Days are getting cooler, however, this means that the frozen treats are managing in the weather. Lots of selection and generous if you want to sample. I leaned more toward the fruit and citrus based selections. Great prices and reasonable service. The following flavors(double scoop) is what entertained my pallet: Lemon and Blood orange.

Not just any ordinary gelato place: being across from Kits beach, it’s not just for convenience sake but solid and yummy. Ventured out of my comfort zone of chocolate, asked for their signature, and said, what the heck, bubble gum?! No wonder the bin was almost empty. The rest looked fresh too. Located right beside Kits Sushi. A few tables inside as well as a 3-chair patio lol. Friendly service, sampling encouraged.

Best gelato in Vancouver! They make all of their flavors in the store with fresh ingredients. Sample a few before you make your decision because they’re all delicious! Very generous servings so skip the $ 5 donuts up the street and go get some of the best gelato in town.

Service was very friendly, hazelnut gelato was pretty good. Guy scooping the ice cream couldn’t do it to save his life — after like two minutes, I had ice cream all over my hand. Other then that though — everything else was pretty good.

I was just in Italy with my fiancé in May and had the best gelato ever. And I must say that Paradiso Gelato comes close to the gelato I had in Italy. You can taste the freshness of the fruits. The owners are super sweet people too! I will definitely return when I visit Vancouver again ;)

I was walking down by the beach when I came upon this gelato place. I ended up getting the banana chocolate gelato and the passion fruit gelato. My friend got the chai gelato. All of these flavours were out of this world and the staff were very nice and helpful. They let us try 4 flavours each, which shows how they wanted to make sure we got the perfect flavour. Some gelato places in Vancouver I find are over priced, but this one here is great and a normal price for gelato. Defiantly coming here again when I’m in the area.

This place is a gem. A mom n pop, light on décor but more than makes it up in quality. My son is lactose intolerant and we were seeking a place that offered sorbet. Most places have 1 or 2 flavored but this place had 12! They are all hand-made, rich flavors and a thick consistency that rivals the texture and smoothness of ice cream! I had the pomegranate on a waffle cone and my son had banana chocolate SORBET! Who ever heard of a chocolate sorbet? Amazing shop, we’ll be back. Next time I’ll try their gelato.

Ive stopped in a few times over the years for Gelato on my way to the beach. I think it has changed hands recently and they have started serving banh mi and phở. Im yet to have the phở but the banh mi is fricking amazing! Full of salad and nice and cheap! They also have lots of dairy free sorbet and heaps of normal gelato and the new owners are super sweet. Give it a go!

A quick cool off close to kits beach. I was a little surprised by the past reviews. They seem to be older reviews so maybe things have changed or we visited on a good day? We walked across the street after dinner at Local for a quick dessert. It’s a small place with a little seating. Our daughter is a huge fan of the polar bear in the window that’s holding a huge ice cream cone. There was a bit of a line, but it went quickly. Service was extremely friendly and they offered samples. There were so many flavors that it was hard to narrow it down. There was everything from passion fruit to ferrero rocher. Our daughter went for a kids waffle cone with coffee crisp and my husband went for a scoop of coconut that we shared. I sampled both and found them to be smooth and flavorful. Minimum $ 5 charge for credit/debit.

I am a local of Kits and have been walking past this place for years. It caught my attention one day by a couple who was raving about how special their cone was. I just had to give it a try, but to go see a character by «Tortoise» they said. As I step inside this small and quite warm shop, i saw this character putting on a show for a family with 2 kids. Needless to say, they all left with a smile on their face. Once my turn, i ask the fellow if he was indeed ‘Tortoise”? From there, he started to ask me fruity or chocolate, then if i had any allergies. Thats when he bursts into creative mode and made me one of his«special» creations while glancing up at me every few seconds. As I was about to pay, he told me to try it first and let the flavour and texture soak in and to forget about everything else in the moment. My tastebuds were completely delighted and surprised with his mixture. As i was telling him that i would try the fruity next time, he assured me that he already knew what he’ll throw at my tastebuds next time. On my way out, there was a crowd of customers calling out Tortoise, and now I know what they are there for.

A tiny scoop of half-melted, bland-flavoured gelato for $ 4? Never again. Also, a «minimum charge» of $ 5 to use a credit card.

We didn’t even get to the ice cream because there was an amazingly noxcious smell of dead animal or better yet smelled like tons of dead animals(It was that bad!!!)we couldn’t believe that the owner is making his or her employees work under this condition let alone the customer who has come in to eat something yummy and ends up running out on the verge of vomiting! ruined the night for us! I am calling the health dept.

It’s hard to believe that this place has not been reviewed yet, but I guess not, considering the gelato is so nondescript and, well, bland. We walked in on what should have been a busy weekday, judging by the surrounding businesses, but we also should have known that something was up since the place was empty. We were served by an adorable teenage boy, who I assume must be the son of the proprietor. His seemingly older sister was making the gelato behind him. He happily let us sample a few flavours and in truth, there were very few flavours to sample. Since I had just returned from an ice cream mecca in NY, I felt like I was being served ice cream in a communist country where sugar was scarce and flavour was non-existant. I would have given our actual server four stars, in spite of the sizes of the expensive ice cream. Each one was as tasteless as the next. We finally settled on the peanut butter, which we couldn’t even see in the bin.(It was almost empty). That one was the least of all evils, so $ 9 and two itsy-bitsy tiny scoops covered with a few crystallized pieces of ice later, we were on our way. This place would have earned only one star, but for the boy working there.(Not in a creepy way, but I respect any student trying to make a living in the summer. Furthermore, anyone who can stretch an empty bin of ice cream into two scoops deserves at least an extra star.) I actually felt sorry for him and even left a tip. But on a busy street in Kitsilano – on one of our sunniest days of the year – this place should not be empty. The strange thing is that there are really few options for«gelato» in this area of Kits. Nonetheless, I will not return and I only hope that the boy smartens up and takes over for his sister, before her ice-cream making abilities(sadly) «melt» the shop into the ground.
