I haven’t back to this place for a few years now. I was really craving Korean food but didn’t want too spend too much. At first the service was a bit slow but once we ordered, the food started coming out pretty quick. The server was really nice and was quick to get everything that we asked for. We ordered the seafood pancake which was cooked well and not doughy, the Korean pork meat dish was generous in size(the sauce was tasty and different) and Soya bean paste soft tofu with beef was flavourful! Overall we had a good experience and probably the better korean restaurants with a good price :)

This place has good food – simple and hearty. The service is proficient and easy-going. The food is not pyrotechnically fancy or anything; that’s not the type of clientele it caters to. The main lady cook is a wonderful person, very kind. When one of my parents was ill, she made a special soup for me to take away and said she’d pray for my parent. She always takes the time to come out and say hi when I come by even though I don’t often. I appreciate that consideration. Bless her and the business.

Your typical Little korean restaurant… most ones that I’ve been to are REALLY Good esp this one… small, cozy… and of course offers the typical delicious korean meals: stone pot rice(bibimbap, soups, bbq… etx)

I went here here on thursday wanting to have Korean food badly. I remember dining here before and wanted to come back for Soondaegook(Korean blood sausage soup). None of the staff noticed me after arrival and I had to call them twice. Plus it was off peak hour. Staff were nice and friendly. My food came with banchan(Korean side dishes) and loved Kimchi and potatoes. Kimchi was good. Spicy and sour like ones I eat at home. Anyways my soup came out piping hot in a big portion. Broth tasted clean. I was advised that it’s already seasoned with salt and add more if I want it more salty. It wasn’t spicy and flavourful as the ones I had from Jangmojib. Felt like it’s missing soybean paste(doenjang) in the soup. However it was so tasty with Kimchi mixed in the soup. I even put spicy sauce to enhance flavour which was good. It’s the same way I eat with Sul lung tang like most Koreans do. I liked how my side dishes and food came all at once.

spicy kimchee! Get’s surprisingly busy for such a non descrip place. Feels pretty much EXACTLY like the small town restos in Korea with the classics. Appropriate pricing.

I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and his dodge-ball team. Compared to a lot of Korean restaurants I have been to in Toronto, this Korean restaurant is very spacious. The servers were very nice and friendly. However, I thought the food was just satisfactory. Compared to other Korean restaurants I have been to, this restaurant’s menu offerings was a bit lacking. The quality of the food was on par with other Korean restaurants. The prices, I would say, is average.

A great little place for a simple Korean meal! Was looking for a new Korean restaurant to try and my husband and I were happy we came across this place. Food was authentic and comforting. Not the fanciest of places but something about this place made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I liked that the food was very home-y as well :)

I heard about this place and had decent reviews so went to try it out. I ordered Samgyetang which is a traditional Cornish hen soup with ginseng. I was told its half an hour to get this dish but I figured it’s worth waiting. Unfortunately all I got was chicken soup. It was still Cornish hen but only green peas and some green and red pepper. The main ingredient is always ginseng but there wasn’t a single trace of ginseng in this dish. I’ve had this dish in Korea many times and this wasn’t even close to the real thing. If they don’t make the dish properly they should say they can’t make it. To top it off the kimchi I was given as side dish had big chunks of cabbage instead of smaller pieces. Even my Korean wife asked if I was sure I got the food from this restaurant because she thought it was not authentic Korean food. I definitely don’t recommend this place. MDG on Denman is still one of my favorite Korean restaurants instead.

Holy Shit! This place is a hidden gem. Its a small family owned restaurant in the heart of the kingsway area. The food is hearty and well-priced, and the service staff is amazing. I ordered the kimchi soup pot which comes with tofu, pork belly, clear noodles, and kimchi vegetables, in a kimchi soup base. The soup is flavored well and there is so much food in the pot. We also ordered the grilled mackerel, and it did not disappoint. It was half of a mackerel fish grilled nicely, served with a lemon wedge. The seasoning was on point, slightly sweet and salty, and the meat was very flaky and moist. The dolsot bibimbap we ordered was the star of the meal. Fresh veggies and ground meat, mixed with a raw egg and rice in a sizzling stone pot, with a bottle of Korean hot sauce to your own preferred amount of spiciness. The rice was so white and fresh, and the amount of veggies made it very refreshing. Did I mention the amazing side dishes? The cold bean sprouts and sweet marinaded potatoes were so freaken good! The cold sprouts gave mouthful of freshness with each bite, not to mention the friendly waitress who gave us extra! When we were done, the owner of the place came out to greet my mom, who knew her, and gave my mom a bag of kimchi. She was so happy and joyful that we ate at her restaurant. I’ve been to many Korean places, but this mom and pop restaurant his home for me. The amount of love and care that goes into their customers really shows with genuiness. Come support these guys people!!!

first time coming here. it was rlly gud(: the service is great except that one girl kept trying to rush us to order. the food was good but I’d say the best thing eaten tonight was actually the meat haha was very well marinated. I thought the rice cake ramen was not worth the price of $ 21 as it wasn’t really filling and wasn’t a great amount of serving. the bibimbap was kind of dry even putting lots of hot chilli sauce on. overall it’s a very comfortable environment and I would come here again!

