Wedgewood Hotel & Spa

Very pretty hotel and comfortable beds. I have to say the staff were awesome and friendly and always smiling. Obviously some of the plumbing needs work as the toilet kept backing up– with just small amounts of toilet paper. Kept having to call housekeeping. At one point asked them to just leave plunger but they wouldn’t. One of the issues we had was out of the hotels control but may be important to someone on vacation. It is VERY noisy at 6 am outside the hotel– lots of crashing, banging and dumpsters being banged around. Kind of disappointing when you are on holidays and hoping to sleep in.

Great location, service, and very friendly staff. Old world courtesy from the all of the employees, they remembered us and promptly responded to any question or request. Would highly recommend this hotel

Fantastic. Each detail is thoughtfully done without being gawdy or try-​hard. The staff is gracious yet still real. The rooms are clean, comfortable and sexy. Highly recommended. Especially nice that valet and breakfast are included during off season. One of the best espressos I’ve had.

The most considerate and accomodating staff and management. We got married here and the service was impecable, we never got nickled and dimed like many hotel chains. And the suites have an incredible layout and every detail you could imagine is considered. I cant think of a better hotel experience and Im fussy!

Stayed here as a local tourist. It was perfect. The staff is great and very accommodating. The food was great at the hotel restaurant as well!

Staff was friendly, polite, and helpful. It’s in a convenient location.
It was very noisy during the day to some construction.
In the evenings they deliver homemade cookies and water.
The gym was well taken care of with a great view.

I have stayed at many fine hotels over the years, but I have never had better service than we got at the Wedgewood Hotel.
We were traveling with our two young children, so a room with a separate bedroom and living room was a must. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location and the views were spectacular. We had twice daily housekeeping service, delicious welcome chocolates at check in and a wonderful restaurant on premises. But what really set the Wedgewood apart from the others is the service.
We had spectacular service from the moment we checked in (the kids had fallen asleep in the car on the way from the airport — it was nap time — and we stayed parked in their valet spot for at least 40 minutes while we sat in the car with sleeping kids). After our first time through the door we were always greeted by name, they helped carry the stroller up and down stairs (rather than take the out of the way ramps), they always had useful suggestions for where to go and what to do with the kids, they asked what more they could do to help and, perhaps most importantly, when our two year old vomited in the middle of the night, which he did on two separate nights, they were there to help clean up and take soiled linens, laundry, towels, etc… as well as providing air freshener.
I felt like Clark Griswold at one point, but they couldn’t have been nicer to us.
When in Vancouver I doubt I will want to stay anywhere else.

Spa’s extremely small and the massage bed’s got no heating system as other hotel spas do.
Was freezing as I was lying down.
Massage service wasn’t good. Way too much interruptions as the therapist spends time looking for things& mending heat towels. Massage, oh wait grab this, massage, now grab towel, massage, open the drawer, massage etc. When the bed’s already cold, the masseur’s hands are also cold from moving around in open air too much.
Lounge was just o-​m-​g. Nice room, but right outside the window by the terrace is a tall building where people can look down into the lounge. 0 privacy.
They only serve water in plastic cups. Not a hotel spa quality.
Hotel itself is pretty.

Last evening a friend and I dined at Bacchus for Christmas dinner. The meal was a creative gourmet feast, the service was excellent and the mood in the dining room was festive and gracious. What a disappointment when a bill was presented for two cups of coffee which had been our drink at the end of the delicious meal. When one pays over $ 150 for an elegant dinner I believe a $ 6.50 charge for a cup of coffee is a shabby way to treat a patron and an appalling way to generate income for the restaurant. Sadly, I will never return.

