This place was epic. It takes a lot to impress a group of Texans at a burger joint on Davie street.

A friend and I came here for a late night dinner. It was particularly quiet(both past 11PM and a weeknight). When we walked in, we were promptly greeted by a man up front who we later found out was the owner. He recommended my friend the BBQ burger, and I got the G-Money. Given the fact that they label their burgers fresh and house made, the 5 ish minute wait was totally worth it, and house made you could taste. The G-Money came with double patties and mushrooms; those mushrooms were SO juicy and tender , and the patties themselves were perfectly cooked and juicy(given the fact we ate them to go 10 minutes after they were cooked). Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve had to date. Will be back soon.

Some might say aren’t all the Vera’s the same. I have been to other Vera’s however didn’t have chance to interact with owner of the branch until now. When I went in at this particular visit they were extremely busy I waited in line for good 15min at least. And the while time the person at the check out was very pleasant and attentive to all the customers. When my turn came there was a guy who just cut the lune and got his order. He said he ordered for to go 30 min ago. I wasn’t happy because the person who was taking orders at the check out didn’t explained it to me. If it was explained I would be not offended. But considering 15min waiting in the line I was not happy that I was treated as if I am not standing there. I expressed my opinion and the person at the check out who turns out be owner apologized right away without hesitation and because of long waiting and all he generously offered discount on my order. I wasn’t happy only because of the offer but his pleasant attitude and caring service. I would definitely go back and I have no doubt why this vera’ s was so busy.

Good burger but not best I have ever had. The Philly was delish. Fries are an 8⁄10 but skip the ketchup and ask for Veras sauce. Great location in gaslamp district and one of the only family friendly spots we could find. Fountain drink and plastic bottles of coca cola, products available plus beer and full bar. Service was great!

quite possibly the slowest service I’ve ever had… not worth the wait. Try somewhere else. Twice the taste in half the time

Bit overrated. Regular fries are just regular and very greasy. Lamb burger had a strange aftertaste. Beef burger was just ok. Food, service and washrooms were mcd — material. Glasses seemed dirty but in reality they are simply over-used. On a patio there was a cigarette pack.

Burger was not as tasty as the smell alluring me inside would hope, but the fries were on point! Staff was meh and place is not nicely lit or decorated. Sort of the bunk and glaring T. V’s vibe. Seating is also weird because if you’re in a bunk and another customer is at one of the singular tables they’re basically just staring at you the whole time… Plus if you want cheese you have to pay 1.20 $ extra :/

Good, fresh burgers and fries — made to order and they hit the spot. That BBQ sauce is pretty amazing too.

A friend in LA who went to school in Vancouver raved about this place. I can’t say I get it. It was fine, service was friendly, food was so-so. I got a single burger, small fries, and(sub-par) shake for $ 18. I dunno, for that price I’ll probably just go to Cactus Club and get a tastier burger and nicer atmosphere. It’s no wonder the place was almost empty at lunchtime. Nothing wrong with it, the numbers just don’t make sense.

This place is God awful !!! My order was not right so I took it back only to have the women at the cash register paw through my burger with no gloves on after dealing with people in line ups cash and try to hand it back to me! Gross!!! No Thanks Versa’s! These’s a lot of other choices out there that are in touch with a sanitary way of dealing with simple issues. They would NOT return my $$$ either. So I told them to keep the burger, my wife & I will NEVER return!!! Oh you, there service get did get back to me with nothing but false promises!!! Thanks Gerald! You can read all about it on every blog I write.

What can I say; Perhaps, Vera Burger for Davie Street location is the best among Kits, Broadway or Denman. I love the Natural Burger. You can’t beat the price for its fresh, tasty and juicy burger plus their onion rings is good too. Never had a bad experience here so no trouble with 5 stars.

Slow service, no napkins with my meal, the tables were dirty and the staff unfriendly. Sorry I was put off with Vera’s tonight. I had to go check for my meal twice. I am the only person in here. ???

the plastic coca cola cups that should never be re– used, are already leeching their chemicals, evident in the cloudiness of the material that gives it the appearance of being ‘merely’ dirty and greasy. The grill screen fans you can tell by the smokiness in the air, need cleaning– IMMEDIATELY. The burgers are charred lumps of coal pressed into what vaguely might have once been beef. And yet I PAID for this? And the washrooms have a bad odour, and the 3 girls were all chowing down on something while our burgers were being cooked. No washing of hands were observed. otoh– if you read my review of vera’s on denman, you’ll understand the significance of this : Davie at least has mushrooms, ice, and three staff working.

