I had a breve’ Latte here and the cost was $ 4.75 It was small and the taste was nothing special. The JJ bean across the street rocks their coffee so that’s where I’ll go next time.

The food is great, the staff is excellent but, 1 $ for a coffee refill on a drip after you already paid 2.50 $ come on?! Nickle and diming your customers on coffee when they spend $ 15 on waffles is so lame! I’ll just bring my own coffee next time and we can take 5 bucks off our bill.

What a disappointment. Sorry to say, because they do many things right. Décor– check Nice staff — check Clean — check Menu — looks good Follow though on the menu– FAIL. Meat balls with mashed potatoes– the presentation looked great but the potatoes were gluey, gravy tasted too familiar– like a mix, or a can. Meatballs were overly salty. ABBA(waffle with apples Brie avocado and bacon) could have been decent if there was more cheese and if the bacon was different. The bacon was actually super dry hard overcooked bacon bits. The cheese wasn’t melted as described by the server. A few ultra thin slices– not enough. Basically the whole thing was a crumbly dry mess with nothing bringing it together. I thought they couldn’t possibly screw up the Lovers waffle. Wrong. Plain strawberries that had been thinly sliced and then refrigerated until they were translucent and anemic. Whipped cream with that ‘from a can’ texture and taste. Seriously??? If they’re going to go to all the trouble of a lovely restaurant as they obviously have, they could spend a little more on ingredients. Re-think how things are done in their kitchen. Fresh strawberries ffs!!, don’t be lazy– fresh whipped cream. Be generous with the cheese, or take a fail recipe off your menu. Maybe they really don’t give a damn about the customer and there are enough of them who applaud their appearance and don’t actually have tastebuds. Could really be great. Definitely not at this time.

Awesome toppings! Tried coming here a few times and it was always packed. Today however we got lucky and the place wasn’t too busy! We had the west coast and leaf erikson. I really enjoyed the west coast and highly recommend it! Poached eggs over smoked salmon with hollandaise sauce, capers and red onion. The leaf erikson wasn’t my type. It had hummus, artichokes, peppers and cheese. The format here is that you are seated, then you get up to order and the food is brought out to you. I was a little confused so hopefully this helps if you are going for the first time!

Last breakfast stop during our Vancouver weekend and so glad we found it! We got there about 9 on a Sunday and it was empty, but the small place filled up quickly. Although it’s counter service, you need to wait to be seated, and presumably to order if there are no tables. Anyway, with or without a wait, I would totally recommend this place. They have sweet and savory topped waffles and also waffles served with traditional breakfast. Naturally, we(two people) tried all three! The waffles themselves are great and the unique toppings made them amazing!

Scandelicious… more like Dammnn-delicious! Post-hike, me and my sisters decided savoury waffles were the way to go to fill our grumbling stomachs. We got there an hour before closing time but the staff was patient and pleasant to take our order and seat us. I ordered the Hang Over Helper($ 9). This came as a brussels waffles topped with two softly poached eggs that let its gooey yellow yolk drench the slices of ham it sat upon. I wish there was more ham and that it could have used a little more searing. Regardless, the light and chewy brussels waffle with the poached egg was a delicious combination. My little sister had a West Coast Waffle($ 12), which was similar to my dish but had smoked salmon instead. My older sister had the Leaf Ericson Waffle($ 9), which was a vegetarian dish with humus, spinach, artichoke, bell peppers and cheddar cheese — so many great flavours! Overall, a little pricey and it seemed like it was missing a side dish — a salad or hash browns? But all the flavours and delicious waffle was spot on, which made it balanced and not overly heavy. Free street parking around the block. They have store-made pastries and bread they sell at the counter. Also, for an extra fee, you can have your waffle vegan and gluten-free!

Delicious food at a scandalous price! Come here for all day breakfast and brunch food. They have all kinds of waffles — from eggs Benedict to sweet waffles. They have sandwiches and hamburgers. For me I had my salmon sandwich with dill, onion, capers, cucumber and a lemon dill sauce. Parking is easy on Victoria or the side street. Food is very reasonably priced. They had a baby chair for our girl — family friendly. I would come again!

