The Last Crumb is a cozy and comfy bakery & café that is dedicated to bringing you North American treats reminiscent of yesteryear such as flaky tender scones, moist luscious cakes, delicious pies, loaves, bars and cookies and more. This includes gluten-​free scones, bars and pies as well.

We are dedicated bakers and makers of fine North American nostalgic foods and treats. We make everything in small batches, to ensure freshness. We use the highest quality ingredients (preservatives-​free and artificial flavoring-​free). We are handcrafters.

Our baked goods have been featured in various publications such as our browned buttered brownies in Edible Vancouver and our gluten free scones in the Vancouver Courier. Come by and give it a try, you won’t regret it!

Historique

Fondé en 2012.

We are a small business (owned by two sisters) dedicated to bringing you the best sweets and savouries made from scratch and from our hearts. We use no preservatives or artificial colours or sweeteners in our sweets and use real butter (we heart butter… a lot).

We want this dream to be a community gathering place where you can come for a quick bite, leisurely read a book while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee (and cake, of course) or stay the afternoon catching up with your friends and family.

We welcome you to chat with our passionate and wonderful staff, give us feedback on our products (because we do want to be the best that we can be!) and tell us your favourite nostalgic treats and we will try our best to re-​create that experience for you.

We are proud to be a zero waste facility, support local businesses and suppliers (we use the term «love local» here) and family friendly (we have high chairs available!).

First time in, the café is pretty large for vancouver standards, staff is friendly. My husband said he had the best chai tea he has ever had, he also had a piggy in a scone which was really good. I had a English breakfast tea with steamed milk and a filled chocolate chip cookie which was really good as well.
It was easy to find seating on the top floor. Really recommend it.

Service was quick and friendly. Prices are really decent! The food was nice and very homemade tasting. The gluten free chocolate chip cookie was AMAZING, it didn’t fall apart or taste powdery like most do. They have a nice selection of food and hot chocolate. A good spot for lunch or coffee on main.

Ive only been once, but had a mocha and it was choice! Defs going back today for another. Perfect chocolate to coffee ratio with beautifully frothed milk :) oh and the girl who served us… Meg i think. She is just a 10 outta 10!

Tried the coconut cake to go and thought it was way to sweet and a very dense cake. Also, we put it in the fridge for half a day and the icing was extremely hard. Would go back to try other things but not something I would want to visit often.

I ordered a 12 inch birthday cake… it was amazing. It looked like a wedding cake!!! It was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. It was reasonably priced as well.

Wow! What a great establishment!
I had the prosciutto and Brie sconewich, cookie sandwich, and I picked up a sample of their white tea and all of it was DELISH!
I left my water bottle that I had just received for running a half marathon at their establishment, and I was headed back to the states. I called and Joanne took down all my info, and then held really speedy email correspondence with me and had my water bottle shipped back! I was so amazed at how her and her team were willing to take the time to do that for me!!! They truly go above and beyond and didn’t ever make me feel like I was inconveniencing them even though I totally was! I’m super into the Last Crumble and will definitely be back next time I’m in Vancouver!

Modern interior, coffee is okay, but was little too acidic for me (i like nutty coffee).
food is better than coffee.

Love love love their sandwiches, sconewiches, quiches, baked goods and iced teas. We packed sconewiches for the picnic in our engagement shoot, and they delivered a huge order for 30 to our home for our wedding day backyard luncheon. Amazing sourdough sandwich bread, and my mom who doesn’t like even quiches had a second serving.

This place is so cute we really wanted to love it. Had to find a quick lunch so we thought their sandwiches would be perfect. So not perfect… not even close. We wouldn’t come back. The bread seemed still raw and was mushy. You know… that mushy when things are not quite baked enough? I had the brie and pear and my partner had salami. NO flavor at ALL other than undercooked bread. (That’s still all i taste 3 hours later. Yuck) we were both just craving mustard or something! Onion marmalade totally bland. And on the salami one… you know how thin salami slices are right? One slice.
We were SO disappointed and actually wished we had just gone to dairy queen (where by the way we NEVER eat at. …ever) that’s how bad it was.

The Last Crumb Bakery & Café opened on Main Street since 2012. It is located on 15th and Main Street, there are so many coffee shops in this area now. We went there at 9am when they opened and easy to find the parking at the early morning.
It’s good place for coffee and quick bite, the café is spacious and clean. 2/​F is cozy but comfortable. They have different baked stuffs and gluten-​free scones, cookies and etc.
The bacon cheddar scone & Kitchen sink cookie was fresh baked and tasted good.
Cappuccino & Matcha latte was good but not outstanding.
Another good spot for relax and enjoy the day.

