Little Sister’s Book & Art Emporium

My boyfriend and I went to Little Sister’s quite some time ago for the first time, and I have been meaning to write a review ever since. We were interested in some new items we hadn’t tried before and Janine was incredibly helpful. She made us feel very comfortable and made some great reccomendations. The store itself was clean, and had a wide variety of products. It is our go to place for all our adult needs.

The owners are lovely, the book selection and knick knacks are very cool, and its awesome to see they are trying to broaden their representation within the lgbtqia community (not just L and G). I was delighted to see trans, bi, asexual, pansexual and genderqueer items !

This store certainly has become book oriented than when I was first introduced in 2007 — which isn’t saying you won’t find the right toy for you but that they’re not just a toy store anymore. After all buying these kind of «toys» mean taking a chance since one never really know what one gets until one got. :)

This place is great and even has a trans masculine section. I give it a 4 start rating because the prices in this section are just RIDICULOUS! I’ve been part of the trans community for years and can tell you the prices of everything related to transition. Don’t get me wrong, I think its awesome that they are selling binders (to hard your chest) and packers (to put in your pants so there is a bulge), but charging over $ 60 for a binder is just insane! They get the binders from this site here:
and as you can see, the binders are usually under $ 30! I understand this company is american and so on, but to charge twice as much! This is just horrible! Plus, you have to think about the trans community, many of us don’t have that kind of money.
Other that than, they do have a couple packers, which is great and they are from the New York Toy Collective. These packers are usually quite expensive, but once again, this place charges more. I would recommend they look into the mr. limpy, its the cheapest ($ 12 – 16) and most popular packer!
If I look at the shop itself, they have great products available like books, magazines, porn, stickers and sex toys. I think the book section is great to have, but I’ve seen lots of sex shops in my days and for this being such a famous place, I expected some more sex toys than available.
Don’t get me wrong, this place is great and I would go again. I’m excited to go back eventually and see that trans section grow.
One last point that made me happy: They didn’t just have rainbow pride flags, they had the Bisexual flag and transgender pride flag!!!

One of the best «Adult» stores in Vancouver, especially since Priape closed down.
Located along Davie in the west end of Vancouver, it’s really easy to get too and isn’t awkward feeling like some adult stores.
They have a good selection of toys as well as LGBTQ themed jewelry and novelty things like Cub/​Bear cups and rainbow flags, they have books and some kink gear as well.

I think my siblings thought I was being cocky (no pun intended) when I told them I was at the porn store Christmas Eve Morning. Hey, they called and asked where I was!

This place is clean, well taken care of, and well presented!
Granted the staff have probably seen everyone in the West End, nothing really surprises or shocks them. This may very well be one of few Adult bookstores with an impressive History! All the more reason to love them!

I go here whenever I’m in Vancouver and got my hubby hooked on them too! I wish they had less used books and more newer books is my only complaint. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I bought all my Tales of the City books here!

I come here every Pride to get some goodies for my friends. The staff are friendly and helpful and a very welcoming place to buy books, toys and supplies of both genders and different sexual orientation. Whether straight, bi, gay etc. This is a safe shopping environment where everyone is welcome and supported. Prices are awesome. It’s the Toys R’ Us for adults. I came in for one item for a girls night out party and ended up staying in the store for an extra hour.

The one, the only, the original adult store.
This is the one that stood up for all of our rights to read about, write about, engage in the trade of all things of a sensual, erotic, or sexual nature. They lobbied so that people can express themselves and be who they want to be, in and out of the bedroom. These are the people that fought the government’s outdated censorship laws.
The end result? Freedoms you probably didn’t realize you had (or at various points in our legal history, freedoms you didn’t have). What are we left with? A very nice store with a huge selection of everything including the most comprehensive selection of reading materials you could ever imagine geared to almost any audience regardless of your identity, or orientation.
Go in and check out the store. Be thankful there are places like this around and that there are people that are willing to fight to ensure that places like this exist.

Great selection of books and toys, staff are friendly and helpful. They also have a good selection of underwear and t’s. Probably my favourite is the selection of cards they carry, you can get everything from the risk-​a birthday cards to sympathy cards that pull your heart strings.

They didn’t have the one particular vibe I was looking for!!! *tear*
I was quite surprised as this store boasts a large variety of vibes and other products!
Other than that, there are many different things to browse, and the prices are quite good. It is bright, clean, and open… not dingy like some other sex shops *cough Granville St. cough.*
I will be back to look when I have more time.

lewd phallus shaped goods, unless I asked, which I liked. :)

You know the kind of store that just makes you happy to walk into? Well this is that sort of store… if you like Sex or intimacy in any way shape or form that is.
There is definitely something for everyone in here, from slightly blushworthy reading to serious strap-​ons. I would think this could be a great store for someone looking to get into the ‘adult’ realm of things but maybe doesn’t know where to start. Unlike a lot of the dingy sex stores on Granville you don’t feel ‘dirty’ upon entering this one. If you’re comfortable with the whole idea, you’ll be happy to know that the staff is super helpful and friendly and happy to get into a rapport about all things product related. This is a great spot for Pride wear, little silly gfts (think dirty fridge magnets) and old school risqué authors. I love that I can find a selection of Ann Bannon novels beside a rack of cute undies! This is also a common spot to pick up tickets to alternative events which is a great excuse to stop by.
As far as personality goes, ‘Little Sister’s’ is my fave :)

Its like FAO Schwarz for adults. Seriously. Toys Galore. At the risk of sharing too much information, I shop here… a lot! There are a lot of «sex shops» on Davie St but this is ALWAYS my first choice.
You could easily spend an hour browsing books, toys, cards, magnets, lube, underwear, and t-​shirts.
Also: Super friendly, genuine staff. Your questions will be answered honestly, without judgment.

I have to say that Little Sisters tops my list as the place to go when I need anything gay or sexy. They have a fabulous selection of vibrators, dildos, lubes, books on everything from lesbian erotica through to first time anal. They have a great selection of toys ranging from soft playful things through to some more medical and classy glass pieces.
They also have a really good library of books, fun card selection and all sorts of other things.
The staff are super friendly and helpful and around pride and throughout the year they have tickets to all sorts of gay and lesbian events around the city.

Where can you get sex toys, birthday cards, comic books, rainbow magnets, an «I can’t even think straight» t-​shirt and a well-​researched treatise on the evolution of masculinity and homosexuality in Papua New Guinea in the mid– to late– 20^th Century?

During my first-​ever trip to Vancouver, this was on my «Must see» list. I was not disappointed. So much selection! And such a sense of community.
When I eventually moved to Vancouver, this was my go-​to place on lazy Sunday afternoons. I’d wander the stacks and grab a book or two. It’s also a community hub; tons of event postings which helped connect me to the queer community.
Little Sister’s is easily one of the things I miss most about living in Vancouver.

After looking all over for a discontinued sex toy, i was thrilled to find it here! I also found my favorite lube in a large value size with a pump for only a few dollar’s more then what i was paying for one half the size.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