This has got to be one of the very best hotels in North America. Given how many times we visit Vancouver, it’s crazy we hadn’t chosen it before. We were greeted with a personal note of welcome handwritten by the manager and a complete fruit and cheese service and an excellent bottle of wine.
From the bell and reception staff, to Bacchus servers, to the exemplary housekeepers, the service stayed first-​rate. The location doesn’t get any better, overlooking Robson Square, close to shops, restaurants, within easy walking distance of Chinatown, Gastown, Coal Harbour and even English Bay. The bed linens and pillows, mattress, carpet, towels, bath products, heated bathroom floor: everything is carefully selected to cater to the guest’s total comfort. I’ve never slept better or relaxed more completely in my life – let alone in a hotel!
Décor is elegant but not showy, just like everything about this small jewel of a hotel.

Came here today for some relaxation and a facial. I arrived about an hour before my appointment to enjoy the spa. Having been to a few spas before (spa utopia, four seasons, and scandinave) I was a bit disappointed.
The facilities are small, a 3 – 4 person «eucalyptus» steam room, a shower, and a sitting area. The steam room and spa area is co-​ed which was slightly uncomfortable considering I was just in a towel.
Some positives were that it was absolutely dead so I had a private spa for about 45 minutes. Also the facial was one of the best experiences of my life. Mask after mask as well as a head, arm, hand, leg, and foot massage… just heavenly.

My boyfriend and I were just coming for a night and wanted to stay some place nice and cozy, Wedgwood was perfect! The staff was so nice and helpful. You can tell the receptionist likes his job, he happily gave recommendations of places to visit upon our arrival. The bed was very comfortable and they even gave us a free upgrade to the jr suite. It smells delightful and the décor is classy and clean. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping, and the hotel lounge has great ambiance and the best old fashioned I’ve tasted (I’ve had a few). Very pleased.

Overall highly recommended and I will for sure look at staying here again during my next visit.
Location — 5 star
It is located in the center of Vancouver, at the beginning end of the retail strip on Robson Street. It is pretty much the same walking distance to the Aquabus to go to Granville Island Market and to the pier and Gastown.
Service — 5 star
During our just one night stay, we bugged them quite a few times. Asked for a local map, asked for exchanging USD to CAD, asked about bus system, and also asked to store our luggage twice with them, before checking in and after checking out. The service was amazing and the lady at the front desk provided great tips in getting around the area. At first I researched all the bus routes but the lady actually told us that it is actually much more convenient to just walk to places as most of the things are within walking distance. In fact, she was totally right and it saved us couple bucks on bus tickets. Exchange rate they gave us was 1 USD to .97 CAD which is pretty decent comparing to all other places, mostly offered at 1 USD to .90 CAD. All other staffs are super polite and really made you feel like you are much welcomed.
Hotel Room — 4 star
The only negative is the faucets in the bathroom, it is really hard to turn on and off or get to the right temperature. Everything else was better than great! One thing the we were totally sold on was that they have the Nespresso machine in the room for your morning coffee! Wi-​fi was slow but they did handed us a letter upon check in that they are aware of the slowness and are working on it. Let’s see if it is fixed when we come again next time.

