I ate if not the best meal of my life, one of the best meals last Saturday night. I shared one of the specials which was a black garlic artichoke pasta dish and the brick chicken entrée with my sister. We both said «impossibly good» at same time (we are twins!) for both dishes. During our short stay in Vancouver we ate here twice. While the second time was not as earth shattering as first time, it was still pretty amazing.

Sit at the bar! We sat next to a lovely couple from Seattle, shared Trump stories, besides eating the best duck confit outside of France. The place was humming, everyone animated and happy. Staff handed out water to the waiting customers, the barman attentive and full of suggestions as to which salad was most popular (with walnuts), which pasta (with pancetta) and which dessert (strawberry rhubarb crumble). We’ve been here several times and love the ambiance and the food.

Legit! Awesome food. done right… Good service and the patio is one of the best in the city. A lot of restaurants could learn from this place. Good ingredients and good service and bingo. A winning combo.
Everything I’ve ever eaten here is quality. Good wine too.

Amazing experience tonight. We sat at table 11 on the patio, and the service was exceptional. If you want fantastic Italian food with the feeling your good friend is hosting you, wine and dine here.

We tried this place based on the reviews on Unilocal and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing, both pastas we ordered were overcooked to the point of mash, so salty that we couldn’t have more than couple of bites and ended up going to another restaurant, our loss of appetite was noticed by the staff and were asked if everything was ok, but at this point we just assumed it’s our palette rather than the food because this place seems to get a lot of good reviews, in terms of Taste, texture and quality big fail… I would much rather stick with Giardinos, Cioppinos, Lupo and the likes. Also they don’t serve Diet Coke which was kind of strange.

We came here while visiting. It was so good. Definitely busy but worth the wait. My family loved it. I can’t wait to come back!

Delicious food. A must try! Highly recommend the burrata and prosciutto, it’s amazing. As for pastas, we went with the daily special that was created with anchovies and octopus, and seasoned with chili flakes and olive oil. It definitely had some kick to it! Would return again, it was a great experience.

First time at this quaint, humble Italian spot and I definitely intend to go back! All-​round excellent experience, from the menu choices (especially the specials), the food presentation and taste, beverages, and service. My boyfriend spotted this great find on Instagram, and the beautiful plating of fantastic looking dishes was what drew us in. It definitely did not disappoint!

Tavola specializes in basic fresh pastas, salad specials, and their own versions of bruschetta. The food is very solid for the price point, though not spectacular.

Nice outdoor patio for warm evenings, and modern yet comfortable seating indoors. Nice bar as well.

This place was my favorite part of my trip to Vancouver.
We hardly had to wait to get a table on Friday night, maybe 5 minutes at most.
We started with the burrata with sea salt. It was served with grilled bread, and the burrata was so creamy and fresh.
I had the Tonnarelli Cacio Pepe and it was magnificent. This was one of my favorite dishes from when I visited Italy. The fresh pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was creamy and flavorful.
Our server was wonderful and super funny.
Overall, an exceptional experience. I’d love to go back.

Amazing food with excellent customer service!
I would frequently see this little hidden gem whenever I bike to Stanley park but never actually stopped by. After a recommendation from another a friend, I decided to jump the gun and give this place a try. Although the menu at Tavola isn’t large, there is a real good reason for it — Every dish is delicious and is cooked to perfection. I also like how they have a different daily dishes and how creative they are with then daily dishes. The servers are also extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It’s very clear that they enjoy working there! Haha!
Do NOT skip dessert here, the sticky coffee pudding is amazzzzinggg and is worth every single bite !

Went here with the hubby on a Monday night. Service was fantastic. Food was delicious. and the panna cotta dessert was to die for! My only one star off is the level of noise on a Monday night. But overall will come back.

Little tucked away high end italian restaurant in the West end. There simply isn’t a bad dish on the menu at this place. Great for a date night or group dinner. Every dish is full of flavor, great wines and great atmosphere. Ask for Brett or Jesse to serve you if want the best experience possible.

