The Tiny Coffee Bar

Tiny is a great way to describe this place. It has two seats inside and that’s about it. In the summer it’s very hot so don’t assume you’ll stay for your drink. I don’t think I’d go back unless I happened to be near by, mostly because of the heat

I was hungry though I need a bite before I get home. Found this place on Unilocal and was intrigued by Eastern European dishes (not too many in Vancouver). Was pleasantly surprised with amazing quality of the soup (goulash), and the warm and welcoming atmosphere and service. I left the place feeling I just visited someone’s home! Will definitely come again.

What a really cool cute little discovery this weekend on the late night Granville Street. There is a reason why this is called the little Tiny Coffee shop. It is so small that it is easy to miss. In fact if it wasn’t for the sandwich board that was placed outside I would’ve missed it. During the day I can see how this place would totally be missed in sight. Although it claims that it can hold 16 people, more like 5. There is very limited seating but it is very very very small.
The guy who runs the place. Sean… something (sorry buddy if I forgot your full name), is super awesome and chatty and friendly, almost a complete 180 from regular Vancouverities.
The shop is very small and basic, therefore, there is no decafe, there are no special syrups and nothing over the top fancy. Sometimes going back to basics is good. Why complicated our lives… certainly not our coffee.

Shawndor, the handsome Hungarian Barista and host of the tiny coffee bar is quick, friendly and welcoming. He pulls one hell of an espresso and my stomach didn’t react to it and I wasn’t jittery either. They were playing great music too, taking the leap and trying this place was a good call.
There is a good view of the street life walking past, but the best part of the tiny coffee bar is that it’s size eliminates the people accumulation that happens downtown. Think about it, how many coffee shops in downtown Vancouver are cramped and crowded because of people sitting, spreading out their books, laptops, cables etc and staying until close. Tiny coffee bar solves this very Vancouver problem by structure.
If you need to get out of the pool of people, rain and cars that is the Granville strip, you NEED to go to the tiny coffee bar.
Fair prices and great snacks, but to the total opposite of what you might expect when it comes to space, mental physical or otherwise. If you want to relax at a coffee shop for a short amount of time and refocus, tiny coffee shop is literally overflowing with what you need.