For a simple, Korean meal, I would definitely recommend this place. You may not notice it when you drive or walk by, but upon entry, it’s a cozy spot with ample seating for larger groups. The place seems like it’s family run, they have 2 servers for the whole place, and the older ladies are in the kitchen cooking. Menu selection is decent, and prices are reasonable. We got an order of the steamed dumplings, mushroom tofu soup, and a BBQ beef shortribs. I loved the dumplings. The skin is thin, and the filling has just the right amount of meat to vegetable ratio. Also, the filling is not overly salty as I’ve had at other places. The dipping sauce with the chopped green onions accompanies the dumplings perfectly. The mushroom tofu soup was perfect on a rainy night. Again, it was flavourful without being overly salty. The shortribs were tender and delicious. One order comes with 3 pieces of the shortribs. The tofu soup comes with rice and banchan– bean spouts, potatoes, kimchi, and pickled radishes. The food takes a little longer to arrive but it’s worth the extra time. You get a jug of tea to serve yourself. Service is decent, and above all, food is simple yet delicious.

A great discovery along Kingsway. This place is hidden among the shops but is well worth visiting. It is very clear that this is a family run place with just the one person taking care of all the tables. We went late for dinner and didn’t have much issue with it being slow, but I can see that if it were busy, things would slow down drastically. Food was yummy. Ordered the tofu and mushroom soup(medium spicy) and beef bulgogi.

Can anyone say amazing!!! Cause it is. This place is authentic, its smaller and I feel like I’m walking into a Korean restaurant in Korea somewhere. The food is delicious and the ladies are definitely Korean and has that Korean atmosphere. I love the way the restaurant looks and feels, the taste of the food and the Korean ladies and their service. however it doesn’t have those built in table grills that most do, I’m assuming they have portable ones. They are smaller so it takes a little bit to make, but it’s worth it. Mm mm

Very fresh and authentic sullang tang! No MSG so it doesn’t make you super thirsty afterwards. You add your own rock salts and green onions so you can cater it to your own tastebuds. Their are flour noodles inside, which were kinda soggy but the soup quality totally made up for it. While the food is 5-stars, the service was 3-stars at best. It took FOREVER for our food to come out and it was pretty late in the day already. It seems it’s a old, semi-hole-in-the-wall so it’s understandable to some degree. I just didn’t like having to wait, what felt lke 30 – 45 minutes for soup. I will be back!

Being born + raised in Los Angeles, I’ve been lucky to have had access to some of the best Korean food in K-Town. There were so many good reviews for Seoul Doogbaegi — so I thought I’d give it a try. Oh Disappointment Town!!! Brought a friend who lived in Korea for 2 years — she was also very confused about the food here. Seafood pancake was extremely doughy + bland. Mostly shredded imitation crab. Where’s the shrimp? Where’s the octopus? Bulgogi tasted like chain restaurant or food court bulgolgi. Seolleongtang(beef bone soup) didn’t have that rich, milky brothy taste — just very watery. There were a good number of Korean customers there which was also very confusing considering the sub-par food. I noticed that the majority of them were eating the jjigae. Maybe that’s their specialty??? I’m really shocked at all the good reviews this restaurant got! I’m dying for good Korean in Vancouver!!! Any recommendations???

It’s a family run Korean restaurant on Kingsway. The décor is simple and nothing special. I find Seoul Doogbaegi quite authentic and less mainstream. The foods were excellent and the price very reasonable but the service wasn’t good(which expected). Pan fried & steamed pork dumplings — It tasted like home-made dumplings, so delicious. Mushroom tofu soup — Mild spicy tofu soup was tasty. Gam Ja Tahng — traditional spicy pork-back bone stew with onions, veggies, potatoes, and an insane amount of green onions. The meat was so tender that it literally was falling off the bones. But, the soup base was a bit light coz not much MSG which is very good thing! Galbi — Grilled beef short-ribs that’s so tender and juicy. After we finished the first order, we still were craving for more. So, we ordered another one to make us more satisfied. It would be my flavour Korean restaurant and probably will go more often.

HOMEMADEKOREANDUMPLINGS!!! This little place is a gem! Let me tell you, I am Korean and I know and love Korean food. I look for restaurants with value. Not only this restaurant provides great value for price but the authenticity of taste is there. One thing I want to point out is that THEYMAKETHEIROWNDUMPLING!!! I tried their pan fried dumpling and it was amazing. Also their soups are good because they use real beef broth and spices, not MSG like many other restaurants. Their kimchee is really good and fresh and other side dishes are tasty too. Great service, a go-to Korean restaurant in the neighborhood.
