Tried the closest thing to stirfry bbq in the area. And it happened to be the great han. Cheap $ 9.99 dinner, but upon arriving you kind of understand why that is. The bowls used to select your food are small and get filled quickly with the frozen meat. Rather small selection of foods, and im not sure the sauce transfers all to well after the cooking process. My food tasted like oiled meats and vegetables. Soup was pretty gross, and the salad bar was interesting to say the least. Not impressive, but not expensive by any means either. Im going to avoid this place for the future, but i didnt necessarily leave unhappy. 3⁄5.

This is the crappiest of all the Mongollie BBQ joints around town. It’s also the cheapest($ 10 for one bowl). The produce is low quality and the sauces are an absolute joke — everything is watered down /diluted, or is mostly oil. Friendly enough, hands-off service, but that doesn’t save the food experience. Avoid like the plague.

This place was pretty good. For $ 8.99(lunch special) you get a bowl of fresh stir fry, a small bowl of rice, another bowl of soup and a plate of salad. There’s lots of meats and veggies to choose from as well as sauce combinations to experiment with. I went with their«house special» combination which was a little salty for me but then again I didn’t do a good job of piling on my ingredients. Service was polite. Place was clean and spacious. Would go back.

This is my goto lunch spot. The prices are incredible and I always leave over stuffed. They have a good selection of items to put in your stir fry and it always comes out really quickly. Staff are really friendly.

Average place to eat… good price though… i went to a nearby stablishment and when im passing by the place i saw 3 pregnant camein… i told my self oh what a lucky day i seldom see pregnant woman lately and now i saw three at thesame time… for curiosity too i went in and tried what this place can offer, you select your food using a bowl theres meat and veggies, rice or noodles it all depends on what combination you want. then they will cook it right infront your eyes. the secret is with the last choice the magic sauce, but theres like 10 of them, you need to know which is which or otherwise i dont know what your food combo gonna taste like… luckily mine wasnt bad… not a bad place to eat…

Even though Mongolian BBQ has been pretty played out in this city, it’s still a decent value if you want to stuff your face with meat and noodles. Parking is available on the side streets. The inside here is a bit beaten up, but you’re not here for the ambience. Staff are friendly. The secret to rationing the food is to remember that the food shrinks in half when it is cooked. So to get a nice full bowl of food, bring 2 heaping bowls of food to the chef. And I mean this literally. You will be surprised at the shrinkage. The sauce part is a bit of a head scratcher — to make a combo, you’re looking at as many as 10 or so different ones. I personally couldn’t be bothered — just go with whatever smells good. With most of them, one can’t really go wrong. The food quality is honestly mediocre — this is really just glorified food court food, but freshly cooked. It’s all about the quantity, not quality. With that said, the food here is so heavy that one would definitely leave full.

I’ve been eating at Great Han since I have lived in Vancouver and haven’t had a bad meal yet. I love choosing what I want and the options available. Cheap, quick and always reliable.

Is the older lady the owner? You would think she would want to be a little friendlier to her customers. Some of the grill masters are pleasant at least. The lunch option is such good value. $ 6.99 for a soup, salad, rice, and 1 bowl. The bowl itself is already well worth the price. Although they claim you get a soup with it, I seldom have. I’ve received it perhaps twice out of coming here 10+ times. Nevertheless, even without it, lunch is a great value. The soup isn’t that good anyway(just a really potent tomato/vegetable soup) It never occurred to me how important the plastic barriers that protects the food from customer’s germs are. I say this after visiting a mongolian grill on denman which had no such barriers. So don’t take those for granted next time! There’s a good selection of sauces to choose from. There is also a sheet that offers different sauce combinations. I use this more as a guide. Don’t be afraid to be generous with your sauces. You’ll need a little extra than what you think it enough but don’t go overboard either. I just wish that the sauces weren’t so oily or thin, it’s more so the oil that worries me. The meat is your standard frozen shaved meats that you get at these type of mongolian grills. If you want the thick marinated thicker pieces of meat you’ll have to go to places that charge by weight. The way I like to make my bowl is add the meat first, add the sauces, add the vegetables(poke some in the holes that the meat slices create), push down on the veggies to squish down the meat, add noodles and spinach on top. I love that you have full freedom to make your bowl however you like. The food tastes great and the price is definitely right. For $ 6.99 you can afford to go try it and risk not liking it. But I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. If not, you’re probably the one to blame since you control your final product: P

Definitely one of the first times I’ve tried an AYCE mongolian place. All in all it wasn’t bad. Definitely keep in mind with the price being paid you can’t expect some candle light ambiance and beautiful upholstery. Service was pretty good given how busy it was and food quality was sufficient for price paid. The freebie rice, chips and spring rolls definitely I would suggest skipping to a certain degree since was not very good at all. The cooked ingredients for the grill though were good.

What can I say that hasn’t been said a thousand times. Been going here ten years. Fantastic hole in the wall. Stuffed full of GOODNESS!

This is a sweet little hole in the wall that you don’t come to for ambiance. You come to fill up on good food. Lots of fresh veggies(mushrooms, baby spinach, baby corn, bean sprouts, peppers, zucchini, broccoli, etc) and the usual beef, lamb, pork and chicken. Really like that they have tofu as a selection. They have both thick and thin noodles. They have a sauce recipe list and I have tried them all… very creative and really good flavours. Included in your meal is soup, shrimp chips, salad bar, rice and spring roll. Its nice that once your food is grilled you do not have to go get it yourself, they bring it to you. For the AYCE price of 11.95 this place cant be beat. I have paid up to $ 17.95 at other places and haven’t enjoyed them as much. I have been going for years and will keep going back!