We have visited Vancouver in the past but each time we visit we realize we need more time at the end of the trip. On this recent trip we decided to stay at The Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, one of Vancouver’s leading luxury hotels.
If you’re searching for a romantic, sophisticated hotel with over the top service, immaculate rooms, a top rated restaurant, a full-​service award winning spa, and a central downtown location, the Wedgewood is the only choice.
The hotel is individually owned and not a product of a major hotel chain which is clear the second you walk through the main entrance. The overall vibe has everything to do with the personal interior decorating skills of Greek born owner and founder, Eleni Skalbania. With only eighty-​three rooms and suites the family-​run boutique hotel has been a top notch Vancouver destination in and of itself.
Upon arrival it was evident; we were in the lap of luxury and immediately felt at home (although our home is nothing close to this extravagant). Our room was well appointed and spacious.
When you are in a hotel such as the Wedgewood you make time to enjoy it. Succumbing to the relaxation I even decided to book myself a spa appointment for the next morning.
Around 6:30pm we started getting ready for dinner. We decided to try the hotel restaurant Bacchus which was recently awarded «Travellers’ Choice Best Vancouver Restaurant» by TripAdvisor. After a day of city slicking, Bacchus deemed the perfect choice.
We sank into a plush velvet banquette while the server presented us with a 300-​bottle international wine list and menus. One look around and you instantly notice you are surrounded by luxury, with richly upholstered furniture, dark wood, and light fixtures imported from Venice by owner Skalbania herself. The live piano entertainment completes the atmosphere.
A glass of Chardonnay and a Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini kicked off the dinner. For starters we decided on an Organic Arugula, Baby Spinach Leaves and Endive Salad topped with Spiced Poached Pear, Candied Pecans and Crumbled Stilton and the Ahi Tuna Tartare with Avocado, Toasted Sesame, Shiso, Pine Nuts and Ciabatta Crisps. Both were fantastic. Our server was meticulously trained and highly knowledgeable. For our entrees we both ordered the «AAA» Alberta Beef Tenderloin with Truffle and Parmesan «Pont Neuf», Wilted Spinach, Portabello Mushrooms and Béarnaise Sauce. This truly is an award winning restaurant, the food was outstanding and the ambiance is just as good.
Luckily we decided to skip dessert because when we arrived back at our room there was a plate of freshly baked cookies along with turndown service, a sweet end to a sweet night.
The next morning we awoke in a great mood, the beds are so comfortable at the Wedgewood I really need to find out where I can get this set up for my own home. It was almost time for my facial appointment, but first breakfast! I know your probably thinking «How can you eat again?» This time we went light with a Fresh Fruit, Granola and Yogurt Parfait. It was a great option before my trip to the spa.
The Spa was warm and inviting and I noticed right away a displayed line of my favorite skin care, Epicuren. I was thrilled and immediately started going through the Epicuren products to see which ones I didn’t have. Seconds later, an esthetician named Jan arrived to take me back for my facial. The 60-​minute affair was punctuated by cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and a stress-​relieving oil massage for my stiff shoulders. After some final extractions, she smoothed on a series of aromatic potions and spritzed on some protein spray that left my skin moist. She was great, and I left with a luminous complexion that kept my face glowing all day.
Overall AMAZING stay!

FANTASTIC service… right from the start at curb side when the valet attendant took my car (at least I hope it was the attendant… we will find out later… ha ha ha). Friendly staff, old world décor, spacious room and the service just keeps going on and on. Chocolates to the door, cookies at turn down. Will definitely return for a weekend getaway!!!

The rooms are great everything was very clean and tastefully decorated. I really enjoyed the little extra touches they had the cookies, complimentary bottles of water and chocolates.
I did feel slightly out of place staying at this place wearing my jeans.

We stayed for two nights at the Wedgewood and found it delightful. Our room, 8^th floor, was large and handsomely furnished and equipped. The staff was friendly and efficient. A fine continental breakfast was provided each morning. Our meals at the in-​house lounge/​restaurant — the Bacchus– — were excellent.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vancouver and looking for a special place to spend some quality time.

I attended a Ryerson Alumni event here a few nights back, and was quite pleased at the hospitality we received.
The staff was helpful and friendly. The event space provided was perfect for the number of people we expected. It’s a nice room at the back of the lobby that’s great for accommodating 50 – 100 people.
The wine, finger foods and snacks that were provided all tasted freshly made, looked great and were constantly replenished.
I would seriously consider holding another even here.

Tucked a half block off the soul of the city, Robson Street, this stately European traditional boutique hotel «Wows» on many levels, most notably the bar/​lounge, elegant and inviting with big couches and thickly stuffed upholstered chairs, a fireplace and live piano.
The rooms are large and comfortable and despite the traditional Queen Anne style furniture, it is looking a bit dated. The Spa is small as are the common areas, limitations of the tight architecture.
I had a suite with a nice large patio and view. The service is also outstanding. If you enjoy a traditional experience, you’ll love this hotel. If you to tend to enjoy trendy posh, you’re in for a let down.
For what its worth, this is my favourite hotel in the city.
