gone down, and all the things you expect with average dry cleaners using harsh cleaning fluid is what Fletchers has turned into. Some people just pay for the name, I won’t go here any longer after they have hurt some of my nicer pieces of clothing. Too Bad

This place is a rip-​off. I’ve never paid so much just to have a few shirts drycleaned. Their drive thru didn’t appear open and waiting in line was annoying.

How can you not LOVE drive-​in dry-​cleaning? I mean seriously…
I lived right beside this Arbutus institution and even if I didn’t have dry-​cleaning that day, I went and put something into dry-​cleaning just so I could go here. It is not inexpensive, but you will never get your clothes ruined or shrunk or anything else odd that might happen if you take it to another dry-​cleaner. For wedding dress recovery and preservation to extra-​special care for those 1000 thread-​count cotton sheets you have… go no further than Fletchers.

This is brilliant… drive through dry cleaner! you are in a hurray. late for a dinner party. need to pick up your out fit for the night at the dry cleaners… ummmm…just drive on though and. boom done! You can also get just plain old laundering if you are lazy like me and don’t want to do it yourself. Also, they apparently are known for being able to take care of those hard to launder items… such are the wedding dress you will never wear again but still clean every now and then… and the ass less chaps you thought would be fun to wear to gay pride… but not so much…
Prices are reasonable and service is excellent! Just drive on through. drop and you’re on your way!