Wow Scandilicious where have you been hiding?! Great breakfast food for a really reasonable price! and great fun staff too! They have an all day-breakfast menu(some with a scandinavian twist) and some regular after 11:00AM items like burgers… but the best thing is the waffos… oh the waffos! I ordered the hangover helper — because it sounded tasty — and it was! 2 eggs benny, with some back bacon how can you go wrong?! The only issue I had was that my lack of Scandinivian cuisine made me a bit fearful to order stuff I had no idea what they were… but that’s okay, after tasting the food the first time I doubt it can be bad going forward!

Rodrigo’s overall rating: 9⁄10 Sometimes it’s a bit busy for their space, but I think the upcoming renovations will change this to a full 10. I almost can’t express how much I love the chicken and waffles here, I’ve had it from 4 other places and they get it nowhere near as good. Everyone should have them. Julie’s overall rating: 8÷10− While I am always impressed by and happy to eat at Scandelicious, I think this time around we went when it was a bit too busy(at about 10am). That being said the service and food didn’t suffer for it, just the atmosphere. read the full review here:

Vegan and gluten free waffles available that are delicious and don’t taste like cardboard?! My new favourite breakfast place :) They have savory and sweet waffles, I’ve tried the Valhalla, Westcoast(my go to), and soulmates, all equally delicious. Can’t wait to come back again for the chicken and waffles, my cousins most favourite waffle. They also have milk substitutes for those who want a latte or cappuccino with their meal. There is free two hour parking right out front and on the surrounding side streets so it’s easy to get to and lots of free parking, always a plus :) Line ups are long on weekends so I always come on weekdays after or before the lunch rush and don’t forget about toonie Tuesdays!

Yum! I got the bacon egg sandwich and my husband got the classic. The waffle was really delicious, crisp on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. The egg sandwich was also really tasty. I think the biggest thing holding this place back is the coffee. I got the bottom of the barrel and it was mostly okay, but when the girl at the counter brewed another batch for my husband, it was super bland and watery. If we are in the area again, we will be back.

Authentically Norwegian, that’s for sure. The special of the day omelette was light and flavourful and neatly presented. Somehow even the bacon fits this description. The sourdough toast was dense like a Scandinavian bread is and the coffee utilitarian. Like I said, as authentic as you might find in Oslo. That said, it’s not your classic North American fill-you-up-for-the-day type truckers diner breakfast, so you might find that the price seems more than it’s worth.

I love this place! It’s usually the first place that comes to mind when we’re trying to decide where to go for brunch or if we’re particularly craving waffles. We’ve had a few of their waffles here including the chicken & waffles, Den Beste, ABBA and the Scandilicious. They’ve all been delicious and I’m looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu. The portions are a bit on the small side so don’t expect to be stuffed but you will be satisfied. They also have lots of great looking non-waffle items. It can get busy here so be prepared to wait.

Beautifully decorated and filled with lovely staff with smiling faces, this is my go-to breakfast spot. The menu has a great variety of options to choose from, so of course they’ve scored points for that immediately. The food is great, my favourite waffle destination. The waffles are delectable! With parking nearby, and not too far of a drive from their original location on Commercial, Scandilicious is DELICIOUS. However, not a hot spot for those travelling on transit.

Waffles here aren’t bad but at around the same price as Neros, there is definitely better to be found. We made our own adding chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of maple syrup. It was quite plain but waffle texture was good!

Big disappointment. Waffles are flavourless and chewy. Pulled pork was fatty. Really unimpressed. The only reason there is two stars is because the cider chai latte was yummy.

Cute Café on Victoria in East Van. I walked in no one here, gave me a chance to look around and read the menu on the wall. Its a Scandinavian waffle house /bakery /restaurant /café family run place. I ordered a latte $ 3.75 and Chicken & waffles made with cornbread waffle, chili maple bacon, fried chicken and sour cream maple syrup $ 14.00. Food took sometime, weird because I was the only person in the café. But when it did arrive she acknowledged it and apologized. The food really good I really like the fried chicken and bacon combo with the waffles. I debated to get the sour cream but it added a nice touch. Staff was friendly, order first at the counter and they will bring your food to you when it’s ready. I noticed a lot of gluten free options. Only complaint is my latte was more like a cappuccino really foamy(half the mug) which was disappointing. One hour free street parking. Overall really cool atmosphere, and by the time it was time for me to go this place became really busy.

