Historique

Fondé en 2002.

Vancouver native & Founder of Out of Chaos, Linda Chu, started this organizing & productivity business after a successful 20 year career in Hotel & Restaurant Management.

During her years in the hospitality industry, the onset of downsizing created the need to streamline how people work.

Out of Chaos was created in answer to the need of individuals trying to manage busy households and demanding jobs, trying to capture that elusive work-life balance. As well, the never-ending challenge of managing volumes of information and possessions cluttering work & home spaces.

In addition to providing personal organizing services in homes, home-offices & business, workshops & seminars on time management are available.

Founder Linda Chu is a member of Professional Organizers in Canada, has served on the National Board in the capacities of President & Directors of Marketing & Development. She is also the Founder of the BC Lower Mainland Chapter of the same association.

We have known and worked with Linda for many years. We are truly blessed to have known her. She helped us during the years with great mentorship. She has been a great referral partner to us. We have dealt with many of her clients that she have sent us. Her clients are all super high quality. Plus all her clients are raving fans of her work.

Our family engaged Linda after the initial consultation meeting, when she blew away any other competition we had also vetted, with her depth of knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and clearly strong leadership skills that she continued to exude in spades throughout the «project».
This «project» was near and dear to us, which was sorting and clearing out our family home that had been piled up with decades of memories and belongings. Linda’s incredible skill in immediately sizing up the plan, managing a large team that she was able to quickly assemble to tackle this complex challenge was very impressive. Each day, we were able to see great progress, all due to her strong leadership and organizational skills in being able to direct and motivate every person on her team to operate at their highest level of efficiency and effectiveness. Watching her work was like taking a master class in leadership and project management skills.
She listened to us, and not only ensured that our guidelines were adhered to, but also went above and beyond to keep our best interests at heart with her vast knowledge of what items to best keep or not, and her strong network of connections — there doesn’t seem to be any service or organization that she doesn’t already have at her fingertips!
Linda and her team were such a pleasure to work with, and they literally and figuratively did all the heavy lifting to accomplish what felt like a Herculean task in a record period of time. I am extremely organized but was overwhelmed in a major life transition about how to move forward. Linda came in, sat on my floor, took my laptop in hand, and asked me to tell her the story of each piece of paper I was immersed in. Four hours later, I had a neat basket of properly sorted «active» files and, more importantly, a fantastic «to do» spreadsheet which has allowed me to move forward quite dramatically in the days since. I have felt clear, excited, and energized about my life and business again. I know exactly what my priorities are and how to honour them.
The service was expensive, but worth it! Linda is warm, comfortable, relaxed, non-judgmental, and easygoing– yet very focused, efficient, and fast. She is knowledgeable and skilled. She can «hear» a person’s presentation of needs and blocks quickly and accurately –she is clearly experienced with how overwhelmed people are feeling and thinking. I loved having my blocks understood and Linda having ready strategies for those. She is also referring me to tradespeople to whom I can delegate some of my tasks.
The irony of this is that, again, I am *very* organized and have even developed similar systems for moving forward. But Linda’s system introduced a couple of tweaks that made all the difference for me. And, frankly, having paid her I feel that much more motivated to follow through on the system I paid to have developed!

Linda and her team at Out of Chaos are consummate pro’s. I first became aware of Out of Chaos after hearing friends rave about a workshop Linda had presented at a large corporate event.
It is obvious that Linda not only loves her work, but is highly skilled at what she does. I initially hired Linda when I was consolidating 2 households into 1 and she set up smart organizational systems that ended up saving me time/energy and that also looked beautiful, for the entire length of my stay in that home. Linda also taught me how to maintain those systems, and how to set up others like them, as needed. Linda understands the psychology of clutter and so I felt like I got double the value — both in terms of her practical services and for her help in leading me to understand why I was holding onto stuff that I no longer needed and how to avoid those unhealthy tendencies in the future. Linda provides significant value to clients. She understands that her client has high standards and expects expert and expedient results, while still being cost conscious.
I have referred Out of Chaos to many friends who have been equally thrilled with the longterm results. One of these was my elderly mother. Linda and her team worked effectively and compassionately with her and managed to get a huge and complex house job done in record time.
I would HIGHLY recommend Linda to a variety of different clients — from corporate professionals who want/need existing work spaces and systems overhauled, to blended families combining households, to the families of aging parents when the time comes for the major move and downsize from the family home to residential or hospital care.

Recently hired Out of Chaos to help de-clutter my kitchen. Now, everyday I enjoy working in my kitchen and have space to do larger cooking projects and I can find all my kitchen gadgets. I have more room in cupboards and it is easier to keep clean. I could not have cleaned it up so thoroughly or organized it so well on my own. Great investment.
