Awesome pub. This is exactly the kind of place I love. It’s got that typical Irish pub setting and is well frequented my Irish regulars. The food is really good and every plate is only $ 6! You can go there with 3 buddies, have a pitcher of beer and nachos for $ 21.00. The beer is always $ 4 a sleeve. The manager is James and he’s doing a great job with the place. Oh and they have live music Friday, Saturday and Sunday — with a variety of different acts. Near the beach and they have a patio.

I had the misfortune of visiting this establishment for a second time this week, the first time I visited I was served by a girl who pulled a fine pint of Guinness and made the visit enjoyable, If you can ignore the tacky Oirish memorabilia which adorn the walls that is. As a result I decided to go back for another pint some days later but that was a mistake, my pint arrived down with a thin gassy head and I knew it was not fit for consumption so I called the waitress and asked if she could change it, she brought it back to the manager who told her there was no point in changing the pint as the next one was not likely to be any better and to ask me if I wanted another beer, at this point I left the premises. If you want to be considered an Irish pub then you at least have to master a decent pint of Guinness. Overall a very poor attempt at an Irish pub experience as it is absolutely nothing like an Irish pub. A score of minus ten for a very poor effort.

Stopped in here after a afternoon at English Bay/Stanley Park. I was with two friends one which was on a working visa from Ireland. There was one thing on the menu that she was supper stoked to see however after talking to the waiter who was also from Ireland, it was determined that it’s not the same as «back home». She ended up going with the Chicken Burger which she was very pleased with along with her Pale Ale. My other friend & I had Good Ol’ Reliable Burger. It wasn’t the best burger however with the live music, good people and the atmosphere, it totally hit the spot. Plus, with the $ 6 menu, the experience was well worth it. I think we’ll be back to celebrate her birthday later this month!

Very slow service. Food portions were not only ridiculous small but the quality was extremely poor. It took 30 minutes to get a burger that resembled something from Burger King.

Good place for a few pints, but the food is really not that great! Even at just $ 6 I’d expect a bit better. The Photos on Unilocal are absolutely false and look NOTHING like what you get! Steak and Guiness Pie, should have taken a photo! Tiny, you get a better serving and better Pie in you local supermarket for $ 1.29

Great place for location but honestly the food is pretty bland no flavor and I’m not mexican but who the hell makes guacamole look like a salsa and have the nerve to charge 2 dollars. The steak and guiness pie had no flavor at all. sorry but don’t waste your money on this place unless it’s for the scenery… go to The capital instead

created a Unilocal cause of my experience here!!! so strollin down the west end. see all food $ 6 dollar menu, and menu looks tasty. seemed like a better option then fast food for a cheap bite to eat. wow what a mistake! nowhere and i mean nowhere does it state a drink has to be purchased to eat. ok no problem, still expecting a good meal. as i expected they were going for what the warhouse and factory and moose do on granville. if not familiar all their food is $ 4.95 or $ 5.95 at the moose. their you get really well made food with good ingredients and its a full meal, as in burger and fries or salad. dont need to buy a drink! so back to the meal, well there is no meal! orderded tenders, got tiny pieces on a fancy plate with no side!!! plus they were probably bought at the discount grocery store down the street!!! this place brings you in with the idea like its the warehouse or factory, then screw you by mandatory drink plus not even a meal just a shitty snack!!! sorry to the waiter/barman who seemed nice but i cant tip when i get ripped off — $ 20 dollars for two watered down sodas, 4 fingers, and a chicken burger which according to my friend was the only half of a highlight! real chicken at least. i am never one to complain or cause a fuss but feel thoroughly ripped off! only way i would give them a fair chance is if the owner invited me back, gave me my money back from today, then offered me the real experience of this place with a clear explanation of how the menu works and what comes with what or dosent! would be happy to review this place again if that happened. very dissapointed as you can tell as for décor place and staff, seemed like good people and a nice pub but prepare to be decieved and overpay for shitty food maybe their irish dishes are better.

Found this place while walking around looking for lunch. The $ 6 menu posted outside helped us choose. Got the Guinness pie, wife got the chicken tenders. Both were excellent and appropriately portioned for $ 6. Service was friendly and attentive. Waiter/bartender said the management had recently changed, seems to be heading in right direction.