While in this neighbourhood and feeling under-​caffeinated I almost always get my fix at 49th Parallel Coffee (
), but the line was waaay too long. They seemed a bit under-​staffed — which is not usually an issue there. But when under-​caffeinated, long lines get under my skin, particularly when I’m a bit under the gun running a bit late for a meeting. So, under duress, I decided to get under way.
I passed the JJ Bean a few doors down which also had really long lines (perhaps also under-​staffed?). As I was a bit under the gun, and under-​caffeinated, under the circumstances I popped into this place instead for my espresso.
Instead of being under-​staffed, it was fairly under-​full. In fact there were only about 4 tables taken. I ordered my espresso, and even though the place was pretty empty it took the woman behind the counter an un-​understandably long time to get under way and prepare it.
She finally finished it off, and served it in a Chinese style tea-​cup (un-​understandably an odd choice). Visually, without having to put it under the microscope, I was under the impression it was likely under-​extracted. But I was under-​caffeinated and in a rush, so I didn’t say anything — even under my breath. As expected it was really thin tasting and very sour. Under-​extracted. They likely should grind a bit finer, or perhaps because they were under-​filled the machine was under-​utilized and running cold. Anyhoo, a very unsuccessful espresso attempt. Photo:
I much prefer places that under promise and over deliver. Here I was just underwhelmed!

Big place that feels like a high school cafeteria but only one bathroom downstairs and you need to ask for the key? :-(
Hot Chocolate Festival 2015 — Triple Ginger Spiced Hot Chocolate ($ 6)
Ginger flavour for sure but not very gingery.
At $ 6 seems like a pretty pricey hot chocolate, flavour shot notwithstanding.
Hot Chocolate Festival 2015 — Chocolate Cherry Lust ($ 6)
Sweet Maraschino cherry flavour quite strong and off-​putting for me. If you like this sort of cherry in your black forest cake or ice cream you might like this hot chocolate.
Comes with a big marshmallow. Yay. But still pricey at $ 6.
Also tried: Gluten Free Browned Butter Brownie ($ 3.25)
Not as dense, heavy, or chocolatey as your typical fudge-​type brownie. Kind of flour-​y tasting. But coeliacs can’t be choosers, I guess.

This large space is really nice to enter in a city that is so constrained normally due to real estate prices. The good news is that isn’t the only thing good about it.
With plenty of seating in the upstairs «loft» and and assortment of communal tables and small tables below this place is a welcoming environment to have what I surmise to be some excellent baked goods, or a great hot chocolate.
The pie was great, as was the salted caramel hot chocolate, above average. The glass case was FULL of things I know will draw me back and not an insignificant about of it gluten-​free! I think though there are a few bakeries around,. this is a still a good asset to the area though It is on the slightly higher end of the price range for similar goods.

I just have to say, the sandwich is incredible. The bread was really moist and soft, the pesto chicken was just the right amount and the arugula makes it taste fancy. It definitely tastes fresh, as advertised.
Latte was as expected. Also had a pumpkin pecan loaf (sprinkled with ginger sugar) that was very average. You know what I mean — some of the cafes on this street have baked goods that just make you so happy that you bought one to entertain your taste buds, but this one wasn’t a proud purchase of mine.

Love this palce! So many yummy baked goods and pastries! They even have some savoury lunch options!
Try one of their famous scones, or if you’re famished, get one of their «sconewiches» LOL. It’s exactly what it sounds like!
They even have some gluten free options! Total win! They have a large artisan tea menu as well for you to enjoy with your drinks!

Last crumb is a quaint and Eco– friendly place. Perfect for mommys w their children’s play area and benches for groups. Their delicious sandwiches, witty quiches and frittatas as well as the cutest lil sweets. Their cakes should be on your must-​try list.
Their sunshine cup is an explosion of the warmness you wish you were still snuggling to in bed, the tasty egg melts in your mouth w all the goodness in the world and the crispy scone cup is delicious!
Highly recommend their devils cake if you suffer from chocolate deprivation and need one intense satisfaction… Except you’ll crave more afterwards.
Really fun place to do your work, hang out w friends, bring your baby or just enjoy w yourself.

A nice large and clean space.
The glass counter is full of delicious-​looking desserts, but I was after something savoury. Scones were on display, and the menu advertised a selection of sandwiches. Another menu on the back wall listed 4 additional featured items.
I ordered a chicken pot pie for 8.95. It was the perfect way to kill an afternoon hunger. Not mushy. No fake fillers. Tender chicken, peas, mushrooms and a mild gravy, topped with crisp, flaky pastry. I prefer my pastry a little more chewy, but this was not a problem. I was satisfied.
My mom was with me and ordered a chai latte. They could have backed down a little on the cinnamon. It’s all we could smell.
I’ll be back to try some of the sweets.

Came here for one of their hot chocolates during the Hot Chocolate Festival. We ended up getting the Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate with Berry Marshmallow. It was good, but nothing special. I liked the marshmallow more than the drink itself to be honest.
We also tried some of the food.
Genoa Salami Sandwich — genoa salami, red onions, cheddar cheese, roasted red peppers and dijon mayo on a jalepeno cheddar scone. They sandwich was a little too sweet for me and I felt it needed more meat.
Breakfast Quiche Cup — potatoes, bacon, cheese, onions and egg on top. You can’t go wrong with breakfast food. The egg wasn’t overcooked either, which I loved.
Overall I liked The Last Crumb Bakery, but they can lower the price just a tiny bit. Maybe if I try something else and it blew me away, I can justify the prices.