Every cell in my tongue and digestive tract felt nourished after this meal. Beware of exceptional tasting Italian food.
Burrata with sea salt and olive oil: The simultaneously firm yet creamy and spreadable burrata, served with tasty slices of toasted bread, tasted even more beautiful than it looked.
Bucatini all’Amatriciana: Delightfully chewy bucatini (like thick spaghetti with a hole through the middle) coated with a spicy tomato based sauce. Mmmm.
Gnocchi: Great harmony with the butter sauce and pine nuts.
Sticky toffee pudding (with ice cream on top!): Satisfying dessert to round off the meal. The sticky toffee syrup is quite sweet and the size of this thing makes it shareable.
PLEASE MAKE RESERVATIONS, or else you will be glaring enviously at others while you wait your turn!

My dinner companion introduced me to attend a function at this lovely restaurant. A grand long table with lovely dishes… Italian meat balls spinkled with parmasean, Bucatini all’Amatriciana, fresh arugula salad… and and much more… at the end of the long table, decorated with a young piglet biting on a green apple.
It was a crowed affair, lovely service and friendly people. It was my first time here a night yet to be remembered.

Oh Tavola, how I love you. Let me count the ways.

The other HOUSE MADE pastas are delicious as well, so are the mains and the specials. In the summer, the stone fruit salad is dynamite.
Did I say bucatini, bucatini, bucatini, bucatini, bucatini? This tomato sauce whoooooooore gives the sauce 5 stars, great tomato flavour, nice hint of heat/​spice.
(my only complaint is they need something to absorb the noise in the room… shhhhhh).

Nicely done Italian food. Right in the heart of Vancouver near Stanley Park.
Parking is an issue though being right in one of the busiest corners in the city.
The Burratta cheese is to die for. As are the deep fried Olives. Pastas are very nicely done.

How I love thee, Burrata…
It’s true, I never met a Burrata I didn’t like!
Burrata business aside, this place is a very special gem. We came here twice in a 4-​day trip to Vancouver, it was that awesome. Everyone talks about the chinese and japanese food in Vancouver, but we have a LOT of italian in the bay area and this place is serious competition for the best.
The pastas are made fresh in-​house and the food is clean, simple Italian with the perfect flavor complexities in each. Sauces are rich without being heavy, not too acidic or rich, just right. The drinks are very good, too. With a cozy, grown up ambiance, and some really easygoing yet attentive staff working here, it was too easy for us to linger awhile. And return for a second visit a few days later.
We’ll miss you Tavola but we will spread the good word and return to scarf down some more of your delicious offerings… including that insanely delicious burrata board with prosciutto.
To the staff that just oozes good vibes and realness, amen to you people!

5-​star experience at a small hidden gem. You could totally bike past this place and never know it was here. We walked right to where the GPS sent us and we still couldn’t figure out where it was, because the entrance was hiding behind some trees in a quiet neighborhood.
I found this place on Unilocal by searching «nearby» dinner, so thank you to the Unilocalers who sent me here! I made reservations by emailing Brad (the owner?), who was prompt at responding and letting us in right when they opened. Brad was so helpful in explaining the menu, the area, the city, and he pretty much oriented us to the town on our first night in Vancouver. Thank you Brad.
I’m gonna cut right to the chase:
BURRATA PLATE with Prosciutto — holy cow. must get this.
Wine list was excellent, with some Sardinian wines my hubby had never seen before.
Kids menu was non existent but they did make some pasta dishes for the kids who rated it «100 stars» so it must have been really really good pasta. My parents were also impressed with the food here so everybody was happy.
They even have a gluten free pasta, which I forgot to order because I had the brick chicken! All the entrees were served sort of family style so everyone could try a little bit of everything. They have house made pastas, so everything is fresh. Try the gnocchi if you like soft pillows of dough.
Ambience is cute and cozy inside, with additional outdoor seating and blankets for nights when it gets cold. Dress can be casual, service was top notch, food was excellent. If you’re looking for Italian food, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out, dot forget to order the BURRATA.