Décor: 4⁄5 — Clean — Some tables for groups of 4, some booth style seats Service: 4⁄5 — Friendly — Order at the front, no waiter service — I asked for hot sauce on the side, etc, they were happy to provide! Food: 4⁄5 — I had the single patty vera burger. It was a good amount of crispy and grilled on the outside and moist inside. — Patty was about a ½ inch thick, grilled to order — Bun was fresh and fluffy Would come back to try their other burgers and hotdogs

one of the smaller ones too, similar to Commercial Drive; when you enter, it’s a long hallway to get to the cashier, just be careful not to bump into anyone. Parking is always a challenge here, esp. during rush hour.

This Vera’s once gave us a chicken burger with no chicken… !!! I brought it back to them and they gave me store credit on one of their gift cards. The cook did try to argue his way out of it, but the evidence was clear. I was definitely NOT a big enough nut to eat the patty and bring back an empty bun! Vera’s used to be some sort of novelty for me with their humongous burgers and fries. I’ve probably only(ever!) been to Vera’s a total of 5 times. The burger I get every time is the lamb burger. It’s something that you don’t find at every burger joint, AND Vera’s makes a juicy lamb burger! Crave-worthy? Not to me. I have yet to find myself drooling over the thought of Vera’s. Perhaps because it’s pretty expensive! I know what you’re thinking: «Just get the burger!». If only it were that simple. A burger is not a burger without the meal. I don’t eat this often, so when I do, I like to order the whole shebang!

I love the burgers at Vera’s. I like the options, I like the combos, I like the TV screens with sports, I like the beer specials. The lady who works at this Vera’s(Davie and Burrard) is especially nice and usually remembers my name. It’s a little expensive, though. If you get anything besides the plain one you will be paying $ 10 just for a burger. I’m not saying $ 10 is extravagant, and it is of course delicious, but be forewarned.

RUDECUSTOMERSERVICE!!! LIES. Really bad franchise. They don’t honour Birthday Coupons even ONTHEDAY of your birthday. I live close by the South Granville Veras location and have always had good nice service. Seeing how I got a coupon for my birthday, I was planning to use it at a Vera’s that was closer to my work place as it was only valid for the day of my birthday. Just now, at 12:00pm, I spent 15 minutes walking one way in the rain to the downtown location on Davies. I had my coupon in my hand and the moment I stepped in the shop, the Asian lady/cashier said«WEDONTTAKEBIRTHDAYCOUPONSHERE». I told her the coupon said«any Veras Shack location», but she still would not honour it. I told her other locations that I go to honour it(aka South Granville), but she still insists she’s different. I’m really unsatisfied with this location. I didn’t even try the food and would never try it. Who would want to eat at a place where you are scowled at and lied to?

After a day of running all around Vancouver before a meeting, I was really craving a burger. A really good burger. A spectacular and indulgent burger. Unilocal saves me in these situations, so I did a search and headed over to Vera’s. Parking was really easy to find on the street.(Side note: I love parking in Vancouver because it is so easy to do with credit cards. The flashing green traffic lights I still don’t understand…) I got a little nervous about the outside because the awning is ostentatious and still doesn’t really stand out compared to what is next to it, but then I went inside. With hockey playing on four screens, this feels like a very Canadian way of eating a burger, but somehow it doesn’t feel too sports-bar-like. Clean and open, it is easy to read the menus and order. The cashier was very friendly and told me she would bring the food to me. I ordered sweet potato fries and they were perfect; both crispy and hot. This is a rarity for sweet potato fries, which I can never figure out. If they have good breading, they aren’t hot; if they are hot, they don’t taste good. Somehow, Vera’s pulled it off. The burger was also great. I ordered the works and pulled a few things off because it was so big. A very sweet, gruff-voiced attendant(possibly the owner) checked on me to see if they needed to fix the order, although it was perfect. He checked on me at the end, too. The entire time I was eating, he was constantly cleaning and taking care of tables. Really incredible service and attention. I am over-the-top impressed.