We had the chicken & waffles, west coast & lovers — it was all deadly! Enjoyed every bite of these waffles! Tons of food options — so this place is really great! I did take out for a chicken & waffles but it didn’t hold til I got home in Surrey. Taste wasn’t as good as dine in for some reason! There is limited indoor seating(30ish seats??), so either make a reservation or go during non-rush hours

I have been here 4 times in the past 3 months and my girlfriend and I like this place but kept ordering different items to see if it would be better next time. The food is good but the price is too high for the portions. I would like to see bigger portions but not too big where the quality goes downhill. I had the chicken and waffles but would not order again unless I got more chicken. Scandilicous(with shrimp I believe) is my favourite so far but the price jumps since it has 5 pieces of small shrimp… once any seafood hits the menu item the price skyrockets even though you get only a few pieces. The coffee is better than Canadian coffee but no refills. I would pay %100 more for the coffee if refills were included. The atmosphere is decent, strange location but they save on rent at least.

When Scandilicious popped up on Commercial, I stopped my search for the best spot for waffles in Vancouver. I had found my heaven. However, with the switch to the new location, those days have ended. No longer is Scandilicious a waffle-haven, it’s expanded their menu to be a more of a general breakfast place, and expanded their prices along with the menu. You can get all day traditional breakfast, some Scandinavian specialty items, they do still have some vegan and gluten free options, but it looks like the vegan/gluten free waffle is gone for good. I assume it was for financial reasons that they had to give up the Commercial location, and they probably changed the menu to stir up some new interest and try a different approach, and if that is the case I can’t fault them. But it just ain’t workin’ it for me. Curse this Vancouver market, bring back my Commercial Drive Waffle Heaven!

This place must have the brewery crowd in mind,. I can’t think of another reason for its location but I love places that pop up in odd spots. This is comfort food with a scandanvian bent,. sort of?! Their main bread and butter is waflles(both savoury and sweet), but these aren’t the fluffy crap we usually see here in Vancouver. the waffles themselves taste awesome but the toppings go even further beyond. They also do sandwiches, and even pedestrian grilled cheese but it ALL looked great and worthy of a return visit. SO many things that I want to come back for,. including a $ 5 breakfast?! crazy.

Place: Very contemporary décor laced with warm wood. A casual restaurant where you order at the counter and the food is delivered to you. Service: The staff here is excellent. They were very helpful to us waffle newbies. They were careful to make the Leaf Ericson vegan. The non-dairy options for coffee were soy or almond milk. Food: The food was outstanding. We started with a sample of their muffins, one GF and one vegan. The vegan was terrific and our omnivore kids loved the GF offering. The waffles were clearly the bright spot. The savory waffle was excellent with fresh veggies and hummus and a nice crispy texture to the vegan waffle. The Veganessa was also excellent covered with peanut butter and berries. It was missing a bit of a crunch on the toppings like nuts or a crumble. But still excellent. The Lover’s was so good and wound up being a bit too much for one kid. The star of the show was the Apple Pieffle. It was the perfect combination of spice and sweet and was disappeared in short order. Try this hidden gem and you will not be disappointed.

A real homemade kind of feel. It definitely feels like an East Vancouver place with the atmosphere and the feel of the place. That’s not meant to be a negative comment. It cozy on the inside but I have a personal bias for places that have patio’s, so in this case, it defiantly has an outdoor seating! The food was good! I had eggs Benedict and a Café Latte. The eggs and the hollindase sauce was well presented and tasted great but the coffee was lacking. I was a bit hung over, so I was defiantly looking for a solid coffee but was a little disappointed!!! At the end of the day, I would rather go to smaller, locally owned(hopefully) places like this, rather than Denny’s!