Decent bar. Great live music, though pretty quiet here on a Saturday night. Drink specials could be cheaper($ 7 for a beer) and crowd here are a bit older. Will update once I learn more.

Found this little quaint Pub on January first. Been to quite a few real Irish Pubs in Ireland and must say this is the closest I have come to the real thing here in Vancouver or Victoria. Staff were friendly and quick. Place was full. No one was complaining about the food, we had the chips they were great, fried in Guinness batter. The beer was good and they pour a proper Guinness. I would recommend this if people like Irish atmosphere, good company and wholesome food, not fancy.

This is a review for the ‘food’ only, and I use the word food loosely because apparently they do too. We were looking for breakfast and came upon this place, and breakfast sounded good. Upon review of the menu, the yorkies sounded delicious, and we had had some great ones a few weeks earlier at a different Irish pub. So since it was already noon, we decided to go for those. I don’t have super high expectations of pub food, but it usually decent, hearty food. This was absolutely nothing like that. Here’s a rundown of probably the worst food I have encountered in a sit down restaurant in North America: — The yorkies were so dry and chewy it tasted like I was eating styrofoam. Absolutely terrible. — It mentioned that it came with horseradish on the menu, which I don’t really like and is usually on the side, but apparently I had no choice, it was stuffed inside. — The ‘gravy’ was au jus, yes the beef dip type. I don’t expect real homemade gravy(although that would be nice), but at least get some packaged gravy. — The ‘roast beef’ seemed to be the slices you get in the deli, maybe microwaved to make it conveniently barely chewable. It also tasted off. The waitress didn’t seem to care that when we didn’t say the food was good, or left 2/3’s of it on the plate. Just avoid this place for food. I couldn’t believe that a place could so royally screw up yorkshire pudding, so I can’t imagine what they would do with anything more complicated.

Great spot for a beer on the patio & watch the laddies go by. I was mesmerized by a few yesterday. Food is okay, nothing spectacular. Hey, its irish, what can i say?

We were hungry and I was ready to eat just about anything. Friendly service, and loved that they had Pilsner Urquell on tap. Burger was adequate. Husband’s sandwich and goulash soup, just okay. Prices were very reasonable.

Disappointing. Two of us had the Shamrock burger with fries. Portions were very small and the burger patty was dry and forgettable. The bun was also dry. It came with about 10 — 20 hand-cut french fries that were just OK. Another member of our party ordered the Shamrock burger and requested the gluten free option. She was told it wasn’t available. She ordered the all day breakfast instead and was told the eggs are only available as scrambled. When the server brought her gluten free all-day breakfast to the table, he asked if she«saw any gluten on the plate» and that he would remove it if she found anything. Really? Nice TVs with lots of sports. Probably great for evening beers, but we won’t be back.

The service here is hit or miss but still a decent place for a couple of pints with friends. The menu is lacking and doesn’t have any home run items so if you’re looking for a bite I’d check out the surrounding places to eat.

New place that took over the beaver and mullet. They cleaned the place up a bit, updated, new menu, and clearly new staff. If was quit busy but not full when a group of 4 of us went to check out the new digs. The servers we had come to us seemed a little confused and flustered but got the job done in the end. We recognized a server from the beaver and mullet who seemed to be keeping things going smoothly, glad to see she was taken on at the new place. The food: I didn’t eat. The menu is lacking… I didn’t eat and would have given 2 stars for lack of originality on the menu. There are no appealing vegetarian options… a burger, fries, or a plain salad gets tiresome. My group all ate but no one was thrilled. They said not bad but not memorable. The beef taco salad was mostly mixed greens, the burgers weren’t outstanding. Drinks: good prices, decent selection, probably the only reason to come back. Overall we won’t be frequenting this spot. Too bad we had high hopes for a great new, fresh watering hole in our hood.

It’s a nice place with great service. The owner personally greets everyone and if you become a regular he may surprise you with a drink on him. It’s also nice to seat on the patio drinking a cold one and people watch. The burgers are amazing but I haven’t had the chicken but I’m told it isn’t there best food. Real friendly and relaxed place. I’d recommend it to a friend.
