These guys are the real deal. Friendly, courteous and polite. I have taken my fussy 2007 VW GTI to them numerous times because they do what is necessary, and leave what can wait. They always call to verify the work they’re doing and the price. Fabulous customer service.

These are really good, honest guys. I’ve brought a couple different cars here over the years and have always found them to go above and beyond.

The BEST service I have had in the car service industry in 36 years of driving. Thoroughly professional with a warm and friendly staff. They sure know their stuff, call to confirm and your car is ready early, not later. Car washed and polished inside and out… This place is a rare shop that is worth finding and bringing your car to.

Good service with knowledgeable guys to help with vw problems

My Gf went out of town and wanted her car fixed, so I finally did some research online and found Rudy and Peters. What caught me eye was their est. in 1963 business date and specialty in VW.
My gf previously had brought it to another mechanic who just
Was unable to diagnose or fix her 2001 beetle month after month.
Mechanics like that are leaches.
However, Rudy and Peters are upfront, thorough, fast, and precise at what they do.
I brought in the beetle with an ignition light on, misfiring, hesitation in acceleration and leaking coolant.
They were able to replace the coolant flange, sparks and ignition wire.
They also found some other minor things that could be problems like broken brake light bulbs and nails inthe front tires causing slow leaks. Things we would have never been able to find until we got a ticket or a flat.
Thanks guys for making me look good with my GF. She was really happy to get her beetle running smooth again!

There are a number of good VW repair shops in Vancouver but these guys seem pretty good.
They figured out the cause of my engine light was a faulty fuel filter. I have already spent $ 2k at other shops replacing all sorts of other parts. These guys said it should have been pretty obvious the solution.
They also let me know that there were a few things to keep an eye on but didn’t have to be worked on right away and could be addressed down the line. So the car is working great and they are very friendly and professional. Also very considerate!

I like these guys. They were able to spot some issues that the others missed and got my old Jetta purring like a pussycat again. I liked it that they put my car up on the hoist and brought me over to have a look at some issues they spotted. They explained things in detail and answered my questions with an enthusiasm that was endearing. Who knew that the old type II Jettas had two fuel pumps? One of which wasn’t working and had been causing the stalls that had been occurring intermittently. They let me know that there were a few things to keep an eye on but didn’t have to be worked on right away and could be addressed down the line. So for the first time in a long time I’m cruising around town with a sense of confidence that the old girl is going to get me where I want to go!

These guys are honest, friendly, and very knowledable gentlemen. I’ve brought my audi to Rudy & Peters for an oil change and both times they were excellent. They also did a pretty comprehensive inspection on my vehicle and printed out an easy to understand summary of potential issues at no additional cost. There’s a waiting room with tv, coffee, reading articles, newspapers, bathroom, etc for your convenience. Excellent service, highly recommended.

This place charges $ 65 for an oil change. Picked the place based on Unilocal reviews and after asking around and not finding it a whole lot cheaper elsewhere unless I learned Chinese. Was told that generally you pay at least $ 50 for an oil change. $ 50. Seriously, Vancouver, why do you insist on paying so much for so little and think it’s such high quality. Looking at you Lululemon.
Next time I’m going to go to Mr Youtube and do it myself.

I took my Mazda there complaining of squeaky brakes. They could have told me I needed a complete brake job and I would have gratefully paid them. Instead they told me that there’s still 60% left on all my brake pads and it’s not worth the money to take them apart to see why they are squeaking. They changed my transmission fluid for the same price as the speedy places next door. Excellent, friendly service.

Can’t say enough good things about these guys — They’re a dying breed — An honest, ‘neighbourhood’ auto mechanic.
I recently had my car in for a ‘squeak’ in the suspension and instead of trying to sell me a whole new set of shocks, they did a full check out and said all was OK. They are straight talkers — Your car is ready when they say it will be, at the price they said it would cost.

These guys are amazing! Courteous, fast and don’t just look at one thing on your car when doing the job right the first time. They offer a quaint waiting room with wireless (just ask for the password) if you need to work while you wait. There is no «talking down» to you and absolutely respectful of your vehicle. Thank you guys! I’ll definitely be back and keep the word spreading.

I need to add an update here because I have recently discovered that Rudy and Peters does oil changes at the same cost as a speedy-​type place. Why the benefit of taking it to them? Well first of all if you are like me, you won’t get confused by the «up-​sells» that other places attempt. Secondly, when I had my car in for a change in December, they saw that one of my brake lines was frozen and caught the problem before it would have become pretty expensive. I’m not really convinced that a speedy oil and lube place would have caught the same thing.
