Paul A. Newitt, DMD

I was recommended to Dr. Newitt by my partner because my previous dental clinic in Olympic Village was inconsiderate of my teeth sensitivities and rendered services not covered by my insurance provider.
My first appointment with Dr. Newitt and his team went smoothly. The hygienist, Netta, was very considerate of my teeth sensitivities and checked in often to see how I was doing. Dr. Newiitt was very quick in examining my teeth and x-​rays. He only made recommendations that were necessary rather than optional/​cosmetic. It’s nice to meet a dentist who’s honest and not trying to solicit unnecessary services to increase their invoices. Finally, Tammy was a pleasure to deal with as she’s extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She insisted that I contact her if I have any issues with my insurance provider because I was worry about my insurance coverage.
I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a new dentist to give Dr. Newitt and his team a visit.

Dr. Newitt and his team are amazing. My last Vancouver dentist experience was nothing short of abysmal. I had a pretty grim outlook on vancouver’s dentistry practices before visiting Dr. Newitt’s office. Tammy is the office’s administrative superwoman and she is incredible. Her great jokes and friendly demeanor instantly put me at ease. Dr. Newitt himself is funny, professional and also has a great sense of humour and is interesting to talk to. It’s really nice to have a group of people that genuinely seem to have an interest in what they do and the well-​being of their clients/​patients.

Dental is important to me. Ever since I was a child, careful tooth brushing and dental care has been a priority, despite being a Brit — where everyone assumes we don’t care about oral hygiene.
A close and trusted friend recommended their dentist of 15 years — Dr Newitt — earlier this year when I didn’t trust my other family dentist in Kitsilano anymore.
Set above Chapters, this little dentist has a middle-​of-​the-​road kinda look and feel, but it’s Dr Newitt’s professionalism, focus and no-​nonsense approach that gets 5-​stars. He doesn’t chitter chatter whilst doing his work (which means he’s focusing our your teeth! read: no errors!). He has his space observatory style magnification system, laser system and goodness knows whatever appropriately named dentistwizardry. I asked for more pain relief (I get nervous) and he obliged. He’s a gentleman.
My husband and I have been many times now for filling replacements, crown fitting/​replacement, hygienist, mouth guard consultation — and each time I was delighted with the service. Dr Newitt will refer you to the best people in their field for larger more specialist jobs (braces, retainers, bone grafts).
Why delighted? Whenever I had fillings elsewhere, there would be errors — they’d mess up and would have to keep going back (read: pay more). So far, Dr Newitt focuses on the job, and gets it done perfectly — first time. And that’s the most important thing to me. And I hope to have a very long dental relationship with his practice, despite the 40 minute drive from Burnaby each time :)