Mongolian BBQ is the BADDEST! A friend showed me this gem a few months ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. There is a fine art to loading up your bowl before it gets cooked! My advice to you? Load in your veggies first and crunch them into the bottom of the bowl. Make a little meat well. Throw the meat in. Cover with noodles and sauce. VOILA… the perfect Mongolian BBQ Bowl… with minimal mess and reduced meat chips on the floor. It’s not the greatest, and not the worst. Weird décor, generally dead most of the time, but the price is right and the food tastes good!

I used to live down the street and this was one of my local establishments. Does it look like a dive… yes…do I question how sanitary it is sometimes… perhaps. But… Awesome Deal, Awesome Food, relatively healthy, cheap beer($ 3 zui zhang — or however you spell it. Delicious). All you can eat is cheap and if you want a meal to go it is even cheaper. Love this place! I wish more people would see what I see so they could make ebough money to renovate a bit.

In spite of the low ratings of this place I still went to this establishment as it was one of the restaurants on Main street that I needed to be check off my bucket list. In fact after reading the Unilocal reviews before hand I was expecting the worst including watered down sauces, frozen meats and veggies that needed to be fired up and cheap carbs to accompany it. So why you ask did I come here? First with all the holiday parties and dinners that have occurred this week I needed a healthier option in which I was in control of what was on my plate. Knowing exactly what ingredients and their points value(Weight Watchers) was a blessing. I didn’t care if it was fresh or frozen as long as I could ID the ingredients. I am also not that picky considering that I have been to a lot of questionable restaurants with unfamiliar ingredients I cannot pronounce in the past year. I have the stomach of steel sometimes. Second reason is that my date for the evening, a former co-worker needed to be somewhere for a gig by 8pm, therefore, this was the perfect quick all you can eat place. Thirdly it is cheap all you can eat. After all the holiday parties, craft fairs, increased hydro bill ’cause of the bill etc. Eating out cheap and spending some holiday time with someone you admire, appreciate and like is a plus. You get what you pay for. This is what I consider a whole in the wall place and I questioned the sanitary conditions, however, I’ve eaten in worst dives in the city and survived. It’s a hole in the wall that is an awesome experience. I also appreciate the whole DIY putting your own meal together part.

I’ve been here about three times before, and the food is cooked hot but not to the point it would burn your mouth. They have a decent selection of noodles, and a good selection of vegetables. I would suggest that if you like a lot of meat in your Mongolian noodles then I would suggest packing it in since most of the meat is rolled up from being frozen and causing it to be like chips where it’s mostly air. The good thing is that this place is all you can eat. No charging by the weight. What I didn’t like. I drove 20 minutes to come eat at here because their sign says that they open till 10pm. I honestly had not eaten all day and was already quite grumpy. The rain was pouring down really hard, and there isn’t any free parking in the back or on the street in front of the store. I arrived at 9pm and they told me that they had closed. I understand businesses need to watch out for their labour, but closing an hour beforehand is absolutely ridiculous. Lesson for people checking out this place, don’t bother to go during the last hour that they supposedly are still opened, you’ll be wasting your time. You can imagine how upset I was. If a business doesn’t want to open to the times they post, then I honestly think they shouldn’t, or have the courtesy to at least say that we are closing early today. I don’t like it when restaurants forget what it’s like to be a customer. Would I go back? Not a chance. Once a business loses my trust, they better find a way to earn it. And I doubt that this restaurant will take the time and courtesy to respond to this review. I’d only go back if someone really really wanted me to. But I won’t be the one to suggest this place.

We were back again for a quick, hot and cheap meal. I love being able to arrive, pick what I want to eat and get my food served hot within 10 mins. Service is fast, friendly and efficient. Boy is that Mongolian grill awesome and the person cooking the food is pretty swell as well. Thanks for satisfying my hunger quicker than anyone I know. It’s fast food the healthy way!

We should have known better. When we walked in the door, the only customers were dreadlocks and ex-cons. We should have immediately turned around and walked out. I would have been so much happier with a 7 – 11 hotdog. You wonder how you could go wrong in a place where you essentially make your own meal. Select your veg, meat, noodles… in fact have as much as you want. It’s ALLYOUCANEAT!!! I’m sure Great Han had a brilliant idea when they first opened. They would be offer a good meal on Main at a competitive price and serve some sweet Mongolian BBQ. People would love that. I’m sure they did… Then the college boys and occupiers found this place and it all went to shit. Trying to keep up with the ravenous appetites of young men and college dares, GH began watering down their sauces to the point where it would be inedible for almost anyone. Except college boys. As long as there’s lots to eat, it was going to be delicious. We were originally planning on going to House of Dosas, but there was a lineup to see how long the lineup was. In our desperate attempt to get something decent in a timely manner, we skipped over to Great Han and sadly slumped out with a belly full of brown. I asked my wife as we were driving away if she would like to stop in an alley to purge so we could have a do-over. We were both tempted.

I’m not a big fan of mongolian BBQ, but Ainsley forced me! Really, he did. All you can eat? Pretty good price. I had one bowl and was full. Then I had another bowl of mostly meat. Ainsley had 1 just meat bowl. I think we rolled out of there. Paired with the cheap $ 3 beer, it was a-ok. Food: pork, chicken, beef and lamb. No tofu option. I like a little tofu in my meat and veggies. I feel sad if the vegetarians came here and had no protein. Don’t go here, vegetarians. Salad? That means shredded lettuce and sad looking vegetables with mystery dressing. Soup? Didn’t even bother. I would have liked a better selection of veggies and sauces that didn’t look watered down, but alas, I cannot have everything I want. Oh, did I mention $ 3 beers, mmmm.