I love the waffle and the hollandaise sauce here. I mean anything with Hollandaise sauce is always good. You just can’t go wrong. I shared the Westcoast and the Hangover with a friend and I have to say I am impressed. Its super delicous. The waffles are freshly made. THere are not much service here because you have to get your own water but they do bring the food to you. Have to say they have super good memory. They know where you sit and what you order without having to give you a number. Impressed. Only things is that they closes early on weekdays and weekend.

While a notch down from Neros, they are still a winner for being brave to open a breakfast/dessert place here. Also considering their original one is just 6 min drive from here too. Bigger locale, lots of seating with VIP seating on the right corner, and of course, window seating as well. Ordered the Chunky monkey, with peanut butter oozing on the waffles, banana, whipped cream, even more pieces of peanut butter… nicely presented as pic shows. Not overly sweet and waffles were fresh. Friendly service. Worth recommending, definitely date-worthy.

Fantastic breakfasts here. A real hidden treasure. There are lots of good waffles in Vancouver these days, but what makes Scandilicious different are the amazing toppings. There’s delicious bacon, salmon, veggie and egg varieties, but also equally appealing sweet options. The sweet options aren’t drowned in whip cream. The savoury waffles aren’t drowned in cheese. There are also vegan and gluten-free waffles. They even have some interesting burgers and sandwiches for lunch if you’re not in the mood for waffles. My favourite is definately the Valhalla: waffles with back bacon, maple bacon jam(with a hint of chilli), and back bits. Truly amazing. The new location on Victoria Drive is nicely designed, with several tables and bar stools by the windows.

I ventured down with a couple friends last weekend, having learned that the name refers to Scandinavia, rather than scandal… It’s a little out of the way unless you work or live in the neighbourhood. It’s a cozy little place where you can seat yourself and peruse the chalkboard menu before ordering at the front counter. While my friends both ordered waffle based meals, I satisfied my curiosity about what a kumle is, having read that it is a potato dumpling. It wasn’t quite what I expected and my friends benefited by getting to add some kumle to their breakfast. The rosemary used was a little overwhelming for me although I’m sure they were house made. My scrambled eggs were so-so but I enjoyed the back bacon served with my meal. I had a taste of the plain Belgian waffle and it was a fluffy cloud of tastiness. Overall, I think it’s a good bet for breakfast and there was a very tempting selection of baked goods. I’m not in a rush to go back, unfortunately.

I bumped into this location completely by accident. I took the wrong turn(in spite of the guy I am dating who bought me a map book as an early anniversary gift). I am used to their Commercial Drive location. I wanted a jar of the maple bacon jam(on order). I got two naked gluten free waffles to go for breakfast before my trip to Portland tomorrow. The cost was $ 5 which is a steal for a large waffle. The lady working there, Jen is so awesome and friendly. We were smelling my waffles which smelt like sweet almonds.

Finally made it to this place and was pleased to see they had a nice selection of both sweet and savoury waffles. I really wanted the apple pie waffle, but it’s not gluten– free so I settled on the strawberry with whip cream and chocolate drizzle. It was delicious and you’d never know that it was gluten-free. I can’t wait to go back to try one of the savoury varieties.

Everything on a waffle! Scandilitious Dockside just opened the doors yesterday offering baked goods and much talked about waffles. Looks like this is going to be a great attraction on the weekends as the word gets out about their single digit brunches. It’s a friendly, family run businesses and you can tell everyone is there because they want to be. This is such a great addition to the area. Right across from JJ bean Powell and near to all the art studios and craft breweries in an area that will likely be coined the Distillery District of Vancouver at some point. Scandilitious serves Republica coffee roast. It’s roasted a bit dark for my coffee snob self, but it’s pretty nice for an Americano. One thing of beauty is the long window seating with the thoughtful detail of coat hooks. And soon there will be electric outlets and wireless. This will be an alluring place for working away from home. The baked goodies lined up in the view case are all screaming to be tried. Some are gluten free and dairy free. Most are tauntingly sweet and buttery. Also, they have loaves of bread for sale and some of them are gluten free. I tried the Brioche. Best g*dam gluten free bread I’ve had to this date. No really, right off the charts! I think I found my local bread pusher.
